Happy weekend to you :) Here we are again with another challenge over at Less Is More as our birthday month continues. This week the theme is Alphabet.
I have a few ideas to share with you:
I white embossed a fab alphabet background stamp from Hero Arts and die cut a heart. I inked the heart in a range of distress ink blues. The sentiment is also from Hero Arts and I thought it played on the alphabet theme too.
I was having so much fun with the alphabet background that I did the same thing and die cut a banner from it which is inked in Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed. Another Hero Arts sentiment completes the design. I inked the various colours around a card base to tie in with the banner.
Finally, I created a Mother's Day card using a chipboard letter which I painted in white and then stamped with Altenew's Persian Motifs. I watercoloured it on both the letter and the card base to create a camouflage look and used an Altenew Painted Butterfly to complete the design. I stamped a few alphabet letters on to black card to complete the sentiment. I think this looks really pretty!
I will link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Fantastic Florals.
I could have carried on making alphabet inspired cards but ran out of time. I hope you find time to play along with us this week. We are sponsored by the fabulous Stamplorations this week which means that the lovely Shery Russ is our Guest Designer!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by :)

Super stunning trio of beauty here Sarah and so much inspiration too. Love your inky blending and twist on the alphabet. That's a chipboard letter you've painted on the third one? You are rocking with talent, love that idea - just wondering if I'll have time to CASE it in time for my mum's birthday on Monday!!! Have a fun week. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteLove all three cards Sarah! The ink resist alphabet backgrounds are the most wonderful colours and so impactful. Your camouflaged letter is a fab idea and looks so incredibly pretty with the Altenew Persian Motifs <3 Gorgeous! Have a lovely weekend x
ReplyDeleteSo clever and creative. Fabulous layouts, great colours and although I love all three the last one is so clever x
ReplyDeleteFirst of all thank you ever so much for your lovely comment on my blog ! You made my day ! Love your cards and especially the heart one (surely because it's blue !). I just don't catch the meaning of AEIO, I'm sure it has something to see with how you pronounce it, but no way, I can't see. Can you tell me ? I also love your persian motif card, what a clever idea the hidden letters ! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring.

Hi Izzy - AEIOU are the 5 vowels in the alphabet so the sentiment is just saying missing u (you). Does that make sense?! I can see why it would be difficult to understand :)
DeleteI love the way you have used the distress ink to blend the backgrounds and your last card with that beautiful stamp on the letter is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use the alphabets...gotta try this!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous alphabets cards but do love the butterfly one best.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Loving that background stamp and how different it looks with the different colourways. Great sentiment on your first one and I love your camouflaged 'M', such a pretty card xx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant cards Sarah! That alphabet background is superb and your two treatments of it look fabulous. I'll give you a giggle.....I completely missed the camouflaged M on the last card initially - and thought you had a sentiment of 'um' (for a belated birthday) haha! what a dork I am! Anyway, you camouflaged the M incredibly well and that is such a delicate, feminine and beautiful card. Sorry I am late popping over - been a little hectic this week xx
