I was inspired by the challenge at Less is More this weekend - birds/feathers. I decided to play with my new Sizzix dies:
I coloured some watercolour card with a range of blue sparkle pens and die cut the birds from it. I stuck the birds on the card base and splattered with blue ink. A very simple design but I like the sense of movement that the birds give.
I made a second card with the negative of the die cuts and stuck a further positive bird at the top corner. I shall link this up at Happy Little Stampers December Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.
Finally, here is a Christmas card that I made using a stamp from Woodware. Again, I used sparkle pens for the background and added some highlights to the image by removing some colour with water.
I will link this up at Addicted to Stamps where the theme is Make Your Mark and at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is Christmas/Winter Holidays.
I hope you have had a good weekend....just one left to go!

WOW! Those birds are absolutely swoon-worthy in both colourways. So classy, vibrant and dramatic! A fantastic use of your stash and super clever 2-fer ... they're the best eh! Love the little Christmas scene too with the equally striking backdrop! Thanks for playing along at Less is More - we always love it when you do. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome set of cards, Sarah. Love positive / negative twofers and both of your bird cards are absolutely gorgeous. Fabulous job watercolouring the panel and arranging the birds to create movement. Thank you for joining us this week at Less is More. xx
ReplyDeleteTotally in love with your cards ! These 2 birds flight cards are a feast for the eyes! Even more to my eyes with this beautiful blue! I just love it ! ReplyDeleteWOW! Jaw dropped to the floor again Sarah (you really must stop making such al=mazing cards - I'm getting bruised. lol). Absolutely awestruck with your birds dies - both those cards look incredible but the white space ticks all the boxes on the first one. Bravo! Thanks for sharing that one with us at Less is More xx
ReplyDeleteWow, Sarah, these are fabulous. The bird die cuts look awesome, and you're right about the movement they give, really impressive and effective. And there's something so stylish about deep blue and white...love them!
