Release Day!

Hello!

Today the 4 new stamp sets that we have been showcasing from Funky Fossil are available to purchase.  They offer a mix of cute and quirky and classic along with Christmas and all year round.  Hopefully you will find something in here that you like :)

To celebrate the release, myself and each of the DT have a stamp set to giveaway from the new release of the winner's choice.  All you have to do is comment on this post and on each of the DT's blogs or insta accounts by midnight (UK time) on 26 October to be in with a chance of winning.  There is also 10% off everything in store for this weekend only - until midnight on 21 October when you use the code OCTOBER10 at checkout :)

I have a few cards to share with you using these new stamps:

The Sew Lovely set inspired me to stitch a frame.  The sewing machine is coloured with pencils.

It is easy to mask elements of the Plant a Garden set to create scenes.  The plants fit nicely in to the plant pot too!  The images have been watercoloured with distress inks.  I shall link this card up with the encouraging theme at Time Out as I think the sentiment is a really positive one and also at Inkspirational where the theme is Mask given the masking that I did with garden images.

I wanted to create an effect of the northern lights for the penguins on this card.  I created a watercolour background inked through the Shards stencil and went back over it with clear sparkle medium.

Check out the gorgeous designs by the DT....they have made some absolutely stunning cards to inspire you further.

October Release - Sew Lovely and Plant a Garden!

Hello,

We are back with the second part of the previews for our October release of 4 stamp sets that will be available to buy from Funky Fossil from 9am tomorrow morning.  Yesterday we were featuring the christmas sets but today we have stamp sets that will work all year round - Sew Lovely and Plant a Garden.

Both sets are lots of fun to use....here are a few examples of what I have made with them:

I simply watercoloured and cut out the sewing machine and combined it with a detailed doily die from Studio Light.

A bit of masking and watercolouring on this one combined with the Fancy Trellis stencil at the bottom of the card.

However, don't take my word for how fun these stamp sets are - check out what the DT have made with them:

I am so excited to hear what you think of these 4 new stamp sets.  Do come back tomorrow for our release day celebration - each of the DT have a stamp set of your choice from the new release to give away :)  The stamps will be on sale from 9am UK time.

Thanks for stopping by,

October Release - Festive Penguins and Joy!

Hello!

I am excited to say that I and the DT can finally share details of the 4 new stamp sets that will be available to buy from Funky Fossil at 9am (UK time) on Saturday, 19 October :)  Today we are focusing on the two christmas themed sets from the release which again feature the wonderful illustrations of Kimma Parish from Le Petite Market and of Maggie Molloy.

                                 Festive Penguins                                          Joy

I have made a few examples:

This sweet penguin has been combined with my Birch Forest stencil to create a wintry scene.

I have combined the sentiment with the bauble from Folksy Christmas which has been stamped in the background to create a patterned paper.  I love how these two stamps coordinate :)

However, the talented DT have much better designs to share with you which give a flavour of the different looks that you can get with these stamps....

We will be back tomorrow with previews of the other 2 stamp sets from the release ahead of the products going live on Saturday complete with giveaways!

Thanks for stopping by,

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

Hello!

Today I am excited to be joining Jo at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge as one of her Christmas Elves :)  I am sponsoring the challenge and will be giving away 3 stencils of the winners choice from my store Funky Fossil....

The theme for the challenge which runs until 21 October is Woodland Creatures so, of course, I had to use my Woodland Wishes stamp set to create this card:

I simply inked up my Birch Tree Forest stencil in soft greys, stamped and coloured the sweet fox and rabbit, cut them out and added them to the design.  The sentiment is a die cut from Card Making Magic.

I shall also link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge where the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of twinkle.

I hope you like it!  I look forward to seeing what Woodland Creatures you have in your stash for Christmas cards :)

Thank you to Jo for inviting me to be one of her Guest Christmas Elves - it is a real honour!

Here are the products that I used to make this card:

AAA Birthday

Hello!

We are back with our October edition of the AAA Birthday Challenge and this time we have some really vibrant colours to inspire you!

The challenge is to use at least two of the colours from this picture on your birthday makes.....

I decided to try and use all of the colours and went with a fireworks inspired card using different coloured embossing powders with my Circle Burst stencil:

I don't use coloured embossing powders enough so it was a lot of fun to go through the stencil with versamark and then add spots of colour, shaking each powder off before adding the next.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

I hope that you join in the fun this month and see what the rest of the talented DT have made using the colour inspiration!

Here is the stencil that I used.  You can buy it from my shop www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Thanks as always for stopping by!

Spooky

Hello!

There are a number of stencils in the shop which are perfect for Halloween makes including bats, mummies, graveyards, webs, spiders and pumpkin faces!  Here are a couple of cards that I have put together using just a few of these elements:

I used the Crooked Webs with texture paste on this card combined with mdf bats from the Spooky elements embellishment set.

This card features the mummy from Creepy Characters along with the Gothic Graveyard stencil.

I hope you like these fun creations :)  Here are the stencils that I have used:

I hope that you are enjoying a crafty weekend!

Butterfly Ribbon

Hello,

I have been playing with my new Butterfly Breast Cancer Ribbon stencil this week - as I mentioned previously, I shall be giving £1.50 to Breast Cancer UK for every stencil sold :)

I white heat embossed the image and inked over it with distress inks in shades of pink.  I love the way that the butterflies pop against the colour.  I shall link up for a second time at Time Out where the current challenge is for Breast Cancer Awareness and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are thinking pink.

I hope you like the stencil :)
