Uniko Challenge Reminder

Hello!

Just a quick post to remind you about the Uniko Challenge where our theme is Spring with an Optional Twist of Easter:

I am still playing with the lovely flowers from Flower Power #1 - they are so versatile and look spring fresh in pinks, yellows and purples.  The graphic thanks sentiment is stamped over the top.

I hope you can find time to play along with us before the challenge closes on 21 April.  Check out the rest of the inspiration from the DT over at Uniko.

Less is More #321

Hello!

Today at Less is More we are asking you to use a frame in some way on your CAS design:

I have a couple of ideas to share with you:

First up I gold embossed a frame from Paper Smooches and used some fun stamps from Stamplorations for the sentiment and paintbrush.  I inked through a Tim Holtz stencil in Picked Raspberry in the corner of the card.

I decided that an embroidery hoop would make a nice frame on my second card and used a stitching inspired set from Neat and Tangled to create the design with their hoop die and stamps.  I watercoloured the floral images and I covered the card base with a textured gauze paper.

I hope you like the ways that I have created frames on these cards - I look forward to seeing what you do with the theme.  The rest of the fab DT have lots more ideas to share with you over at Less is More

Thank you, as always, for stopping by,

Less is More #320

Hello!

Well, we are steaming our way through March and on to another challenge over at Less is More.  This week we have a great stash buster which is to use Washi on your design.  I don't often use washi on my cards and tend to use it more often to hold dies down when putting them through my machine!

Here are a couple of cards which incorporate washi tape:

I used washi tape down the side of my card and echoed the bronze copper foiling of the triangles with a geometric stamped design from Altenew.  The fun sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

I used washi either side of the central panel in this next card:

The butterfly is from Concord and 9th and is inked in peacock feathers distress ink and spritzed with shimmer.  I die cut some dotted lines to add a feeling of flight and the sentiment is from WPlus9.

I hope you like my washi creations - I am sure that you can come up with much more creative ways to incorporate washi in to your design!  The DT have lots more inspiration for you over at Less is More too.

Thank you for stopping by,

Uniko Challenge

Hello,

We are starting our latest challenge over at Uniko and the theme is Spring with an Optional Twist of Easter.  I am definitely starting to feel a spring in my step as the days get lighter and slightly milder :)

I focused on spring flowers and soft colours for my cards:

I stamped the geometric style flowers from Flower Power #1 round the edge of the panel - they haven't shown up very well in my photo but are there in pale pink, yellow, lilac and peach.  The sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #3 is stamped in grey.

I carried on stamping in these spring colours on this card.  I die cut the sentiment (from MFT) out of card stamped with the flowers.  A drop shadow from grey card provides a bit of definition.  The second part of the sentiment comes from Simply Said II.

The rest of the DT have more springtime inspiration for you over at the Uniko blog.  The challenge is open until 21 April so there is plenty of time to play along.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Leafy Scene

Hello!

I hope your week is going well.  I thought I would drop by with a quick post to play along with this week's challenge at CASology where the cue card is Foliage.  Having made some leafy cards for this week's Less is More challenge, I decided to do something a bit different:

I inked through a leaf stencil from Clarity Stamps to create a scene.  The images are from Inkylicious and the sentiment is from Altenew.    I will also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is a Bit of Green - which features in my inky scene.

I was inspired to make this card as a smaller scale version of a scene I created at the weekend:

I cut a hare aperture with a sizzix die and popped that up over an inky sunset scene.  Framed, it creates a lovely picture.  I have added it to my Folksy shop :)

Uniko Revisited

Hello!

After a busy birthday month over at Uniko and a fab new release, we are taking the opportunity to revisit an older Uniko set this month.  As spring and easter are just around the corner, it seems the perfect time to get Some Bunny out for a play :)

As it is springtime, I decided to sit Some Bunny amongst some cheerful flowers:

I stamped and masked the bunny before stamping flowers from Flower Power #5 and leaves from Fun Flower.  It is great to see how these stamps all work so well together.  The sentiment is from the Cosmos set.  I coloured the bunny in with coloured pencils.

The rest of the DT have more inspiration showcasing ways that you can use this sweet stamp over at the Uniko blog!

Less is More #319

Hello!

Thank you for stopping by today as we start another challenge at Less is More :)  This week we are making one layer cards and the theme is leaves.

This was a good opportunity to use a Neat and Tangled stamp which I have not inked up before:

I stamped and masked two leaves and coloured them with pencils.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I decided to make a card just with the foliage images from Altenew's Beautiful Day set and stamped them in a wreath.  The sentiment is from the same set.

A quick and simple post from me but I hope you like my two leafy designs.  The talented DT have lots more ideas to share with you over at Less is More

I hope you stop by again soon,

Flowers and Triangles

Hello!

I wanted to play along with a few challenges this week so am stopping by with a quick post....First up is a card for The Flower Challenge.  I can't believe they are on the 6th challenge already and I haven't played along yet.  It is Anything Goes so it is the perfect opportunity to use one of my new favourite floral stamps by Concord and 9th:

I stamped the petals of the flowers in distress inks and watercoloured them to smooth the colour.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  As this card features a floral design, I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge which is for a special lady/girl.

I made my next card to play along with AAA Cards where the fab theme is the Oscar Red Carpet.  I was inspired by this lovely geometric design worn by Priyanka Chopra.  Hopefully you can see that I used the soft greys and triangles featured on the dress using a favourite but long neglected set from Altenew.  The sentiment is a die cut from Stamplorations.  I like the monochrome look and geometric pattern.

Less is More #318

Hello!

Well, we are now in March and spring can't come quickly enough for me!  We are welcoming in a new month at Less is More with a colour challenge which is to use mainly teal.  As this is one of my favourite colours I was more than happy to oblige :)

I have 3 CAS and simple cards to share with you:

There is no stamping on this card.....I have simply die cut this beautiful flower (not sure if it is Poppy Stamps or Memory Box) and inlaid all of the petals with a teal card.  It took a while but was quite relaxing!  I curved a Penny Block thanks die along the stem.

I used my new favourite flowers on this card - they are from Concord and 9th and just looks so cool!  The front petal is overstamped with Hero Arts ombre ink to try and create some light and shade.  The sentiment is from the same set.

Finally I have used the gorgeous Altenew Beautiful Day stamps and combined them with a die cut sentiment from Concord and 9th.  I dropped the top sentiment stamp as I was putting it down at the very end so have stuck the sentiment over it which really bugs me but I didn't want to throw it away so far in to the card!!

I hope you like my teal creations and do check out what the amazing DT have done with this colour over at Less is More.  As we are at the beginning of a new month we also have a new sponsor - Dies to Die For:

Uniko and Time Out

Hello!

I am back for a quick mid week post to celebrate Time Out's 3rd birthday!  Sandie and Nonni are the two inspirational crafters who started this popular challenge which is one of my favourites.  Congrats to all of the fab DT over at Time Out who provide us with such beautiful designs.

As Uniko is sponsoring Time Out, the Uniko DT are playing along.  The theme is Love/Friendship with the optional twist of spotlight stamping.  I didn't use the twist but made 2 cards using Uniko stamps:

I used the fabulous Originally Organic set to frame various Uniko sentiments.  Have you seen the Organic Additions set that has just been released - it is gorgeous!

I used the funky Uniko Style set to create this card in warm oranges with grey tones.  I deliberately offset the outlines slightly to create a printed look and think it works well with the loose style of the florals.  I can't stop playing with these stamps!

I hope that you find the time to play along with Time Out and check out all of the inspiration and fun over at their blog :)
