Another Challenge with Time Out

Hello!

I hope your week is going well.  We are rushing around getting ready for our holidays - at last :)  However, instead of getting packed I have been making cards!

Can you believe that it is already time for the next challenge at Time Out Challenges?  I am so honoured to be the guest designer again.  The theme is Celebrate with an optional twist of butterflies.  What a great challenge....who doesn't love butterflies?!

Here is my card:

In my mind, a shaker card always works for a celebration!  I used a butterfly die from Hero Arts to create the aperture.  I stamped HA's Magical Background to create some interest and added white and silver sequins.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Go and check out the cards that the talented Design Team have created to get you started!  I hope you take Time Out to play along with us :)

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments - they are much appreciated.

More Sequins

Hello!

It has taken me a bit longer to post another card than I intended - the return of the little monsters from their visit to Grandma and Grandpa has brought the usual chaos back to the house.  It's great :)

I decided to make a few more cards with the scrummy sequin stamps from Winnie & Walter that were still on my table after my card for Less Is More.

I paired the sequin 'confetti' with the lovely W&W sentiment, gold embossed.  I will link this card up to the current challenge at Addicted to CAS with the cue word Celebration - sequins are always good for a party!  I will also link up with the current challenge at Less is More which is Anything Goes - as it is Chrissie's birthday, this card is for her :)

I also made an anniversary card which would work for either a golden or ruby anniversary!  As the sequins and sentiment are embossed, I will join this up at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge with the theme of embossing.

I hope you have had a good weekend and thanks for stopping by!

See you again soon,

Sarah x

Singing In The Rain

Hello!

I hope you are having a sunny week - it is glorious here.  However, despite the sunshine this week's challenge at Less Is More is Singing in the Rain :)

Here is my card:

I got out my Mama Elephant stamps to create a happy card - you have to be happy when it is raining sequins!  I paper pieced the umbrella and die cut the clouds using the Mama Elephant landscape dies.

As my card features a polka dot umbrella I will also link up at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge to use spots and dots.

Thanks for stopping by - I really appreciate your comments!

Take a Bow

Hello!

Just a very quick post tonight with a card that I have made for the latest KIS Challenge - Take A Bow:

I used a wide stripe stamp and sentiments from Simon Says Stamp.  I coloured it with a pale peach ink dauber from Hero Arts.  I finished with a bow and sequins.  A really CAS design.

I also made this card:

I white embossed the lovely feather stamp from Clarity Stamp and paired it with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.  I added a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I think it creates a light, airy look.  I will join up with Addicted to Stamps and More's current clean and simple challenge.

I hope you like them.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by and your kind comments :)

Weekend Crafting

Hello!

I hope you have had a lovely weekend.  I got the chance to make a few cards this afternoon for some challenges that are about to close.

The Cue Card at CASology this week is Pet and I decided to play with my new cute Mama Elephant stamps.  I love the little tortoise looking up at the girl :)  I cut the grass with a Mama Elephant landscape die.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  I die cut some dotty clouds and added a few dots to the girl's dress so that I can also link up at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge to use dots and spots.

This CAS one layer card uses the colours from The Card Concept's challenge:

I used my Hero Arts Tweed Stencil which picks up the pattern on the bed and a sentiments from the Hero Arts Yay! set.  The stars and sequins pick up the other colours from the inspiration photo.  As it is a one layer card I will also join up with the current challenge over at Hero Arts.  This also qualifies for the clean and simple challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!.  I will link up to Addicted to CAS where the codeword is Celebrate - thanks, Kylie!

I will be back with a few more cards tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by!

School Holidays at Last!

Hello!

Thank goodness - we finally made it to the school holidays :)  The end of term scramble is over and we can enjoy a few weeks without packed lunches, clubs, homework.  Even better the boys are going to spend the first week with their grandparents so I have a whole week where I just have to get to work every day - simple!

Here are a few thank you cards that I made for teachers:

This card features the fab Fruitilicious set from Clearly Besotted.  The polka dot melon and paper mean that I can join up with this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to use spots and dots!

I have used Paper Smooches Cyber Café stamps on this card - I have gone with a colour combo from a well known coffee chain!

That's all from me - hopefully I will have more to share if I get some more crafty time over the coming week....

Bye for now, Sarah x

Full of Beans!

Hello!

A very quick post today - I just really wanted to play along with the fun challenge this week over at Less Is More.  It is to make a one layer card using a fingerprint :)

This is what I came up with.  I used the same sentiment as last week....

