Less is More #301

Hello!

For our first challenge of November at Less is More we are looking for cards that use the colour combination of purple and gold.  You can't go wrong with these rich, luxurious colours :)

First up I made a card using the beautiful mandala stamp from Uniko's October release - Marvellous Mehndi.  I gold embossed it and popped the white card panel up over a strip of purple card stock.  The sentiment is also from one of the Uniko Simply Said sets.

Purple and gold seems like a perfect colour combo for Christmas cards and I really need to be getting on with mine!  here is a card that I made using a die from Penny Black.  I layered the wreath in purple card and gold mirri and added the bow too.  The sentiment is gold embossed and is from Clearly Besotted.  I really like how this turned out....it could be a design that I repeat for my Christmas cards this year.

I would have made more cards with this wonderful colour combo but, as ever, time was against me so 2 will have to do this week!  Do check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT - they always have something amazing to share over at Less is More :)

As we are at the beginning of a new month we have a new sponsor at Less is More and we are welcoming the return of the awesome:

Pink and Blue

Hello!

I hope you are having a good weekend and enjoying some crafty time.  As it was half term this week I had a bit of a chance to catch up with myself and make a few cards for fave challenges in to the bargain!

First up I have a card for CASology where the cue card is Cure:

Quite a few people at work are struggling at the moment with coughs and colds which, so far, I have managed to avoid.  These stamps and sentiments from Paper Smooches are just perfect for this time of year :)  I simply paper pieced the box of tissues and added a strip of patterned paper at the bottom of the card.

I also wanted to play along with the masculine challenge over at AAA cards.  I do need lots of boy cards so this was a good opportunity to add to my stash.  I used a fab new sentiment die from Stamplorations and a star from MFT.  They are popped on fun foam and covered in glossy accents.  I inked through a stencil in blue and combined with some grungy Stamplorations stamps.  I will also add this card to Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes and at Stamplorations October CAS Challenge:

I REALLY should be getting on with Christmas cards but am not feeling sufficiently festive yet.  Maybe once Halloween is out of the way :)

Thanks, as always, for stopping by,

Less is More #300

Hello!

This week we are celebrating our 300th challenge at Less is More! As a result the theme is very apt - we are looking for designs which are related to Celebrations or Festivals :)

I have come up with a couple of simple celebration cards which I can add to my stash for lots of occasions:

I silver embossed the sentiment from Mama Elephant and combined it with a silver/grey patterned paper that is slightly ombre.  A few die cut stars in silver paper finish it off.

Next up I used a stamp from Altenew's Birthday Bash set and paper pieced with some mint green paper.  The sequins are die cuts from Mama Elephant and the die cut sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

How will you celebrate with us?!  The rest of the DT have more fab inspiration over at Less is More....and we are joined this week by the lovely Julie Beech from Crafted by Jules.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

October Uniko Challenge

Hello!

Just popping in with a quick reminder that Uniko's October Challenge is open until 11 November so there is still plenty of time to play along!  The theme this month is RAINBOW:

I have 2 cards to share with you today which are inspired by rainbows:

First up I stamped the solid butterfly image from the English Country Garden Butterflies set in a rainbow of colours as they fly off the card.  A strip of grey cardstock with a sentiment from Simply Said completes the design.  Very quick and simple!

I also decided to stamp and colour the main image from the recently released Marvellous Mehndi set in a rainbow of colours.  This is fast becoming one of my favourite stamps - it is so versatile.  Colouring it in is lovely and relaxing but it can also be used as an elegant outline stamp or with more mixed media effects.  And it works for any occasion too :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  Do check out the rest of the colourful inspiration from the fab Uniko DT over at the blog along with our super talented GD, Hannelie from Desert Diva.

See you again soon,

Organic Blooms

Hello,

Back with a super quick post today with another card that I managed to squeeze in over the weekend.  I have been wanting to play with the beautiful organic blooms stamps from Mama Elephant for some time so made this....

I stamped the image in archival grey ink and watercoloured with distress inks in pink and grey for a soft look.  A strip of grey card down the side of the card and a sentiment from the same set completes the design.

I will link this card up at the Think Pink challenge over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge and for a second time at the Anything Goes challenge over at Addicted to Stamps.

I hope your week has got off to a good start :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Feeling Perky!

Hello!

I have had the rare opportunity this weekend to make some cards which are not specifically for one of my DT deadlines and decided to play along with one of my favourite challenges - CASology where the cue card this week is Coffee.  That also gave me the excuse to break out a set of stamps which I have had for ages.  I bought them from Waltzingmouse but I think they are now available through Gina K Designs....

I went with a teal and grey colour combo on both cards and used the little flower detail from the coffee pot on the card base of the first card.

A strip of glitter tape adds a bit of bling on my second design :)

I will also link up at the Anything Goes Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More and to the Coffee themed challenge also going on over at Addicted to CAS.

I hope you found some time for a bit of crafty relaxation this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by,

Less is More #299

Hello!

The weeks are rolling by more quickly and we are at half term already.  The boys will be glad to have a week off and then it will be all downhill to Christmas break :)

This week at Less is More we are looking for designs which use acetate or vellum.  So many ways that you can go with this!

First up I coloured some acetate with alcohol inks and die cut it with a dragonfly die from Clearly Besotted.  The top layer is cut from white card with a bit of added shimmer from Wink of Stella.  The vines are die cut using a Penny Black stamp and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches (I think).  The white panel is popped up on the card base with a few strips of glitter paper attached.  The acetate does give the dragonfly's wings some translucency in real life!

I had to make a shaker card on a week where we are using acetate and this die from My Favourite Things makes that so easy to do!  Sorry for the shadows on the photo :(  The holly is Paper Smooches and I added glossy accents to the berry.  The shaker is filled in with white and clear sequins.

I wanted to create using vellum too but ran out of time.  I look forward to seeing what you make too.  The DT have lots of fabulous creations to share with you over at Less is More :)

Thanks for stopping by,
