Pink and Blue

Hello!

I hope you are having a good weekend and enjoying some crafty time.  As it was half term this week I had a bit of a chance to catch up with myself and make a few cards for fave challenges in to the bargain!

First up I have a card for CASology where the cue card is Cure:

Quite a few people at work are struggling at the moment with coughs and colds which, so far, I have managed to avoid.  These stamps and sentiments from Paper Smooches are just perfect for this time of year :)  I simply paper pieced the box of tissues and added a strip of patterned paper at the bottom of the card.

I also wanted to play along with the masculine challenge over at AAA cards.  I do need lots of boy cards so this was a good opportunity to add to my stash.  I used a fab new sentiment die from Stamplorations and a star from MFT.  They are popped on fun foam and covered in glossy accents.  I inked through a stencil in blue and combined with some grungy Stamplorations stamps.  I will also add this card to Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes and at Stamplorations October CAS Challenge:

I REALLY should be getting on with Christmas cards but am not feeling sufficiently festive yet.  Maybe once Halloween is out of the way :)

Thanks, as always, for stopping by,

Less is More #300

Hello!

This week we are celebrating our 300th challenge at Less is More! As a result the theme is very apt - we are looking for designs which are related to Celebrations or Festivals :)

I have come up with a couple of simple celebration cards which I can add to my stash for lots of occasions:

I silver embossed the sentiment from Mama Elephant and combined it with a silver/grey patterned paper that is slightly ombre.  A few die cut stars in silver paper finish it off.

Next up I used a stamp from Altenew's Birthday Bash set and paper pieced with some mint green paper.  The sequins are die cuts from Mama Elephant and the die cut sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

How will you celebrate with us?!  The rest of the DT have more fab inspiration over at Less is More....and we are joined this week by the lovely Julie Beech from Crafted by Jules.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

October Uniko Challenge

Hello!

Just popping in with a quick reminder that Uniko's October Challenge is open until 11 November so there is still plenty of time to play along!  The theme this month is RAINBOW:

I have 2 cards to share with you today which are inspired by rainbows:

First up I stamped the solid butterfly image from the English Country Garden Butterflies set in a rainbow of colours as they fly off the card.  A strip of grey cardstock with a sentiment from Simply Said completes the design.  Very quick and simple!

I also decided to stamp and colour the main image from the recently released Marvellous Mehndi set in a rainbow of colours.  This is fast becoming one of my favourite stamps - it is so versatile.  Colouring it in is lovely and relaxing but it can also be used as an elegant outline stamp or with more mixed media effects.  And it works for any occasion too :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  Do check out the rest of the colourful inspiration from the fab Uniko DT over at the blog along with our super talented GD, Hannelie from Desert Diva.

See you again soon,

Organic Blooms

Hello,

Back with a super quick post today with another card that I managed to squeeze in over the weekend.  I have been wanting to play with the beautiful organic blooms stamps from Mama Elephant for some time so made this....

I stamped the image in archival grey ink and watercoloured with distress inks in pink and grey for a soft look.  A strip of grey card down the side of the card and a sentiment from the same set completes the design.

I will link this card up at the Think Pink challenge over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge and for a second time at the Anything Goes challenge over at Addicted to Stamps.

I hope your week has got off to a good start :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Feeling Perky!

Hello!

I have had the rare opportunity this weekend to make some cards which are not specifically for one of my DT deadlines and decided to play along with one of my favourite challenges - CASology where the cue card this week is Coffee.  That also gave me the excuse to break out a set of stamps which I have had for ages.  I bought them from Waltzingmouse but I think they are now available through Gina K Designs....

I went with a teal and grey colour combo on both cards and used the little flower detail from the coffee pot on the card base of the first card.

A strip of glitter tape adds a bit of bling on my second design :)

I will also link up at the Anything Goes Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More and to the Coffee themed challenge also going on over at Addicted to CAS.

I hope you found some time for a bit of crafty relaxation this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by,

Less is More #299

Hello!

The weeks are rolling by more quickly and we are at half term already.  The boys will be glad to have a week off and then it will be all downhill to Christmas break :)

This week at Less is More we are looking for designs which use acetate or vellum.  So many ways that you can go with this!

First up I coloured some acetate with alcohol inks and die cut it with a dragonfly die from Clearly Besotted.  The top layer is cut from white card with a bit of added shimmer from Wink of Stella.  The vines are die cut using a Penny Black stamp and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches (I think).  The white panel is popped up on the card base with a few strips of glitter paper attached.  The acetate does give the dragonfly's wings some translucency in real life!

