Dragons

Hello!

I hope that you and your families are staying well and safe during this difficult time.  It is heartening to see so many crafters supporting each other online - we are lucky to have such a caring creative community!   As a small online business it means a lot to know that you are out there :)

I wanted to share a few dragon themed cards that I have made this week using our new Dragon Silhouettes stencil and Dragon Scales.

I used Andy Skinner lava paste through the stencil, heated it to create the texture and then painted/dry brushed to create the colour.  I cut him out and placed him over an ink blended background.  The stamp is from our Adventure stamp set.

I shall link this card up at Inkspirational where we are featuring animals - real or magical.

I used the other dragon silhouette from the stencil in the same way on this card:

I added it to a background made using our Dragon Scales stencil.  The texture that the lava paste creates is awesome!

I hope you like these mythical makes.  Here are the products that I used:

You can buy them in store at www.funkyfossil.co.uk.

See you again soon!

Explore the World

Hello!

I wanted to play along with the fab challenge over at Less is More - particularly as this is their 9th birthday month :)  The challenge is tiny and few which was quite difficult.  Although I like white space I found it really difficult to use minimal supplies!

This is the card that I made:

I simply masked a circle and inked it with blue and green inks so that it looked a bit like earth before stamping a few of the small elements from our Adventure stamp set.  And it is a one layer card!

I hope you like this CAS design.  Although there are some large focal images and sentiments in the stamp set, there are smaller elements too.....Adventure

The challenge is sponsored by the amazing Uniko too.....they are celebrating their 8th birthday this month :)

Thanks for stopping by, Sarah x

More CAS cards

Hello!

I have been having fun this week playing with some of our new stencil designs which are now available in store at www.funkyfossil.co.uk.  There are designs to suit male or female cards, CAS cardmakers and mixed media fans!  Here are a few that I have made which are more CAS.

First up is this lovely bold Protea bloom.  It is a quick way to make a card front - add a sentiment and your done!

I simply inked the flower with distress oxides and added some splatters.  I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where there is a Floral Frenzy.

Next up is our new Grid Stencil and Micro Squares.  These are fab for adding layers and interest to cards - particularly male designs.

I simply inked through the grid in pale blue and green, fading out from the centre and stamped the image from our Adventure stamp set over the top.  I love the way that the grid is showing through the stamped image!  I did also use the micro squares as part of the fade out but they are hard to see on this picture.....

I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge where the theme is positive.  I think that the Adventure set has a really positive vibe!

I inked through the grid and the micro squares on this card front varying the colour and fading towards the card centre before adding some stamped elements from the Adventure set again.

I hope you like these new stencils....

More Adventures.....

Hello!

The challenge at Time Out is to make something inspired by an item of clothing from your wardrobe - it is such a cool idea that I had to play along :)  I used our new Adventure stamp set to make this card:

The mountain and treeline are inspired by one of my t-shirts:

I have made another card using a sentiment from the Adventure set combined with our new Angel Wings stencil:

I inked through the stencil with blue distress oxides and brushed a light dusting of perfect pearls at the top of wings.  I white heat embossed the sentiment on some dark blue card and added that to the card.

I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the theme is Wings.

I hope that you like these cards.  Here are the products that I used which are available to buy at www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

A few more ideas....

Hello!

Thank you for your positive response and feedback to our new stamp sets which were released for sale yesterday - you can see the launch post here and there is still time to comment to be in with a chance of winning the entire release!

I wanted to share a few more ideas with you - as you can imagine, I have been making a lot of samples with these new sets.....

You don't always need to use the focal images from the Adventure set - here I just used the feathers and a sentiment:

I shall link up at Less is More where the challenge is a one layer card and off centre stamping.

The Adventure set also plays well with so many of our other products at www.funkyfossil.co.uk including our mdf artboards, mdf stag and tree elements and our stencils.  Here I used Retro Starburst, Messy Rainbows, In to the Wild and Birds in Flight.

I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where we are making pieces of home decor.

And finally I wanted to share another card made using Blooming Birthday.  I love the clean florals on this set and repeat stamped them on a DL card.

Here are the products that I have used today:

Hello!

Finally, our five new stamp sets are available for sale at www.funkyfossil.co.uk :)  Hopefully this release has a stamp set for every taste and style and you have been inspired by our preview posts this week!

There are 3 A6 stamp sets - Quirky Owls, Blooming Birthday and Serenity:

And 2 A5 stamp sets - Adventure and Scandi Home:

We want to celebrate the release with a giveaway of all 5 sets to one lucky person drawn at random from comments left on this and the DT blogs/insta feeds.  You have until midnight on Wednesday 29 January to leave a comment :)

Here are a few more cards that I have made with these sets:

I have used one of the fab focal images from Adventure along with our Distressed Diamonds and Splatter stencils.  I also made my own washi by stamping the swallow images on to some mop up rice paper.

This card features images from Scandi Home white embossed on grey with one of the corner stamps creating the patterned red background.

Here is Serenity which features the yoga silhouette against an alcohol ink circle with the cosmic symbols stamped in pale pink in the background.

I haven't even got time to show you more of the cards that I have made with Blooming Birthday and Quirky Owls as I want you to be able to check out the inspiring makes from the DT.  They have created such beautiful projects with these stamps:

Remember, every comment that you leave will increase your chances of winning the whole release!

I would love to know which of the sets are your favourite - leave me a comment to tell me what you think :)

Funky Fossil January Release - Adventure

Hello!

It is our third day of previews of the 5 new stamp sets which will be available to buy at www.funkyfossil.co.uk from Saturday at 9am.  If are not already a subscriber to our newsletter, now would be a great time to go over to the store and subscribe as all subscribers will receive a code with an exclusive discount tomorrow.

Today we are sharing designs made with our new A5 stamp set - Adventure.  This is packed full of outdoor imagery and sentiments.  I think that it is just that little bit different!  Here are a few examples of what I have been making:

On my first card I simply stamped the focal image twice and used a circle mask for the sun.

I love the feathers that come with this set and the way that they coordinate with the sentiments.  I simply stamped them multiple times and coloured in bright shades to create a background and stamped the sentiment on black for a 'chalkboard' effect.

I have been completely blown away by the designs that the DT have put together with this set.  You can find their inspirational makes here:
