Festive Plaid

Hello!

Things have been quite hectic here and I haven't had the chance to spend much time in my craft room but I did finally get the chance to sneak away this afternoon to make a card for the current challenge at CASology where the cue card is Plaid:

I always associate plaid with Christmas and as I need to get on with making some Christmas cards this seemed the way to go!  I simply die cut this reindeer from WPlus9 and popped it up over some plaid paper that I have had for ages.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I will also link up at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge as it is Anything Goes week.

I hope you have had a great weekend.

ATCAS Challenge #71

Hello!

I am dropping by with a card for the latest challenge at Addicted to CAS where the code word chosen by the fabulous Joanna is Blue.

I immediately thought of this sentiment:

I simply stamped it on to die cut panel an used the panel to position some ink splatters from a Tim Holtz stencil.  I thought the font on the sentiment went well with the splattery/inky look!

There are so many ways you could incorporate Blue in to your cards - check out the designs from the rest of the wonderful DT to get more inspiration....

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Uniko Challenge Reminder

Hello!

We are already a week in to the latest challenge over at Uniko which is summer with the optional twist of using the photo below.  Firstly, here is my reminder card:

and here is the photo inspiration - lots of hearts, a sweet house, flowers, sugary colours....loads of ways you could go with this one!  As you can see above I focused on the hearts and colours this week and I white embossed the wonder hearts banners from the Garlands Galore set and inked over with a range of distress inks - spun sugar, worn lipstick, milled lavender etc.  The sentiment and heart are from the Always and Forever set.

Check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT and from our fab GDs - Darnell and Wiebke!

Got to go - today is my last day in my current job and things are a bit chaotic :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Genius

Hello,

There are a few school inspired challenges on the go at the moment which have inspired me to create this very simple black and white card.  I was always hopeless at anything mathematical at school so anyone who knows what this graph means is a genius as far as I am concerned :)

I don't know where the stamp is from (it is an old, woodblock one that I don't actually remember acquiring!) and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.  I put a strip of black glitter card down the side and popped the white panel up over it to jazz the design up a bit.

I will link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge which is Back to School.  My boys are back to school on 8 September so still have 2 weeks to go.  They have had an amazing summer visiting my brother and his family in Boston and then visiting more family in Warsaw.  However, even they are starting to look forward to a return to some routine :)

Thanks for stopping by - I hope your summer has been great!

Number

Hello!

I try and play along at CASology whenever I can and this week's cue card is Number.  I have had this Penny Black number die for ages but not got round to using it yet so had to have a play....

I hadn't realised until I made this card that Kymona had used the same die.....great minds :)

I inked up a piece of cardstock with a range of distress inks - Seedless Preserve, Dusty Concord, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers and splattered watter over it to create a mottled look.  I then cut it out with the die and layered up on a few layers.  I combined the die with this fab sentiment from My Favourite Things.  The painted look prompted me to add some splatters in the corners.

I hope you like my inky number card.  This die is great fun....

Uniko Challenge #24

Hello!

Finally, I am back in the UK after a few holidays and visits to family which have been fab.  I have really been looking forward to getting back to crafting though and probably need to start thinking about Christmas crafting too :)

However, today I am here with our latest challenge over at Uniko Studio which is a theme of summer with the optional twist of using this great photo inspiration:

It was just crying out for the gorgeous house from Home Sweet Home which I combined with the hearts banner from Garlands Galore.

I simply stamped and heat embossed the house and masked it to ink the sky and sun behind it.  I added a die cut heart to the house along with the garlands to reflect all of the heart elements in the photo.

We have fabulous GDs joining us for this challenge....Darnell from DJkardkreations and Wiebke from Komma Designed.  Darnell obviously needs no introduction other than to say that her blog is the most fun and welcoming place in blogland (and the cards aren't bad either!) and Wiebke's blog is full of inspiring creations.  The rest of the fab DT have lots of ideas to share with you too.

I look forward to seeing how you are inspired by the photo!

As my card features masking I will also link up at AAA Cards and at Happy Little Stampers which both have masking inspired challenges at the moment :)

Thanks as always for stopping by,

Elegant Congratulations

Hello!

Just stopping by with a quick post featuring the beautiful Persian Motifs set by Altenew.  I have seen some amazing cards made with this set and my colouring is very basic compared to some of the talented card makers who have inspired me to buy it!  All the same I do like the simple card that I have made:

I coloured the image with pencils and combined with a simple sentiment from the same set. The panel is popped up over with a strip of blue cardstock at the top to highlight the colour of the flowers.

It is the kind of card that could be used for lots of occasions and will be useful to have in my stash.  I will enter it into this week's Less Is More challenge which is themed 'congratulations'.

Thanks for stopping by - see you again soon!

Time Out #38

Hello!

We have a great nautical themed photo inspiration for you over at Time Out:

I was taken with the stripes and pops of red and general nautical theme:

I stamped a striped background from Simon Says Stamp in navy ink and adhered a die cut anchor on it for the pop of red.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamp's Ocean Bound set.

Our GD for this challenge is the fabulous Anni from Annikarten - her style is so cool and her blog is full of CAS creations and gorgeous colouring.  Check out more fab inspiration from the DT over at Time Out too!

Here is what I came up with:

I love this sweet image (from There She Goes which are sadly no longer available) and coloured the friends with Spectrum Noir pencils.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Missing Ewe

Hello!

Just popping in with a quick card for this week's fun challenge at Less is More - The Eyes Have It!  It is a one layer week too.....

I immediately thought of the crazy sheep from Hero Arts which I have stacked on top of each other with the punny sentiment.  A bit of colouring, a touch of Wink of Stella and glossy accents on they eyes is all I have used to embellish this simple design.

I hope it makes you smile :)

Uniko Revisited

Hello!

Today we are revisiting one of the lovely sets from Uniko.  Bev designs some gorgeous floral stamps and I am using Beautiful Blooms II.

I have made a simple one layer card by masking and stamping the flowers around the fabulous large sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #1.  I love that the flowers come in bold and outline along with some great details - they are very elegant!

The rest of the DT have more inspirational uses for the Beautiful Blooms to share with you over at Uniko.

Time Out #37

Hello!

We have a lovely challenge for you at Time Out - it is a word inspiration:

Friendship is Golden.

You can use all or any part of the phrase to inspire your creation and I decided to focus on friendship with this fun sentiment:

Friendship may be golden but it is even nicer when it comes with chocolate :)  I stamped and embossed this sentiment from Inkadinkado on pale pink card and combined it with some die cut paperclip embellishments from My Favourite Things.

We have a fantastic GD for this challenge - Cornelia Wenokor from Stempel Spass.  Cornelia works magic with inks, stencils and stamps and has a great design style.  Her blog is full of vibrant cards and is well worth a visit.  Check out what Cornelia and the fab DT have made to inspire you at Time Out.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kit #2

Hello!

Do you remember back in June when the lovely Hazel from Hazel's Paper Designs set up a mini kit club with me and Shona from Twine Around.  We had lots of fun with the first kit which Hazel put together and are back with the second kit which I compiled:

The idea behind the kit is that we send a few hand stamped images and a small number of papers and embellishments to make 2 or more cards.  I obviously went with a coffee theme!!

Here are the cards that I made:

I used the dotted ombre paper as the base and layered elements over the top.  I coloured in and cut out the coffee cup and cut out the coffee sentiment.  I hand stitched the little banner at the top of the card too.  This isn't my usual style but I quite liked the combination of elements.

I coloured the cup in with spectrum noir pencils and wink of stella and combined it with the inked and glazed the wood veneer heart.  I die cut the Stamplorations sentiment to create a small label and die cut the light pink and kraft card with dies from WPlus9.

I can't wait to see what Shona and Hazel have come up with - it is great fun to play with a small number of elements and see what you can do with them!  I hope you like our second kit creations :)

I will link up for a third time at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes.

Addicted to CAS #69

Hello!

It is time for our next challenge at Addicted to CAS which this time is hosted by the talented Bhavana with the code word Banners.  Here is what I made:

I used a stars and moon banner die from Memory Box against an inked sky splattered with water and some shimmer spray.  I coloured the banners in with promarkers and added a sentiment from Mama Elephant at the bottom.

There is lots more fab inspiration from the DT over at the Addicted to CAS blog and from our fantastic guest designer, Linda Beeson from Papercutting Kind of Day.

I will also link up at the Anything Goes theme over at this week's Simon's Wednesday Challenge.
