Less is More #330

Hello!

Here we are - it is another bank holiday weekend in the UK and it is the beginning of half term.  I am looking forward to a bit of a break :)  This week at Less is More our theme is Shimmer.

This is the card that I came up with:

I used the fab gem die from MFT and cut the base from silver glitter card to create a sparkly diamond.  The sentiment is also from MFT with the main word embossed in silver.  It is a very simple card but has lots of bling!  The shimmer that you add to your design may be much more subtle :)

That is all I had time to make this week but the brilliant DT have lots more shimmery inspiration for you over at Less is More!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Less is More #329

Hello!

Another busy week has hurtled by in a blur with hardly any time for crafting.  However, this week at Less is More our challenge is geometric and that is a favourite theme of mine so I couldn't resist squeezing in a few cards!

First up I stamped some triangle stamps from Altenew in bright colours with the solid triangles creating a bit of extra depth on the card base.

On my second card I combined a soft stencilled geometric background from Stamplorations with the gorgeous Lily from Uniko.  The sentiment is from Concord and 9th.

I will also link this up at Time Out as it combines elements from Hannelie's amazing card with the lily, warm colours and geometric background and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is a bit of sparkle as the lily is painted with twinkling H2Os which give it a rich shimmer and the geometric background was dusted with perfect pearls....although it doesn't show up much here!

The rest of the DT have lots of geometric inspiration over at Less is More along with our fabulous GD - Julie Beech from Crafted by Jules.

Uniko Challenge #41

Hello!

A super quick post today with a few cards for the new challenge at Uniko where the theme is masculine with an optional twist of father's day.

Uniko have some fab stamps in the range for men's cards and this is what I came up with:

I used the fab new stripe background along the bottom of the card in shades of blue ink from Altenew.  The large birthday sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments #2.

I used the wonderful explosion stamps in blues and greys to create a background for the graphic thank you sentiment (from All Occasion Sentiments #6) on this card.

I hope you are inspired to play along with us at Uniko this month!  Do check out the cards from the rest of the DT and our amazing GD the lovely and talented Hannelie from Desert Diva who needs no introduction, I am sure!

The challenge is open until 23 June so you have plenty of time to join in.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by,

Less is More #328

Hello!

Time has completely got away from me this week - work has been hectic and I haven't had time to make more than one card for this week's Less is More challenge :(  It is one layer card week and we are looking for designs which feature spots and stripes.

Our sponsor this month, Uniko, had the perfect stamp set for this challenge - Round in Circles - and this is what I came up with:

I stamped this using my new Tim Holtz Stamping Platform - I do like it :)  Hopefully it will give me crisp images and the ability to get even coverage.in the future and save lots of card blanks ending up in the bin!

I will also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Going Dotty.

I look forward to seeing your designs for this challenge.  Check out more great inspiration from the fabulous DT and our GD this week - the lovely Sue Blamey from Sue's Card Craft.

Thank you for stopping by today,

Honey, I Shrunk the Kit!

Hello,

After all of the excitement of yesterday's Uniko release, today it is time to share the cards that I have made from the latest HISTK kit that the lovely Shona has put together for us.  She put together a bumper bundle of cuteness and I wanted to make loads more cards than the four I have to share with you today!

I ombre inked the sentiment from Neat and Tangled and added this cute MFT otter.

This cat  from MFT goes perfectly with the fun sentiment and I decided to put him in the spotlight with a masked and inked ray of light.

I decided to combine this cat and fish duo with another of the sentiments.  I am hoping they are going to be friends rather than the cat having the fish for dinner!

I combined this cute yeti from MFT with a punny sentiment from the kit along with the fab die cut from Winnie and Walter (which I have wanted for ever) which I coloured with promarkers.

I can't wait to see what the other Honeys have come up with - do check out their fabulous blogs:

Hazel from Hazel's Paper Designs
Shona from Twine Around
Sarah from Sazzledazzle
Anita from Neet and Crafty.

Here is a photo of the gorgeous kit that Shona produced - thank you so much for putting it together for us x

Uniko May Release

Hello!

Here we are with the Uniko release blog hop - these are great stamps with so many options.  I shall get straight on with it as you have the other blogs to visit too :)

The pure floral lily works perfectly with the other gorgeous designs in the series - I have combined it here with the gerbera:

I coloured the images with pencils.  You could make any combination of bouquets with these stamps - they are large enough to make a striking focal point.

