Uniko Release Day Blog Hop!

Hello!

At last the time has come when you can get your hands on Uniko's newest release.  There are so many fun and gorgeous elements of the release and I have a few cards to share using some of the stamps and stencils.....

First up I used the zebra stencil with black sparkle texture paste and added colour to the sentiment with pencils.

On this card I have used the classic Background Builders to create a pattern with the solid stripes combined with the outline sentiments.  It reminds me of an old fashioned gent's handkerchief (or is that just me?!)

I have used the Fleur de Lis stencil on this card.  I went over the stencil with some texture paste and sprinkled rose gold embossing powder randomly over it while still wet.  I heat embossed it to give the design a touch of distressed glamour!

Finally, I went over the tiger stencil with black ink and then clear heat embossed it over the opt of a brusho background.  I love the vibrancy of this design!

I won't keep you any longer as you will want to hop over to the rest of the DT blogs to see what they have made with this release.  The products will be available to buy online at www.uniko.co.uk from 9pm (GMT) tonight.

Thank you for stopping by this week.  I look forward to seeing what you make with your Uniko goodies!

Uniko Introducing.....Wild and Animal Print Stencils

Hello!

I hope that you are enjoying this week of inspiration using the fab new release from Uniko which goes live tomorrow!  Today is the last introducing post and Bev has put together a fab sentiment set with some animal print stencils.  They are so much fun :)

I had to ink up the Zebra print in brightly coloured distress inks:

The sentiment is a great focal point and the outline lettering gives you lots of options.

I decided to use the tiger print stencil next over an inked orange background:

I stencilled through a heart aperture and this time I coloured the lettering of the sentiment in and cut out each letter to arrange them over the heart.

I hope you like these cards and check out the rest of the DT and our GD, Keren Baker's, fab ideas with these products.  We will have a release day blog hop tomorrow so stop by to see some more Uniko goodness :)

Uniko Introducing....Anchors and Fleur de Lis stencils, Nautical Stripes and Nautical Treasures stamp sets

Hello!

We are in the middle of the week already and back with another bit of inspiration using Uniko's fab new release which will be available for sale from Friday this week.  The Nautical Treasures stamp set is an older set that Bev is bringing back as it goes perfectly with the anchors, fleur de lis and stripes that are coming out this week.

I have paired the ship with the anchor stencil to create a cheerful nautical birthday card:

I created a background by inking through the anchor stencil once in blue and again in red.  I also stamped the compass image from the Nautical Treasures set a few times in pale grey.  I cut out the ship and popped it up on foam pads to give it some lift against the busy background.

I think that this would work well for a masculine birthday card.

The rest of the DT and our super talented (and lovely) GD, Keren Baker all have ideas to share with you so head over to the Uniko blog to see their makes.

We will be back tomorrow with some more products before the release day celebrations on Friday.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko Introducing.....Large Background Tropical Paradise

Hello!

I am back again with another great new stamp from Uniko's upcoming release which will be available to buy from this Friday.  The large tropical paradise set provides a wonderful background to lots of summer themed cards and goes perfectly with Uniko's Paradise and Paradise Leaves stamp sets :)

Again, I have only had the chance to make one card with this stamp - here it is:

I stamped out the background and cut it out with a polaroid style die to create both the insert and the frame.  I stamped and coloured the toucan and hibiscus and added them to the design along with a sentiment.

I will be using this leafy background with lots of other images too.  Check out the designs that the rest of the DT have shared to inspire you :)

We have more designs to share tomorrow.....

Thanks for stopping by,

Uniko Introducing....Background Builders Classics and Sentiments Outlined

Hello!

Uniko have a fab new release coming out this Friday....there are new stencil and stamp designs which are sure to keep you crafting through the summer :)  Today we are introducing two stamp sets which are definitely essentials for your stamping stash.  The Background Builder border stamps are so versatile and perfect for adding an accent or full background to your design and I love the outline sentiments.  They look so clean and are the perfect size!

