I am back again after a glorious few weeks of sunshine in Spain....it is proving difficult to readjust to a damp and cool british summer! However, it gives me an excuse to loiter in my craft room (ignoring the jungle outside in the garden) and to make some cards for this week's Less is More Challenge which is to Personalise It.
I made 2 cards.....the first one is for Father's Day which is tomorrow. It is for my father in law who looks a bit like this but doesn't wear a bow tie :)
The die cut edge and sentiment are from Waltzingmouse Stamps which is now sadly closed. The face is cut from a balloon die and the other features from Sizzix. The patterned paper just brings a bit of colour and interest to the design. I hope that it makes my father in law smile!
I made a card for my mum using Altenew stamps which I have watercoloured with distress inks. The sentiment is Altenew and the Mum is from Waltzingmouse.
It is a lovely touch to personalise a card and I plan to invest in more alphabet stamps or dies to add individual names too. The rest of the DT have great ideas for creating personalised designs which you can find over on the Less is More blog.
Thank you for stopping by,
Sarah x
Welcome back, Sarah. And two fabby cards this week. I love your use of dies to create your father-in-law's face, I hope he doesn't look like a balloon! ;) And your floral cards are always so beautiful. What a shame Waltzingmouse has closed, loving those sentiment fonts xx
ReplyDeleteAha, loving the balloon face card! It's sure to make your F-I-L chuckle! And a beautiful card for your mum with those lovely florals and the meaningful sentiment. Just lovely. Have a great weekend x
ReplyDeleteLove that Father's Day card...so fun. Your floral card is beautiful! Terrific inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe card you made for your mum is stunning!
ReplyDeleteLove the creativity of your FIL's card! It sure made me smile. And your floral card is simply beautiful. Love the soft colours and colouring. Welcome back and have a great week.
ReplyDelete2 super classy and ingenious personalised cards Sarah. That balloon face is an inspiration although hope you don't tell your F-I-L what you used for the shape!!! Stunning border die too and your colouring of those blooms for Mum is outstanding. Hope you're getting back into the swing of stuff back home and the sun has certainly come home with you. Thanks for that and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back ! You do it with two fabulous cards Sarah ! Your F-I-L card is so fun, very creative ! And I love your Mum's card too ! Very delicate with these soft colours ! Love the calligraphy of your Mum and Dad stamps ! Have a great week !
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! Sorry you had to come back to a proverbial wet washcloth in the face! It certainly didn't stop you from making two fabulous cards, Sarah! Mum's is gorgeous, but it is your FIL's that I really got a kick out of. Pinning that one cuz I have some little balloon and egg dies and some little glasses dies ... he looks a lot like the Mister! Thank you for the inspiration!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks in Spain, wow... I'm not envious at all! ;) Sounds amazing! Your cards for your mum and dad look great. I especially love your mum-card, you've used my current favorite Altenew stamp and your soft water coloring looks absolutely pretty. The dies in your dad-card look very fun, such a cute card! Have a nice weekend and so sorry I'm visiting so late, life has been pretty hectic the couple last weeks.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed your two weeks away Sarah, and I hope the good old British weather has perked up a bit for you now. Two fab cards here. The top one made me smile - that's such an ingenious way to use a balloon die! The patterned paper beneath the die cut panel really shows the edge off beautifully. Absolutely adore the sentiment on the second card and the flowers are beautifully delicate. Sorry I am so late visiting you but I have had serious internet problems this week xx
