Simple Cards

Hello!

I hope that you had the chance to spend some time getting crafty over the weekend!  I made a few cards for some of my fave challenges.

First up I have tried to follow the CAS sketch at AAA Cards and made this card without the optional twist of winter birthdays:

I masked a strip on the kraft cardstock and used That's Crafty paste over the Confetti Hearts stencil and combined it with this loved up pair of Chubby Unicorns.  The sentiment is from WPlus9.

Here is the sketch:

I have obviously turned it upside down!

Next up I wanted to play along with CAS Stencils Challenge - I can't believe that it is their first birthday already!  Congrats and thanks for keeping us inspired with your creative ideas for getting the most out of our I masked a strip on the kraft cardstock and used That's Crafty paste over the Confetti Hearts stencil and combined it with this loved up pair of Chubby Unicorns.  The sentiment is from WPlus9.

AAA Birthday Challenge #9

Hello!

We begin the new year with a new monthly challenge over at AAA Birthday and this month we are celebrating birthdays with shaker cards:

I used our Whale of a Time stamp set and Scenic Borders stencil to create this card:

I simply inked through the wave border repeatedly on the card panel to create the watery effect and then die cut a heart from the top left corner.  I stamped and watercoloured the cute whale on a separate piece of card before cutting it out and I white heat embossed the sentiment on the dark blue card going on the bottom layer.  A bit of acetate and some sequins behind the window and the card was complete!

You have until 2 Feb to play along with us....it is nice to get back to birthday cards after all of that festive cardmaking!  Check out the amazing designs from the talented DT over at AAA Birthday :)

Here are the products that I used in this card which are available from www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Thanks for stopping by and happy cardmaking!

Perfectly CAS

Hello!

I am taking advantage of the christmas break to play along with some challenges as I don't often get the chance to make cards just for fun :)  Perfectly CAS is a new challenge which encourages us to keep our designs clean and simply by using one third of the card front or less and the current challenge is to Celebrate.

I decided to use our Say What and Lets Talk stencils on this card to create a bright and fun design:

I simply masked a panel on the card front and inked through Lets Talk with Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides.  I white heat embossed a sentiment from WPlus9 and inked through one of the large speech bubbles from Say What in Picked Raspberry before cutting it out.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Lets Party.

Here are the stencils that I used:

We currently have a Winter Sale running with 25% off everything until 3 Jan when you use the code BOX25.

Go Wild

Hello!

I hope that you have been having a wonderful festive season...I have been taking advantage of some time off work to hideout in my craft room :)  I decided to make a card with some stencils that I haven't used for a while - Leo and Fierce Words:

I inked through the words stencil in Pumice Stone to create a light coloured background before going over the lion stencil with copper texture paste.  Once that was dry  I went back over some of the wording in Hickory Smoke to create the sentiment.  I simply added some copper coloured glitter tape down the edge of the card to add a bit of extra interest.

I shall link up at Inkspirational where the challenge is No Stamping and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where it is Party Time!

Here are the products that I used on this card which are available to buy from www.funkyfossil.co.uk

Dream Big

Hello,

Just a quick post to share a card that I have made with our Chubby Unicorns stamp set and the Confetti Sprinkles stencil.  I am starting to build my stash of all occasion cards now that we are nearly finished with christmas card production for another year!

I thought that this little lady would work perfectly for the challenge over at Time Out where the word inspiration is:

It also works well for Simon's Wednesday Challenge where it is party time.  You can't have a party without confetti!

I hope that your christmas preparations are going smoothly and things aren't getting too frazzled.  I am off work for 2 weeks now and am planning to get lots of crafty time :)  Whatever you are doing, I hope you have a wonderful time!

AAA Cards

Hello!

It is a very cold and wet weekend here so I am playing in my craft room....I wanted to take part in the current AAA Cards Challenge where we are creating CAS cards along the edge.

I used our Banners and Bunting Stencil to create this card:

A little bit of Tumbled Glass distress ink shaded at the top of the card and coloured texture paste over the bunting to give a bit of dimension.  The sentiment is from WPlus9.

I do love this stencil - I often reach for it to finish off a scene or as a focal point on my cards.  You can buy it from our store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk.

I hope you like the card - it was a nice change from a christmas card :)

Feeling Festive

Hello!

I am still working on christmas cards....is it just me or does the clock speed up at this time of year?!  Here are three that I made over the weekend.

I inked up our Holly Wreath stencil a couple of times and added some extra foliage from the Fa La La and Joy stamp sets.  I die cut a circle inside the wreath.  I heat embossed the sentiment in copper and cut it out so that it looks as if it is hanging from the wreath.

I shall link up at Time Out where the theme is Merry and Cheerful.

I stitched around a die cut frame on this card to highlight the gold embossed sentiment from our Fa La La stamp set.  I shall link up at Simon Wednesday's Challenge where the theme is Traditional Christmas.

Finally I went with black and gold for a dramatic look:

I went over our Simple Scallops stencil with gold glitter paste and added the sentiment.  I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge without the candy cane twist.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge

Hello!

It is time for our next monthly AAA Birthday Card Challenge which, if you are like me, is a welcome excuse to take a break from making christmas cards :)  This month's theme is Balloons and Banners:

I decided to use this opportunity to ink up a few new stencils including Up and Away and Scenic Borders:

I inked up the main hot air balloon in Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilised Amber and added some light pencil shading to add some depth to the colours.  I also used the cloud border to create the sky on this card.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Here are the stencils that I used which you can buy in store at www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

I hope you like my card!

Blessed

Hello!

I love the current theme at Less is More where we are focusing our designs in a triangle to create our CAS cards....

I masked a triangle on my card front and used our Into the Wild and Birds in Flight stencils to create the following scene:

I used some Jane Davenport washi and a Tim Holtz Ideology sticker.

I shall also link up at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Blessed and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

These are the stencils that I used:

CAS Christmas

Hello!

I hope that your week is going well :)  I found out about a new challenge this week and wanted to play along.  It is called Day of the Month Card Club and goes live on the 7th of every month.  The challenge uses different celebrations/events as their theme which is a great idea :)  The theme for November has been inspired by 'Look for Circles' day!!

I decided to use my new stencil - Ornamental - for this CAS card as one of the baubles is circular.

I used Nuvo Glacier Paste in Quicksilver on navy cardstock and added a few gems.  The sentiment is from MFT and I simply added a bit of silver mirri card.

Unser Logo zum Mitnehmen! / Our logo to take away!

I shall link up at the current Anything Goes challenge at Simon's Wednesday Challenge and for a third time at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the theme is Tis The Season.

Here is the stencil that I used:

Week in Review

Hello!

Life has been so busy over the past few weeks that I haven't had much time to share some of my cards here on the blog so I have a few pics below....

First up is a card that I have made with our new Swallows stencil:

I used a discarded piece of copy paper that I had used to take excess paint off my brayer as the background and sponged dark blue acrylic paint through the stencil.  I also added a few elements of the micro dots stencil around the edges.  The sentiment is by Stamplorations.  I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is to recycle it.

Next up is a card that I made for the current challenge at Time Out where the theme is Celebrations (with the optional twist of one layer).  I used the butterflies from our Abstract Beauty stamp set to create the background and combined it with a Concord and 9th butterfly and Mama Elephant sentiment.

Finally, a card that I have made with our new Ornamental stencil and Cosmic Shimmer luna paste.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink

I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge which, this month, is Tis the Season.

Sponsoring AAA Card Challenge

Hello!

I love the CAS card challenges that AAA Cards set for us and I am delighted to say that I am sponsoring the current challenge:

I decided to use the sweet angel from our Folksy Christmas set and added our sunray stencil behind her.  Using sparkle pens to watercolour the image has given it some shimmer :)

The prize is £15 credit for our store www.funkyfossil.co.uk!

As it is a one layer card I shall also link up at Inkspirational.

I hope you like the card.  These are the products that I used:

Thanks as always for stopping by,
