New Stencil

Hello,

I hope you are having a good weekend!  I have been crafting with a new stencil today - Tribal Background is very detailed and great to work with.  Here I have just inked it up with Distress Oxides:

I combined the stencil with a fab sentiment die from My Favourite Things.

I shall link up this card at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the challenge is not to use any stamps and at Seize the Birthday where Anything Goes.

I hope you like my new stencil.  You can buy it from my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk.

Thanks for stopping by,

CAS and Grungy

Hello!

I hope that your week has been going well :)  I am stopping by for a very quick post to share a card that I have made for the current challenge over at AAA Cards where we are using a corner of our design with the optional twist of music.

I used fab stamps from AALL and Create for the musical theme with my Broken Radius stencil as I thought it looked like sound coming from the microphone.  I used Weathered Wood and Fossilised Amber distress oxides to go with a subdued colour scheme.  The hearts and sentiment are from a lovely stamp set by Tracey Hey.

I hope the elements that I stamped in the top right corner don't break the rules too much?  Jane will tell me if it isn't allowed :)

I like the combination of white space and grungy elements and hope you do too!

Less is More

Hello!

I am back to play along with the new challenge at Less is More where the fab DT are celebrating their 8th birthday month :)  Our challenge for this fortnight is to make the sentiment the focus in a one layer design.

Here is what I came up with:

I heat embossed the gorgeous vintage typewriter from Visible image.  I love the way that the sentiments fit on the paper :)  I masked the stamp and inked through my sunray stencil to create a pop of colour and add more focus on the sentiment.

I will also link up at Time Out where the challenge theme is Retro and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are using black, white + a colour.

I hope you like my one layer card and enjoy the inspiration from the rest of the talented DT at LIM.  Thank you for giving me the chance to GD this month!

Uniko Release Day!

Hello!

The February release from Uniko will finally be available from 9pm tonight and in time honoured Uniko fashion we have a blog hop to celebrate the release.

I have a few cards to share with you before you hop on....

I used the abstract triangle on this stencil with warm yellows and reds.  I inked through it twice and cut some of the triangles out to create a layered effect.  I also used Uniko's halftone background stamp on those triangles and combined it with the Explosion set to give the card a comic book feel.

I stamped the graffiti texture stamp several times on a piece of white cardstock to create the focal panel and combined it with the broken lines stencil and an old sentiment from Uniko.

Finally I did lots of background stamping with the elements that come with the Big and Bold Happy stamp set on this card and topped it off with one of the birthday wishes sentiments.

Check out the fab designs from the rest of the DT - if you are hopping with us you can find the hops listed on the Uniko blog - and there is a treasure hunt along the way.  You will find some icons lurking on the posts of some of the DT....

Thank you for stopping by,

Introducing Pinstripe Background and Yes, You

Hello!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend :)  Today is our last introducing post before Uniko release their fab birthday release tomorrow.  We have another versatile background stamp with the pinstripes and a lovely freebie stamp set - Yes, You - which will be available for free with orders of £25 or more placed between the release day and 17 Feb.  It is definitely worth getting your hands on!

I was surprised at how much I used and liked working with the pinstripe stamp.  It is easy to line up to create big backgrounds and is super versatile.

Here I used the stamp to create a grungy style background by stamping in different directions and taking care not to get a perfect impression.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Wishes stamp set which is also part of the release.

I also used it to create the background on yesterday's card - I love the grid effect it creates:

I have also used it on this card to create a stamped edge along the bottom of the card.  I combined it with the Yes, You set:

I hope you like today's stamps!  You will be able to get your hands on all of the release from tomorrow.  Stop by for our release day blog hop as there will be prizes to be won :)

Introducing Passiflora

Hello!

Not long to go now before the Uniko release goes live for sale on Monday :)  Today we are introducing a lovely floral stamp and die set - Bev does flowers so well!

