Starry Eyed

Hello!

I am loving the new release from Uniko and have had a play with the Seeing Stars set to make 2 cards:

I decided to use a fave black and gold colour combo and combined the stamps with some mdf stars that I have cut to match.  I will link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes and at Addicted to Stamps Anything Goes challenge too.  As this is my first outing with these fab stamps I shall link up at Darnell's fun NBUS Challenge :)

Here I have gone with a pretty aqua and pink colour combo (Uniko's colours!) and again combined the stamps with mdf elements.

I have added the mdf stars to my Folksy shop too in case you wanted to use them in your crafty projects :)

I hope you have a great weekend!

Have a Heart

Hello,

As you may have seen on my recent posts, I have been playing with quite a lot of mdf shapes recently as my hubby and I explore the possibilities with our laser cutting machine.  I do love hanging heart decorations and have bought blanks from other suppliers in the past so it is great to be able to make my own :)

I painted a 10cm heart blank and stamped it with the beautiful floral flourish from Uniko's Originally Organic set.  I coloured the image with acrylic paints and added a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #6.

These make great little gifts to pop in with a card and they take paints, inks and stamping really well.  I have put sets of 5 mdf hearts in my Folksy shop.

I hope you like them :)

See you again soon,

Uniko Sunday

Hello!

I love how easy the Uniko background block stamps are for batch making cards and thought that I would share a couple of the sets that I have made this weekend.

First up is the confetti style of the scattered polka dot background from this month's release combined with the simply said sentiment blocks:

I used my Tim Holtz stamp platform as it meant that I could produce the same design multiple times, just changing up the colours as I went.  I also stamped a light colour and then a shade darker at the top to create a slight ombre effect.  The black sentiments really pop.

I also created a set of thank you cards featuring the star background block in the same way.  A set of 5 cards was ready in no time!

I hope that you have some crafty fun this weekend too!

Autumnal Shades

Hello,

I have had some time to play with my Uniko stamps this afternoon and decided to play along with the latest challenge over at Uniko which is:

I love the rich oranges and yellows in this photo and came up with 2 CAS one layer designs:

I used one of the discontinued butterfly stamps in shades of orange and yellow and combined them with one of the new sentiment stamps.

Here I inked up the fab stripe background and used the leaves from Natures Treasures as a black silhouette.  The sentiment is from Simple Sentiments.  I shall link this up at the Happy Little Stampers September CAS challenge which is to use a silhouette and at AAA Cards which is another autumnal challenge.

I hope you like them :)

Supersize Snow

Hello,

I shared some cards the other day with small mdf snowflakes that we have lasercut at home.  Today, I have two cards that I have made with giant versions of those snowflakes.....

I simply painted and triple embossed the snowflakes to give them a nice glossy finish.  They are big enough to make a striking focal point and the 3D feel of the mdf embellishment makes them feel a bit special.  Also - they are quick to make :)

I will link up at CASology where the cue card is Big and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is pop up cards.

By the way, I am selling these large mdf snowflakes on my Folksy shop too!

Thanks for stopping by,

CAS Butterfly

Hello!

I hope you have had a good weekend and that is has included the chance to get crafty :)  I have been working on a number of crafty projects recently but wanted to take the time to play along with my lovely friends at Less is More this weekend.  The theme this week is Take Flight so I decided to use a new Sizzix butterfly die:

I inked up some card stock in a range of distress inks from Blueprint Sketch through to Cracked Pistachio and die cute the ornate butterfly.  I created a white frame and popped it up over a border inked with the same colours as the butterfly.  I decided not to add a sentiment to the card so that I can use it for any occasion.   I love the soft floaty feel that the butterfly gives!  I shall also link this card up to Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Clean and Simple.

I have also made a start on christmas card making.  I recently bought the lovely ribbon sentiment from Clarity which is big enough for a focal point and even more excitingly I was able to embellish the card with mdf snowflake embellishments that we had made ourselves!  Hubby and I recently got a laser cutting machine and are having lots of fun cutting and experimenting with what we can make.

I gold embossed the sentiment and gold embossed the snowflake embellishments several times to give them a metallic look.

I am also selling the mdf snowflakes in my folksy store if you are looking for some embellishments for your christmas crafting :)

Thanks for stopping by,

CAS Squares

Hello!

A quick post from me with some cards that I made inspired by this week's cue card over at CASology - Square.  I love geometric designs and had lots of fun playing along.

I think this is my fave of the 3 cards that I made.  The squares were die cut from a piece of cardstock blended with distress inks and offset on some black squares to give a 3D look.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps (no longer available).  I can imagine using this design in lots of different colours for men's cards.

I will also link up for a second time at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes.

Using the same Memory Box die, I cut the pattern out of a white card panel and popped it over a piece of card blended with distress inks.  Simple and CAS!

This final card features those same squares tumbling across the front with a die cut sentiment from Mama Elephant.

I hope you like my square cards :)
