Take It Make It Challenge

Hello!

Well we have made it to the first Friday in September which means that it is time for another challenge over at the Craft Stamper Magazine blog.  It is a really easy challenge to take part as anything goes along as your project features stamping of some kind :)

I was playing with my alcohol inks at the weekend and came up with this mini scene:

I simply dropped a range of alcohol inks in blues and greens on to yupo paper and moved them around until I was happy with how they looked.  I like spritzing with blending solution to create a speckled look, using an air can (for cleaning keyboards) to blow the inks in to each other and simply letting them merge and blend.  Once they were dry I used my new Alcohol Lift Ink from Ranger to stamp some details in to the scene using a combination of stamps from Studio Light and Visible Image.  I also stamped some elements in flitterglue and used gilding flakes to add some gold highlights to the scene before adding a few sweet mdf turtles from Sticker Kitten which I had painted with Imagine Crafts Starlights paint.  I matted the scene on to dark blue card and framed it in a white frame to create a piece of home decor.

I hope you like it!  I was really pleased with how it turned out.  The alcohol lift ink is really fab for adding texture and depth in to your alcohol ink backgrounds.

You have the whole month to play along with us at Craft Stamper so do share your projects with us.  We have a fab prize for you this month too:

See you there :)

Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge

Hello!

Can you believe that we are in August already?!  It is time for another challenge at Craft Stamper - Anything Goes as long as your project features stamping.

I wanted to take the opportunity to use one of the gorgeous stamps that I have just received from the talented Lesia Zgharda stamps.  I love the delicate detail of the designs....I would like to buy up the whole store!

I stamped the lovely focal image in dark navy ink and then inked through my Forest Foliage stencil in black ink on dark blue card.  I clear embossed the image and die cut a circle from the centre.  The sentiment is from My Favourite Things.

I hope you like this card and join us for the August challenge at Craft Stamper :)

Craft Stamper Take it Make It Challenge

Hello!

I am popping in this morning to share some inspiration to mark the beginning of our July Challenge over at Craft Stamper.  As always with Take It Make It, the challenge is Anything Goes as long as you use stamping in some aspect of your design.

I decided to break out the fab Hooray stamp set from Concord and 9th to make this card:

I stamped the 3 part sentiment in different shades of Altenews Sea Shore ink set.  The stars that come with the set were stamped on the card base in the same shades and a few elements were added in Hero Arts Navy ink.

I hope you like it and are able to find the time to play along with us this month.  The rest of the DT have fab inspiration to share over at the Craft Stamper blog.

Afro and Alcohol Inks

Hello!

I am here with a reminder card for the current Take It Make It challenge over at Craft Stamper.   I used my afro stencil (available in my Folksy store) with a gelli plate and alcohol inks after watching a YouTube video by Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamp.

Basically I spread a range of alcohol inks on to my gelli plate before putting the stencil down.  I spritzed some blending solution over yupo paper and placed the stencil on that before running through my die cutting machine.  That process re-activated the alcohol inks and created a print that left the aperture as white space.  I was able to pull a separate print of the negative from the gelli plate by brayering acrylic paint over it and lifting the image on to a separate piece of card.  I hope that makes sense!!  Barbara's video explains it much more clearly :)

Once that was done, I put the stencil back in place and inked round the edge of the silhouette with black archival ink.  I then stamped a fab scribbled background stamp from Dina Wakeley through the aperture and added one of her sentiment stamps.

Sorry for such a long explanation.  I had never thought of using alcohol inks on my gelli plate before and really liked how this came out.  There is more inspiration from the talented DT over at Craft Stamper.  As long as you have used stamping on your project, anything goes so it could be easier to play along.  Our sponsor this month is the fabulous Uniko - Bev's range of stamps and stencils is amazing :)

Craft Stamper May Challenge

Hello!

Today I am sharing my latest card for the May Take It Make It challenge over at the Craft Stamper blog.  It is easy to take part - anything goes as long as your project features some aspect of stamping.

I stamped the fab background from Studio Light on the card base in navy ink.  I then used my surfer stencil over the top, inking in shades of blue distress oxides before adding further details from Lisa Horton's Inspiring Edges stamp set.

I hope that the combination of blues and stamped elements give a sense of movement on this simple, one layer card.

Do check out the wonderful inspiration from the DT over at Craft Stamper!

There is a fab prize from Skull and Cross Buns for a randomly chosen winner :)

Take It Make It Challenge

Hello,

The April TIMI challenge is open on the Craft Stamper blog.  It is really easy to get involved - anything goes as long as your project includes stamping :)

I stamped a background from Studio Line in black and sepia archival ink to create a variegated look and adhered a large butterfly from Inkylicious that I have watercoloured with sparkle pens - it has a shimmer in real life!  The sentiment is from Uniko Studio.

I like the combination of pretty and grungy elements - what do you think?  The rest of the DT have fab projects to inspire you over at the Craft Stamper blog and it would be great to see your creations in the gallery :)

Take It, Make It Challenge!

Hello!

I am popping in with a reminder post for this month's Take It, Make It challenge over at the Craft Stamper blog.  Anything goes as long as you use stamping on your project.  I am loving the new stamp designs from Lisa Horton and have used one of her fab collage stamps to make this simple design:

I simply inked randomly with Distress Oxides and splattered with water to create a mottled look.  The collage stamp was stamped with black archival ink.  Super simple but the large stamped design has lots of elements within it.

It will be great to see your creations in the March gallery over at Craft Stamper and I hope you enjoy all of the fab inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge

Hello!

I am popping in with a project for the February Take It, Make It challenge at Craft Stamper.  I used one of Trish Latimer's fabulous WordGirl stamps - available in her Etsy shop and one of my mdf art boards which are for sale in my Folksy shop.

I primed the mdf with white gesso and then applied some dylusions paints with a brayer before layering up with my mandala stencil and some stencilled stars.  I knocked the colour back a bit with some white paint and then stamped some Stamploration stamps in archival black to add grungy elements.  The stream of stars is from Uniko.  I stamped the girl on some watercolour card that I had coloured with Pixie Powders and then added further colour with watercolour pencils and highlights with a white paint pen.

I hope you like it!