Here is my card:

I created a background using the striped background stamp that we are going to be looking at tomorrow and stamped and die cut the flowers.  The set contains multiple dies so that you can layer up the elements of the flower for extra dimension.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Wishes set which is also part of this release.  They all work together so well :)

The rest of the DT have wonderful inspiration with the Passiflora stamp set - check it out at the Uniko blog.  I will be back tomorrow with some final creations to share before we have the release day blog hop on Monday!

Introducing Graffiti Texture

Hello!

I am delighted to share one of my favourite stamps from Uniko's February release which will be available to buy from next Tuesday.  The graffiti texture stamp is fab for male cards and its abstract nature makes it perfect for mixed media too :)

I only have one card to share with you today though as time has run out on me this week :(

I used the stamp on the card base in shades of teal and blue and stamped through my skateboard stencil to add some of the texture to the skateboarder too.  I love the way it looks as if he is skating along the sentiment!

We have more elements from next week's release to share with you tomorrow so I hope you will be able to stop by again.  In the meantime, check out the graffiti designs from the fab DT over at the Uniko blog :)

Introducing Abstract Triangles stencil

Hello!

We are back again with another introducing post - today we are sharing Uniko's new abstract triangles stencil and birthday wishes sentiment stamp set :)

You know that I love stencils so I was excited to play with the abstract triangles:

I sprinkled colour bursts over the stencil and spritzed with water.  I added the lovely happy die from the release to complete the design.

I used a soft colour palette on this card with Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Pumice Stone distress oxides.  The sentiment is due cut from the base panel and stacked up for added dimension.

This stencil is great to work with either as a background or focal point on your cards.  It will be available to buy with the rest of the release from 11 Feb.  In the meantime you can enjoy lots more inspiration from the rest of the DT over at the Uniko blog.

Introducing new stamps for Uniko!

Hello!

You may be aware that the fab Uniko are celebrating their 7th birthday this month and as part of the month long festivities, Bev is treating us to a new release of stamps, stencils....and dies!!

Today we are introducing the Big and Bold Happy Stamp set and dies :)  The Big and Bold series are amongst some of my favourite Uniko stamps as they are so versatile and have lots of impact.  The fact that Bev has introduced a die to go with them is even better!!

I simply put orange and pink texture paste through Uniko's confetti stencil (the design of which goes with elements on the new Happy Stamp set) and added the die cut word which has been layered up several times for dimension.   The word is big enough to be the main focal point of the card.

I have lots more cards to share during the rest of the week with this stamp and die set combined with more of the February release.  I hope you will be able to stop by tomorrow to see what else Bev has in store for you.  The release will go live at 9pm on Tuesday, 11 Feb but hopefully we will have lots of inspiration for you between now and then.  Check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the DT on the Uniko blog!

Less is More

Hello!

I am excited to be joining the Less is More team for February as they celebrate their birthday!  It continues to be a great challenge to play along with and the DT are super talented :)

I used my Birds in Flight stencil with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide and a sentiment from Stamplorations.  A bit of washi tape at the bottom of the card and some yellow twine complete the design.

I love this colour combo and enjoyed coming up with a design that has lots of white space :)  Do check out the fab inspiration that the rest of the DT have to share with you over at the LIM blog.

Uniko Birthday Blog Hop!

Hello!

We are celebrating Uniko's 7th birthday this month :)  First up is a blog hop and linky party....there are prizes for commenting along the way and for joining in with the linky party!

Here are the birthday cards that I have made to celebrate this fab birthday month:

I have used the balloon bash and star stencils on this card along with the birthday sentiments.  A simple card but great for any celebration :)  I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes.

Next I used the fab block party birthday stamp to create a quick card over a watercoloured background.  This is a great stamp for creating a card in one go!

The rest of the DT have fab birthday cards to share with you and you can find the links to hop along with over at the Uniko blog.

Here's to another 7 years of Uniko magic :)

Thanks for stopping by,
