Playing with new stamps....

Hello!

It has been a busy week at work so it is great to finally get the chance to make some cards....

I made this card using the fab Ori Kami stamp set from Altenew.  I masked the bird and sponged through the Memory Box mesh stencil.  I watercoloured the bird to provide some soft colour and I coloured a torn piece of vellum for the background.  As I watercoloured the image I will enter this card in to Keep It Simple's current watercolour challenge and will play along with Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes.

I also made a card with another (new to me) stamp from Neat and Tangled:

I love this big sentiment - it works great as a focal point on a card!  I used a Tim Holtz stencil in the background with Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass ink.  I thought this splattered effect background would work well with Addicted to CAS's current challenge with the cue word - grunge.

Thanks for your visit :)  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Fabulous cards, Sarah! I love your stenciled background and how you water colored the bird on your first one, and your splattered background on the 2nd card is perfect with your sentiment! You have such a great eye for color...I always love your choices and techniques!

  6. Oh wow!!! I am loving these cards and find myself especially drawn to the second one and never would have guessed it was created with that stencil from Tim. I actually own it and now MUST get it out and play. I also LOVE the colors you choose....so pretty! Awesome design!!

Special thanks for the kind words on my blog. I was so excited when asked to be on the DT and since I was just starting back into pursuing a new position, it worked out perfectly. I had also applied for ABNH, but didn't' get that --- so happy that YOU did! I am very happy with this and have a fun "surprise" Guest Spot" coming up soon, so stay tuned!!

Thanks again Sarah -- Have a super weekend!!

To be true: at first I don't liked the Origami Stamps. But you've done a great Job. I'm afraid in the end I must also have one of this stamp sets ;-)