Here I created a wreath with images from the Happy Succulents set and watercoloured them with distress inks.

As succulents are on trend for home décor at the moment, I thought that these potted succulents would work well for a new home card.  I used the Horizontal Stripe Background Block to create the bowls.  The sentiment is from Uniko's home set.

I hope you like these new stamps as much as I do.  They coordinate beautifully with other designs in Uniko's range.  Hop along with us for a chance to win the full May release!

Less is More #327

Hello!

It is an exciting week for us at Less is More as we welcome three fantastic new members to our design team!  I am sure that if you play along with us on a regular basis you will have had the opportunity to admire gorgeous cards in our gallery from Nonni, Izzy and Trina.  I am sure you will make them feel very welcome - we certainly feel lucky to have them on board :)

As always on a Saturday morning it is time for our next challenge which, this week is a colour challenge:

I came up with 2 cards:

I do love this colour combo!  Here I paired an inked yellow sun with a sizzix bird die cute in contrasting greys.  The sentiment is from Mama Elephant.  I will also link this up at CASology where this week's cue card is Flow.

I used some fab Stamplorations did on this card with some ombre yellow inking and a grey drop shadow under the sentiment.

As we are starting a new month, we also have a new sponsor - the fabulous Uniko.  The new release goes live today so do check out the gorgeous stamps that are on offer.  I will be back at 9am with our release day blog hop :)

Uniko May Release - Introducing Pure Florals, Lily

Hello!

Uniko has added another beautiful, large floral to the popular Pure Florals series.  This has definitely become a new favourite for me!  I just loved working with these stamps:

This set comes with a range of sympathy sentiments in a beautiful font so I decided to create a monochrome card and add some pencil colouring to the lily to give the look of a sketch.  The stripes down the edge are from the new Horizontal Strip Background Block.

I do love these lilies and created a more colourful card featuring pencil colouring.

These oranges and yellows are another colourway for these vibrant lilies which I have pencil coloured.  I cut it out and set it in front of the Background Block from Uniko's last release.

These stamps are real showstoppers and a joy to colour in.  They will be available for sale tomorrow and you can see what the rest of the DT have made with them here:

I hope you will come by tomorrow as part of the release day blog hop where I shall have a few more cards to share with you :)

Thanks for your visit,

Uniko May Release - Introducing Happy Succulents

Hello,

I am back again with the next set in the fab May release from Uniko.  Succulents are very on trend at the moment and this gorgeous stamp set offers lots of possibilities!  I made several cards with these lovely images:

With some masking, I created a cluster of succulents to put in my earthenware bowl which was made from a circle die cut in half from kraft cardstock and coloured with watercolour pencils.  The succulents are coloured in pencils - I love the minty and silver greens that succulents come in!

On this card I used the fabulous succulent image in both the top and bottom corners and coloured with pencils.  The sentiment is from the same set - don't you just love that font?!

I decided to use the succulent images in different colours as they could equally be florals.  I made this card in the Uniko colours by clustering the succulents around a circle cut aperture.

This is a great set in Uniko's trademark style and you can see lots more ideas from the talented DT:

The release will be available for sale on 6 May and I am back tomorrow to introduce another set.  Not long to wait now :)

Uniko May Release

Hello!

I am popping in to share some cards made with the fab May release from Uniko which is due to go live on Saturday, 6 May.  Today we are introducing two background block stamps - Doodle Flower and Horizontal Stripe.  Each of these stamps is so versatile and will work with lots of card designs....

Firstly here is what I made with Horizontal Stripe:

I inked up the stripes with Hero Arts Navy ink and used them across the bottom of the card base and to paper piece the sails on the ship from Uniko's Nautical Treasures.  The stripes are a great width for backgrounds and for adding details too.  The sentiment is from a set coming later this week :)

The Doodle Flower background block has a lovely, loose sketchy feel:

I simply white embossed it and inked over with distress inks.

Here I stamped it several times to cover the card base in black ink and combined it with a whimsical style flower die from Sizzix.  Another sentiment from a set in this release.....

I hope you like these designs.  The rest of the DT have fab inspiration for you:

You can find more information about the May release over at the Uniko blog and I shall be back tomorrow with another gorgeous stamp set to share :)
