Golden Buddha

Hello!

I thought that I would share a recent make with you featuring a new stamp from Inkylicious....

I just think that it is such a striking image and looks great in gold.  I painted the box frame black and simply embossed the Buddha.  I painted the inside of the frame in gold to add to the richness of the design.

I also made a door hanger to match.  The leaves are from a palm stamp by Hero Arts.

I have listed these items in my Folksy shop.  I hope you like them :)

Thanks, Sarah x

Cute Valentine

Hello!

I have had a bit of crafty time this weekend and decided to get a valentine card made for my better half.  I don't often make cute cards so this is a bit of a different style.....

I just couldn't resist these cute MFT sheep stamps.  I watercoloured the sheep with Zig watercolour markers and added some wink of stella to the heart.  I die cut the 'ewe' from a new alphabet that I got from Sizzix and white embossed the rest of the sentiment.  I inked through a heart stencil in pinks and greys and die cut an angled panel in dark grey.

I shall link up at AAA Cards - Shape Your Love challenge and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Cute.

I hope you have had some crafty time this weekend and are preparing to be all loved up on Tuesday :)

See you again soon,

Uniko's Birthday Link Up Party!

Hello!

Today we are celebrating Uniko's 5th birthday and there is a fab linky party over on the blog.  It is open until 10 March so there is lots of time to play along and there are prizes to be won too!  All you need to do is make a birthday card to join in.

I made a card using the recently released Marvellous Mehndi stamps:

I white embossed the beautiful paisley style images and inked over with rich reds, oranges and yellows.  The sentiment is from the Cosmos set.

Whilst I had the set out I decided to stamp and frame the beautiful mandala from the set in the same colour scheme.

I think they would make a lovely matching birthday gift and card.  I have added them for sale in my Folksy shop if you know of anyone who would be interested.

Do check out the fab birthday fun over at the Uniko blog.  The DT have made some gorgeous birthday cards. Bev has done an amazing job designing and running Uniko for the past 5 years and she has a gorgeous new release for us later this month too :)

See you again soon,

Less is More #315

Hello!

We are back for the second week of our birthday month at Less is More and this week we are creating one layer cards with a theme of opposites attract.

This one really stumped me and, after many attempts ended up in bin, I came up with this:

I embossed a cloud die in to the card base and inked around the inside in soft grey.  I masked the cloud and used a sunshine stencil behind the cloud and a raindrop stencil under the cloud.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

I also made a card in black and white which are opposites....

I used a border stamp from Kaisercraft down the side and along the bottom of the card.  I like the sketchy, doodled look it gives.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

Finally I used a set from Clearly Besotted to make a super simple card.

I am really interested to see what you come up with for this one as I found it tough!  The rest of the DT, of course, have fabulous ideas which I wish that I had thought of.  This week we are being sponsored by the fabulous Seven Hills Crafts - I have been a regular customer of Tara's for ages and she stocks the most amazing range of US stamps and dies....along with being a talented card maker too.  Check our her GD card for us this week.

Less is More #314

Hello!

Welcome to an exciting month over at Less is More as we celebrate our 6th birthday!!  I have only been on the DT for the last year but it has been lots of fun and I feel very lucky to be part of such a fab crafty community.....thank you for all of your comments and support.

What do you think of our new blog design, by the way?  Sarah, Sharon and Esther have done amazing work behind the scenes to give us a makeover and I hope you agree that it is perfectly CAS :)

I hope you will stay with us all month as we have four fabulous sponsors celebrating with us and this week it is Happy Little Stampers which means that the lovely Kylie is joining us as GD.

Our challenge this week is to use 3 adjacent colours on the colour wheel.

I came up with a couple of cards:

I used a sizzix butterfly die and coloured the base in Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  Very simple - I just liked the pop of colour on the butterfly :)

Next I sprayed some green and blue inks on to a square panel and popped half of the globe die over the top.  The sentiment is from Concord and 9th.

The DT have lots of fab inspiration for you this week (as usual) along with our GD, Kylie.  I hope you have the time to play along with us as we celebrate this LIM milestone :)

See you soon!

Uniko Challenge Reminder

Hello!

Have you had the chance to play along with our challenge over at Uniko yet?  The theme is Anything Goes with an optional twist of love - perfect for the month of romance :)

Given the love theme - I decided to make some mdf hanging hearts featuring Uniko stamps.  I am loving grey at the moment so this is what I made:

I stamped and clear embossed the Marvellous Mehndi mandala in dark grey on a white painted heart and popped a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #5 over the top.

On this double heart I white embossed the floral heart from Always and Forever on a grey painted heart.

I think that the white and grey look really crisp together and these items can hang up all year long :)

I hope you like my take on the Uniko challenge.  It is open until 24 Feb so you still have plenty of time to play along and there are great prizes available too.  Check out the blog for more details and great designs from the fab DT!

Pop Heart

Hello,

Just dropping by with a quick card made whilst I was playing with the Neat and Tangled heart die which is new to me.  I cut it in bright pink and replaced a few of the sections.  It really pops against the mint/aqua background:

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and has been white embossed on black card.

I will link up at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where the theme is The Colour of Love.

Thanks, as always for stopping by :)