I had to make a shaker card on a week where we are using acetate and this die from My Favourite Things makes that so easy to do!  Sorry for the shadows on the photo :(  The holly is Paper Smooches and I added glossy accents to the berry.  The shaker is filled in with white and clear sequins.

I wanted to create using vellum too but ran out of time.  I look forward to seeing what you make too.  The DT have lots of fabulous creations to share with you over at Less is More :)

Uniko Challenge #37

Hello!

It is time for a new challenge over at Uniko....and this month it is a RAINBOW colour theme :)

Who doesn't love a bright, happy rainbow?!  This is the perfect theme as we move in to the darker winter months.

This is the card that I made....

I used the fabulous graphic thanks stamp from All Occasion Sentiments #6 and coloured it in bright, rainbow markers.  The base of the card is stamped in pale grey and features stamps from the new Marvellous Mehndi set.

I hope you like it and are inspired to get colourful with us!  Check out the rest of the inspiration from the fab DT over at Uniko - we are joined by the super talented Hannelie from Desert Diva this month too.

Less is More #298

Hello!

Saturday has rolled around again and we are back with another Less is More Challenge!  This week we are looking for spiders/insects on your cards.  I searched my stash and couldn't find a single spider image so I made cards featuring a few other insects.....

This card features a dragonfly from Clarity that is silver embossed on vellum.  The central panel is popped up over the card base which has been lightly inked with a stencil in blues and greens.

On this card I used a cute little ladybird stamp from Hero Arts stamping it repeatedly in the shape of a heart.  I popped a die cut you from Avery Elle in the centre.  I coloured the ladybirds with pencils.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week.  Check out the inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over at Less is More!

Less Is More #297

Hello!

The theme at Less is More this week is Dreams - oh, and it is one layer week as well :)

Here is what I made:

Firstly I inked through a Clarity stencil of a dreamcatcher and added a Clarity sentiment.  A few splatters finished this simple design.

For my second card I inked up this stamp (I think it might be from Prima?) and embossed it in bronze embossing powder.  I inked through a square mask to create a frame and added a watch embellishment.

I hope you like these simple cards!  Check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT over at Less is More.

Uniko Release Day!

Hello,

Release Day for Uniko's October stamp sets is finally here :)  There are 5 new sets to choose from including fab sentiments, ornate images and festive designs.

Here a few cards that I haven't shared with you yet this week:

First up is a simple, one layer card featuring the images from Originally Organic.

On this card I white embossed the beautiful main image from Marvellous Mehndi and watercoloured with distress inks.  I cut it with a circle die and then used some stencilled circles to complete the design along with a sentiment from Simply Said II.

I will also link this card up with the new challenge at Virginia's View which is to create a focal point on your card.  I hope that the die cut circle, popped up and with the sentiment in the centre is the element that draws your eye on this card :).

Finally I combined images from Winter Foliage with a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #4 and some tartan patterned paper.

You will find more information about this release over at Uniko along with more fab inspiration from the DT.  I hope you enjoy hopping along with us today :)

Less is More #296

Hello!

Well, thank goodness that Saturday has rolled around again....I definitely need the weekend :)  And of course that means it is time for our next challenge at Less is More.  It is a colour theme week and the colours we are asking you to use are lilac and turquoise.

Here is what I have made:

For this card I used a new Concord and 9th butterfly die on some watercolour paper that I had smooshed with distress inks.  I left the bits in the butterfly as I really liked the way it looked!  I used a clarity circle stencil to add the dots and a Stamplorations die for the sentiment which is die cut 3 or 4 times for a bit of dimension.  The other part of the sentiment is from Altenew.

I shall also link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge which is the ever popular Anything Goes.

Here is a card that I made for the Uniko release blog hop - the new release is available for purchase from today so do check out the beautiful new sets.  I used the Marvellous Mehndi set and white embossed it before watercolouring over the top.  The same clarity stencil added the dotty background.  The sentiment is from Uniko's new Simply Said II set.

This third card is probably too dark for lilac and turquoise but I thought that I would share it anyway!  I used some brushos on watercolour card and popped a white die cut over the panel.  I added a few sequins and a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I hope you have fun with this colour combo.  I don't usually use these colours but they grew on me once I got going :)  The rest of the Less is More DT have fabulous inspiration for you over at the blog and our lovely sponsor this month is:
