Deep Sea Valentine

Hello!

I have had a piece of cardstock on my desk for the past few weeks which had been used to mop up aqua markers (yes, my desk is that untidy!) and finally decided to put it to good use :)  I die cut a heart from the watercoloured card and paired it with a sweet whale from Avery Elle that I coloured in using grey aqua markers.

I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes and at Addicted to Stamps which is asking us to Make Your Mark.  I will also link up at CASology for a second time where the cue card is Swoon.  Finally I will join in at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge where Anything Goes with the optional twist of Love :)

Thank you, as always, for stopping by.  I hope you are having a good week :)

Another Cute Card

Hello!

I decided to play along at Less is More for a second time so that I could ink up my new cute frog set from Create a Smile:

I stamped and masked this sweet frog so that I could stamp the puddles.  I coloured with Spectrum Noir coloured pencils and added a few white highlights with a white paint pen.  A few red hearts complete this froggy valentine!

I shall also link up at Daring Cardmakers where this week's challenge is masking and at CASology where the cue card is Swoon

I can see this stamp set getting inked up lots of times - it is lots of fun :)

Indian Flower Stencil

Hello!

I got my Indian Flower stencil out to play along with a few challenges today.

I white embossed the stencil on to a panel of grey cardstock and then white embossed it on to a tag.  I sprayed the tag with Distress Sprays in Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord.  I added a sentiment from Concord and 9th on a mini tag and added that to the large tag, tying some thread through them both.  A few pearl dots complete the design.

I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is Tag It and at the Wednesday Challenge where we are layering up.  This card has 5 layers if you count the card base!

You can buy this fab stencil in my Folksy shop :)

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you have a great week,

CAS and cute

Hello!

This week's challenge at Less is More had me reaching for some long neglected cute stamps to make some super quick cards!  It is a one layer challenge too :)

I made these valentine cards with Mama Elephant's Pandamonium set:

This one is super CAS!

Here I added some hearts from Uniko to the design to give some pops of red.  I shall link this card up as a second entry at Addicted to Stamps where Anything Goes.

On this card I combined the cute panda with the bold hugs sentiment from Uniko.

I hope you like these panda cards....they were lots of fun to make.

One layer cards with stencils

Hello!

I am popping in to share a few simple cards that I have made with my stencils....just inking through them helps make a card quick and easy.

In my first card I have gone over my heart stencil with a number of inks to create an ombre effect.

I simply inked the heart off the edge of the card and added a bold sentiment from Uniko.  I shall link up at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Ombre and at Addicted to Stamps where Anything Goes.

Next up I inked through my honeycomb stamp, fading out as I went and added one of the cute bees from Reverse Confetti.  I love this fun sentiment :)

I shall link up at CASology where the cue card is Late and at Seize the Birthday where the topping is one layer.

You can buy both of these stencils from my Folksy shop:

Twofer :)

Hello!

I couldn't let the first Twofer Challenge go by without playing along and I realised at the weekend that I was fast running out of time!  I love the idea for this challenge and the fab inspiration that Darnell and the lovely DT have come up with.

This is what I made to reflect the theme of feathers:

I used a set of spellbinders feather dies to create these cards and a sentiment die from sizzix on them both too.  I think they look very different :)

I coloured some card with distress oxides and sprinkled with water before cutting the feathers out.  I arranged them on a card panel on which I had stencilled Uniko's Broken Lines in grey.  The arrow sentiment is stacked up on a few layers of black card.

On my second card I decided to create a dream catcher using my Indian Flower stencil and the dies.  Firstly I dabbed through the stencil with some sparkle paints from Imagination Crafts and then coloured some cardstock with the paints before cutting the feathers.  I doodled on the flower with black pen to add some detail and placed the sentiment along the edge of the card.  I used a clear sparkle pen on the sentiment to maintain the shimmery look of the card.

I hope you like these two cards.....

New Honeycomb Stencil

Hello!

I wanted to stop by to share some cards that I have created with a new stencil that is now available in my Folksy shop.  The soft honeycomb is pretty and versatile....I have been struggling to put it down :)

Here is what I have made:

I inked through the stencil with distress oxides to create a fade towards the centre and added a sweet bee and sentiment from Reverse Confetti.  I shall link this card up at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Ombre and Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are being asked to add a sentiment....I am partial to a pun :)

Here, I inked through the stencil with a combination of reds and die cut a large heart with a smaller heart and sentiment popped over it.  A very simple valentine's card.

Finally I added Imagination Crafts sparkle paste over the stencil in golds and bronze to create a variegated effect.  I cut a portion of it out and popped up over a piece of kraft card on which I had embossed a bee stamp (from Inkadinkadoo, I think).  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp....I simple die cut and added a second 'e' to create the pun :)  I shall link this card up at Time Out as I think the sentiment really works well with the current inspired by words challenge:

I think the stencil works perfectly for grungy, mixed media or CAS cards so I hope you give it a go and check out my range of stencils in my Folksy shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

I will link up at CASology where the cue card is Glimmer this week and at AAA cards where the challenge is to use a quote to inspire your card.  Finally I shall join in at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme this week is to add a sentiment.

I hope you like it :)

Elegant Peacock

Hello!

I wanted to make a card with the beautiful peacock die by Sizzix:

I spritzed some tissue paper with ink sprays and once it was dry, scrunched it up before adhering it to some cardstock.  I cut a square panel from the card and dabbed through a stencil on to it with some sparkle paints from Imagination craft.  I then die cut the peacock from a range of coloured cards including gold mirri and put it together.  The sentiment is from MFT.  The panel was matted on some more gold mirri to add to the overall design.

I hope you like it!  It has a lot of shimmer and texture in real life :)

I will link this card up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is Birds of a Feather and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we have been asked to add a sentiment.  Finally, I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers January, Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

Thank you for stopping by!

Mixed media heart

Hello!

I have had lots of fun making a canvas with my new heart stencil:

Having primed the canvas with white gesso, I then stamped IndigoBlu's crackle stamp background over the canvas.  I then used clear embossing paste over the stencil and, once it had dried, I painted over the canvas in dark blues and greys, wiping it off the stencilled heart.  I then stamped and white embossed some Stamploration stamps around the edges to add to the distressed look.

I mounted the canvas on white and navy cardstock and put it into a white box frame.

It shows that the stencil can be used for home décor pieces as well as cards and papercraft projects.  You can find it in my Folksy shop.

I will link this canvas up at That's Crafty where the current challenge is to use predominantly blue on your project and at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge where the theme is to 'ring in the new'.  I am using my new stencil on this project.  As I have used some Stamploration stamps I shall also link up at their monthly mixed media challenge which is anything goes other than a card.

I hope you like it!

Craft Stamper - Take It Make It Challenge!

Hello!

I am delighted to be sharing my first project for the Take It Make It Challenge at Craft Stamper :) As always, the theme is Anything Goes, as long as you use stamping somewhere on your project.  And, to make matters even more exciting, the sponsors for the challenge this month are the fabulous Visible Image with two of their stamp sets up for grabs!

   Take It, Make It Challenge

Given that Visible Image are our sponsors, I have made a card featuring images from their Dare To Swim stamp set:

I white embossed the jellyfish stamps and created a deep sea back background using Spectrum Noir sparkle pens, combined with a sprinkling of water.  The shoals of fish are stamped with a combination of gold and bronze embossing powder to give them some tonal variation.  The sentiment is from My Favourite Things Essential Sentiments.

I really love these VI stamps....have you seen the fabulous new release that they have been previewing this week??

I hope that you can join in with the fun over at the Take It, Make It Challenge - there is still plenty of time to play along!  The DT have some amazing inspiration to share with you over on the Craft Stamper blog.

Thanks for stopping by,

Geometric Stencil

Hello!

I hope your week has started well :)  I wanted to pop by to share a new stencil design which gives a fab geometric effect.....I used it to create a card for the current challenge over at Less is More where we are using purple:

I inked through the stencil on to white card using a range of Distress Inks and then cut a section of the stencilled panel out to adhere to the bottom of the purple card.  I extended the effect by stencilling tone on tone onto the purple card as well.  I added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and a few hearts to finish.

I shall also link up at AAA Cards as it is a new stencil that I am sharing with you for the first time :)

It was my hubby's birthday at the weekend and I made this card for him from the boys.  It was so simple to do by pressing through the stencil with versamark and white embossing the pattern on the grey card.  The alphabet stamps are from Altenew and the rest of the sentiment and headphones die are from MFT.  This is a stencil that works perfectly for men's cards!

You can find all of my stencils on Folksy....

I have already shared on FB that I am so excited to be one of the winners of Papercraft Magazines Designer of the Year competition.  I won't go on about it again....you can find the designs that I submitted in the current edition of Papercraft Essentials magazine :)  I am looking forward to being part of the DT over the coming year!

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and for your great comments!

Time Out

Hello!

My lovely friends at Time Out have achieved 100 challenges - yay!!  That is a real testament to Sandie, Nonni and the inspiring DT.  I look forward to the next 100 challenges :)

The theme for this challenge is to be thankful.  I am thankful for my crafting hobby and all of the wonderful friends that I have made through it.....I am also thankful for the aqua markers that I got for christmas and which I have used on this card!

I debossed an embossing folder that I got free with a magazine and used the indentations for the watercolouring.  I used fresh spring colours which make a nice change after all of the christmas crafting!  The sentiment is from Altenew.

I will also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Something New as I used my new pens and for a second time at Happy Little Stampers January Watercolour Challenge where Anything Goes.

Congrats again Time Out :)

Have a Heart

Hello!

Today I wanted to share a new stencil that I have produced from a fab SVG design by Savana's Design on Etsy.  It is perfect for valentines day, mothers day, anniversaries, weddings and all sorts of romantic occasions!

The image is approx 13cm so it is perfect for quick cards as a focal point simply by inking through as you can see above.  Here I have added some perfect pearls to give a sheen and combined it with a sentiment from Uniko.

Using different colours creates a different look again and here I have used a die cut from Stamplorations.

The size of the heart makes it perfect for mixed media projects as well and I have a few of those to share over the weekend.  I really hope you like it :)  You can find it on my Folksy shop.

See you soon,

Sarah x

More Hugs and Kisses

Hello!

I absolutely love the December release by Uniko....the hearts background stamp and bold hugs sentiment have quickly become go to sets for me :)  I have made this quick card for the January CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers where the theme is Friendship:

I stamped the hearts in a range of Altenew pink inks to create an ombre look.  A very simple design!

I will also link up for a final time at Simon Wednesday's Challenge which is Anything Goes.

I have lots more to share over the next few days.....I just haven't taken the photos yet :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Sarah x
