New Stamps Released Today!

Hello!

We have finally reached release day and our five new stamp sets are available to purchase in store at www.funkyfossil.co.uk :)  We have been sharing details of each set over recent days and here they all are:

 

 

I hope that you like them!  I have been loving making cards and mixed media projects with these designs and here are a few more examples:

I have lots more designs to share and will post them over the next few days - I haven't been able to put these stamp sets down!  We are on Hochanda at 3pm and 7pm today so you can see some demos with these new sets on the shows :)

Funky Fossil May Release - Bee Geometric

Hello!

I am back for the final day of our previews for the five new stamp sets that will be available to buy tomorrow :)  Today's set is called Bee Geometric and is just so cool!  I love bees and the geometric elements in this set give them a modern edge.

Here are a few examples:

I simply stamped the bee over a watercoloured panel and used the hexagon stamp in the background.  Simple but effective!

I stamped the two bees out repeatedly and watercoloured them to create the background and added a sentiment from the set.

I created the background with some watercolouring and our honeycomb stencil before stamping some of the geometric elements and the large bee.

Grungy Bees

Hello!

I spent a bit of time over the weekend playing with stencils, greyboard, mdf, inks and sprays to create this canvas:

I had lasercut some honeycomb from greyboard and adhered random pieces of it to the opposite corners of the canvas before painting it with some rust effect paint from Cosmic Shimmer.  I adhered some Tim Holtz tissue paper to the canvas with Indigoblu's Slap It On.  I then sprayed through my honeycomb stencil with Fossilised Amber distress spray and allowed some drips to run down like honey.  I used my bee stencil with black and gold acrylic paints and used my messy dots stencil with black and gold paint to add further detail.  I also used some stamps from Uniko, AALL and Create and Indigoblu.  I painted some mdf bees with crackle paste and then added black acrylic paint and pebeo gilding wax.  I added glossy accents to them too.  Finally I used a fab sentiment die from Stamplorations, stacked it up, added some gilding wax and glossy accents.  

I often struggle to know when a canvas is finished...particularly as it is a departure from my CAS designs!

Congrats

Hello,

I am just stopping by with two different looks for cards made with a fab sentiment die from Stamplorations and a couple of my stencils.  One is grungy and monochrome whilst the other is bright and bold.

Starting with bright and bold:

I simply sprayed through my honeycomb stencil with a range of colours which created a bright and inky background.  The large congrats sentiment is die cut from black card and adhered to a square of vellum to ensure that it stands out from the busy background.

I shall link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are celebrating birthdays and at Stamplorations April Challenge where we are focusing on the sentiment.

Here I used my geometric grid stencil with grey and silver misters to create a variegated look in the background.  I used some aged silver embossing powder to give the die cut sentiment a distressed and metallic look.  I also used some Stamplorations stamps around the edge of the card to enhance the grungy look.

I was able to create a second card by turning the stencil over and blotting the inky surface on to a clean piece of white card.  This gives a paler and more patchy effect.  I simply die cut and popped up the central panel and used the same die cut sentiment from Stamplorations.

I hope you like the effect that I have created by using misters through stencils.  They do not give a precise look but can create some fun and quick backgrounds.  As always, you can find the stencils that I have used in my Folksy shop!

One layer cards with stencils

Hello!

I am popping in to share a few simple cards that I have made with my stencils....just inking through them helps make a card quick and easy. 

In my first card I have gone over my heart stencil with a number of inks to create an ombre effect.

 

I simply inked the heart off the edge of the card and added a bold sentiment from Uniko.  I shall link up at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Ombre and at Addicted to Stamps where Anything Goes.

 

Next up I inked through my honeycomb stamp, fading out as I went and added one of the cute bees from Reverse Confetti.  I love this fun sentiment :)

 

I shall link up at CASology where the cue card is Late and at Seize the Birthday where the topping is one layer.

New Honeycomb Stencil

Hello!

I wanted to stop by to share some cards that I have created with a new stencil that is now available in my Folksy shop.  The soft honeycomb is pretty and versatile....I have been struggling to put it down :)

Here is what I have made:

I inked through the stencil with distress oxides to create a fade towards the centre and added a sweet bee and sentiment from Reverse Confetti.  I shall link this card up at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Ombre and Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are being asked to add a sentiment....I am partial to a pun :)

Here, I inked through the stencil with a combination of reds and die cut a large heart with a smaller heart and sentiment popped over it.  A very simple valentine's card.

Finally I added Imagination Crafts sparkle paste over the stencil in golds and bronze to create a variegated effect.  I cut a portion of it out and popped up over a piece of kraft card on which I had embossed a bee stamp (from Inkadinkadoo, I think).  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp....I simple die cut and added a second 'e' to create the pun :)  I shall link this card up at Time Out as I think the sentiment really works well with the current inspired by words challenge:
