We are back for the second week of our birthday month at Less is More and this week we are creating one layer cards with a theme of opposites attract.
This one really stumped me and, after many attempts ended up in bin, I came up with this:
I embossed a cloud die in to the card base and inked around the inside in soft grey. I masked the cloud and used a sunshine stencil behind the cloud and a raindrop stencil under the cloud. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.
I also made a card in black and white which are opposites....
I used a border stamp from Kaisercraft down the side and along the bottom of the card. I like the sketchy, doodled look it gives. The sentiment is from Altenew.
Finally I used a set from Clearly Besotted to make a super simple card.
I am really interested to see what you come up with for this one as I found it tough! The rest of the DT, of course, have fabulous ideas which I wish that I had thought of. This week we are being sponsored by the fabulous Seven Hills Crafts - I have been a regular customer of Tara's for ages and she stocks the most amazing range of US stamps and dies....along with being a talented card maker too. Check our her GD card for us this week.
Thanks for stopping by,
Sarah xx

ReplyDeleteThese are great Sarah! I love the creativity of the first one - OLCs are always so interesting with a peek through to the inside and it looks fab! The Kaisercraft stamp on the second one is gorgeous and makes me want to grab my art journal! I think the combination of squares and lines looks fantastic. And those cute magnets and little hearts on your third card... adorable! Great selection of cards as always. Have a fab weekend x
ReplyDeleteSo creative Sarah! I smiled when I first saw the magnet card and have been dying to find out which set that was. Such a brilliant idea! Gorgeous, graphic and artsy design on your second card - that stamp adds a feeling of texture. I'm love with the dreamy stencil blending work on your first card though. But they are all fabulous. xx
ReplyDeleteI especially like the first two cards. Your opposites worked in so well on the first card and I love the simplistic, but also artistic, design of the second one.
ReplyDeleteLove your sun and rain card, so pretty and delicate!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards. Could have fooled me that you couldn't come up with anything. 😂 Magnets was my first thought when I read the challenge theme.
ReplyDeleteFor not having any ideas you sure came up with three fabulous cards, Sarah. AND you had the stamps to make them. I'm at a loss right now but I'll check out the DT and see if something sparks.
ReplyDeleteOh my you have been such a busy bee Sarah. Looks like your crafting mojo is in top gear and loving each of these fantastic opposites card. Sorry I nicked the magnets first but I defo prefer your other 2 cards anyway. Have a great week and catch up soon. x
ReplyDeleteThree fabulously different cards, Sarah. I love the way you embossed the cloud before shading it. Super sketchy design for your second and the perfect choice of stamp set for your third. I agree, this week was a pretty tough theme x
ReplyDeletefab set of cards, love your take on the challenge, x
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Sarah, as usual ! Love all of them, they illustrate so well the challenge theme ! Your first card is stunning with this optical illusion I first had : it seems that the cloud is only the shape of the die cut part and that your sentiment comes from the inside of the card, thanks to the grey shadow you made ! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring.