I hope it makes you smile!

Thanks for stopping by,

Time Out Guest Designer!

Hello!

There is a new challenge over at the Time Out Challenge and I am so excited to be a guest designer this time :)

The challenge is a fab photo inspiration:

Isn't it lovely!  There are so many patterns and design elements to work with.  Here's my take:

I was inspired by the broad stripes in the background, the feathers hanging from the tent and the patterns - I thought the triangle pattern reflects the bunting.  The feather dies are from My Favourite Things, the wide stripe stamp from Simon Says Stamp and sentiment is from Mama Elephant.  I think the patterned paper is from Dear Lizzy.

I hope you like my effort and look forward to seeing what you come up with!  The Time Out Design Team have some great inspiration to get you started.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

A New Challenge at A Blog Named Hero

Hello!

There were loads of fab entries for Challenge #47 Colour It in at A Blog Named Hero!  Thank you so much for playing along :)

Today we have Challenge #48:

We are wanting to see your one layer cards.  There is some great inspiration from the design team to get you started.

Here is my card:

I clustered this cute group of animals from Hero Arts and Paper Smooches together with masking and coloured with pencils.  They work together so well!  This is a very simple card but you know how I love my critters :)

This month we are joining up with Paper Smooches and their wonderful designs.

I really hope that you get the chance to play along with us again this time.  Remember there is a chance to win a prize from our fab sponsors:

A Few Cards

Hello!

We have had a hectic weekend with scooter parties, football presentations and shopping for my eldest's prom outfit - who knew boys could be so fussy!  I did manage to squeeze in a few cards along the way and here they are:

This card was made with the sweet panda set from Mama Elephant with a touch of colouring with Spectrum Noir pencils. I am linking this card up with CASology's Challenge based on the cue card - Glow.  The glow from the lamp, glitter tape and sequins reflect the theme.

Next I wanted to play along with the new Tag You're It Challenge - particularly as the inspiration tag was made by Virginia Lu.  Here is my take:

I cut a stitched tag using my Waltzingmouse Stamps die and the hello die cut is from Papertrey Inks which I stacked up with a couple of layers.  The circle stamps are from Uniko Studio.  I hope that you can see that I was inspired by the colour combo and the die cut word from Virginia's designs!

Thanks as always for stopping by - I hope you have had a great weekend :)

I'm off to check out the Altenew blog hop - so excited about their next release!

Bye for now, Sarah x

Happy Accidents with Alcohol!

Hello!

I mean alcohol inks of course :)  I was playing around with my alcohol inks at the weekend and getting frustrated - I never seem to be able to get a look that I like.  It may be my preference for CAS that makes the inks just too unpredictable for me!  Anyway, I accidently got a few drops on a piece of gloss card and liked the way it spread out so I tried making a few backgrounds by dropping the inks with some blending solution.

I embossed and cut out the gorgeous new Hummingbird stamp from Uniko Studios on vellum as I thought that my inky background gave the impression of a blurry background created by the bird hovering....

I will join up with Uniko's current challenge as it is using a similar colour palette....also I will link up with Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge to use clear elements on our cards as the hummingbird is stamped on vellum.  Finally, and very belatedly I will link up with the lovely Darnell's birthday party as I am sure she will appreciate a card made using NBUS!

Here is a second card with a bit more green and gold in it:

I can't decide which I like more - what do you think?

I hope you are looking forward to a lovely weekend :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Grab Life by the Beans!

Hello!

Just a quick post tonight with a card I have made for the current Less Is More Challenge to use earthtones.  This is a major breakthrough as I am usually posting the hour before the challenge closes on a Friday so I am very pleased with myself :)

This is made from a fun set by Paper Smooches called Cyber Café.  I love the sentiment!  The twine and kraft card adds a bit of texture.

I hope your week is going well - I'll be back soon with a few more cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind comments.

Hello!

I am over at A Blog Named Hero today with some cards made using Paper Smooches and Hero Arts products.  I love Paper Smooches stamps - they are so fun and always make me smile :)

I white embossed Hero Arts Tiny Stars Background and inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  The cute owl is from Paper Smooches Chubby Chums and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Written in the Stars.

I will link up with Virginia's View #5 Challenge to use die cuts and also at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Sky.

Head on over to ABNH to see the other cards that I have made :)  Also link up your projects with our latest challenge:
