I hope you are enjoying a sunny Saturday and are ready for our next challenge at Less is More! It is one layer week and the theme is clockwork/time.
I remembered the one layer rule when making my cards for a change and this is what I came up with:
This card is very simple but I love the Tim Holtz stencil/mask which creates a striking background for the sentiment from Clarity Stamps. I dusted Pumice Stone distress ink over the stencil to create the soft background.
I masked off the top third of this card and dusted the bottom section with Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress inks before stamping the watch from Uniko randomly. I drew a black line across the top and stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant.
Only two makes from me this week but I hope they give you some ideas for your own clockwork/time inspired creations! The rest of the Less is More DT have more fab designs to share with you too.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Sarah x
These are fab, Sarah! The top one reminds me of old stone carvings and has a wonderful engraved look in the photo, and I love the elegant simplicity of card 2.
ReplyDeleteSuper makes Sarah! The terrific neutrals on the first card are so elegant and your ink dusting is so delicate - just like it has been air brushed. Adore the watch face image that you used on the second card. Some great inspiration.

2 Fabby and excellent one layer makes Sarah and I love them both. I bought my stencil specifically for this challenge and almost cried when I saw you've used a similar one. Hope the different colours don't make them look too samey - yours is miles better anyway! Have a fab week and no slacking in that sunshine! Just bring some back for us eh!!! x

ReplyDeleteLove how you used the mask on the first one, while the second is classic CAS love them both.
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards - especially the first one with your gorgeous sponging and wonderful sentiment!
ReplyDeleteYou cards are very inspirational - as usual! That sentiment on the first one is so true... Especially for us crafters: Will I live long enough to use all my supplies???
ReplyDeleteBrilliant cards Sarah. I have a similar clock stencil and never quite sure how to use it but you have given me inspiration by using a fabulous large sentiment stamp as a focal point. Sue
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I especially like the stamping of the sentiment stamped over the soft blended image.
ReplyDeleteLove this card - I have this mask somewhere in the back of the cupboard - I should dig it out
ReplyDeleteI love how you said 'dusted', Sarah, because your light hand with the DI gives that clock a soft look.
ReplyDeleteboth cards are amazing and the first one is so interesting, wow.
ReplyDeleteSorry, late again! haha
ReplyDeleteI've loved your first card since I saw it on the DT blog, Pumice Stone was the perfect ink colour for this, super duper classy x