Unfortunately I have been very short of time over the past few weeks so only have one card to share with you today:

I stamped the striped border down each edge of the card base and the dotty line in various colours on a panel of white card which I adhered over the top.  I coloured the outline sentiment in black with the central word coloured in complementary colours to highlight it.

I shall link up at Seize the Birthday where the optional twist is Rainbow and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are making our own backgrounds.

The rest of the DT have fab cards to share with you and I am sure that you will see these stamps popping up again over the coming week!  We have more new designs to share with you tomorrow so I hope that you will stop by again :)

Three Kings

Hello,

I love creating scenes within stencil apertures which is what I have done with this simple card made using my Christmas Star stencil:

I simply inked through the aperture with Chipped Sapphire and Fossilised Amber distress oxides.  The 3 Kings are a stamp from Clarity.  I added a few dots of glue and glitter in the sky to create some sparkly stars.

I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge where the optional twist is sparkle and at CAS on Friday where the theme is to use a stencil.

I hope you like this card :)

Pretty Pastels

Hello!

I have a new stencil in my shop - Elegant Foliage - and wanted to see how it would look combined with my Beautiful Inside and Out stamp set.  I have used a tone on tone texture paste through the stencil to create background interest for the floral branch:

I watercoloured the branch in a pale wash to add some delicate colour and fussy cut it out.  I added a die cut sentiment to complete the card.

I shall link up at The Flower Challenge where the theme is pastels.

This is what I used to make the card:

Alcohol Lift

Hello!

I enjoyed playing along with this month's theme at the CAS Stencil Challenge where we are using alcohol inks/lift techniques with our stencils.  Here is a second card that I have made using an alcohol ink background in shades of blue.

I used alcohol lift ink through my Messy Rainbows stencil to create the wavy effect and added a watercoloured whale from my Whale of a Time stamp set.

I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is Life on the Ocean Waves and also at CAS Mix Up Challenge where alcohol ink/lift is the featured technique.

This is a great technique and another really fun way to use stencils!

Thanks as always for stopping by,

Watercolour Whales

Hello!

I had a piece of card on my desk that I had used to mop up some distress inks from my craft mat and decided to use it as a watery background for a couple of playful whales from my Whale of a Time stamp set.

I watercoloured and cut out each of the whales - they are a nice easy shape :)  I also added some inking through my Messy Rainbows stencil to add a bit more of a wavy feel to the watercolour background.

I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where this week's theme is Life on the Ocean Waves.  I shall also link up at Seize the Birthday without the optional topping of sunshine and at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge without the optional twist of wings.

Here is what I used to make the card:

Stencil and Alcohol Ink

Hello!

I hope that you have been enjoying your weekend.  I haven't had much time to get in to the craft room recently but the new challenge at CAS Stencil had me intrigued so I had to give it a go!

This month's challenge hosted by Cathy is to use alcohol inks/alcohol lift with your stencils.  Here is what I made:

I created a rainbow style background on yupo with alcohol inks and placed my leafy mandala stencil over the top before applying alcohol lift ink with a foam applicator.  It took a little while to do - the stencil was hinged on the paper so that I could lift it to check progress and see where more ink needed to be applied.  When you lift the stencil and wipe over with kitchen towel, the image becomes much clearer.  I was pleased with the effect - it looks like a tie die fabric!

I simply placed the yupo behind a circle aperture and sponged some distress inks lightly around the frame so it looks as if the colours are bleeding out. The sentiment is from MFT.

I shall also link up at Time Out Challenges where the word inspiration is - With freedom, flowers and the moon who could not be happy? and at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge where the challenge is to use negative space.

Here is the stencil that I used which is available to buy from my store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

AAA Birthday #3

Hello!

We are starting our new month long challenge over at AAA Birthday and it is all about the girls :)

I decided to go feminine and floral and used my new Beautiful Inside and Out stamps:

I simply inked the floral branch in both corners of the card and watercoloured them with distress inks.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

All you need to do to play along with us during July is to create a birthday card on the broad theme that we have set.  Check out the amazing cards that the rest of the DT have put together to get you inspired along with our fabulous GD and winner of the first challenge - Michelle Lupton!

This is the stamp set that I used:

You can buy it from my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk
