New DT and Discount :)

Hello!

Amidst all of the excitement of introducing you to our fabulous new DT yesterday, I forgot to post a card that I have made for the current challenge over at Less is More where the theme is Typography.  This seemed like the perfect excuse to make a card with my Fa La La stamp set which has bold Christmas sentiments:

I simply white heat embossed the sentiment on to dark blue card and die cut a circle.  I softly inked my Poinsettia stencil in the background in shades of blue distress oxide.

While I was here, I wanted to share some more amazing creations from the new DT.  Each of them has a 15% discount code on their blog or insta account which you can use at checkout before midnight on Monday :)

CAS Stencil Challenge reminder

Hello!

Have you had the chance to play along with this month's challenge at CAS Stencil?  Using baby wipes is a great technique with stencils to bring the design out by lifting colour.

Here is my card:

I used the aperture from my Christmas Star stencil and inked through with Seedless Preserve distress ink.  I then laid the detailed element over the top and dabbed through it with a damp baby wipe.  The colour lifted to create contrast.  I completed the card by gold embossing one of the christmas sentiments from my Fa La La set and adding a few more dots of gold with a posca pen.

You still have until September 24 to join the challenge so there is plenty of time to play along!

Here are the products that I used on this card:

It has been great to be a GD this month at CAS Stencil this month - big thanks to Loll and the team for letting me take part!

Monochrome Geometrics

Hello!

I absolutely adore the inspiration photo for the current challenge at Time Out - there are so many fab elements to pick out!  I decided to focus on the large cross and used one of my older stencils - Geometric Crosses:

I masked off a panel on the card and inked through with black ink before going over the stencil with transparent texture paste to provide a glossy, raised finish.  I thought that a pop of yellow with the sentiment would enhance the contemporary look.

Here is the inspiration photo:

You can get the stencil that I used from my shop - www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

AAA Card - new challenge

Hello!

I am delighted to say that Funky Fossil is sponsoring the new challenge over at AAA Cards so if you like making CAS designs it is definitely time to play along!  The prize for the challenge winner will be £15 store credit to my shop - check out the stamps and stencils that I have on offer :)

The challenge is Up to One Third with the optional twist of an inlaid die cut

I used my Nordic Star stencil to create this card:

I simply masked off either side of the central panel and inked through the stencil.  Cut the merry sentiment from Winnie and Walter out of the stencilled section, matted the card on to a piece of kraft and in filled the die cut aperture with the word in kraft card.  A few sequins and some twines complete the look.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is to add some bling which I hope is what my sequins add to my scandi christmas card!  I will also link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge for the Anything Goes part - I don't have any elves!! - and at Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

I hope you like this simple card and come along to play at AAA Cards.  You have until 28 Sept to share your CAS designs.

Thanks for stopping by,

AAA Card Challenge

Hello!

I was inspired by the CAS sketch at AAA Cards to make a card featuring the cute pug from my Pugs and Hugs stamp set.  I don't usually do very well with sketches but this one is super easy to work with and there is an optional twist of animals....

I simply masked off a strip of the card base and lightly inked with Tumbled Glass distress oxide before overlaying the coffee bean background stencil over the top.  The little pug has been watercoloured.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are using stamps on our cards in celebration of Stamptember.

It is a quick one from me today - thanks for stopping by!

CAS Stencil Challenge

Hello!

I am delighted to be taking part in this month's CAS Stencil Challenge as GD :)  Our host is Julia and the technique that she is introducing is to use baby wipes to lift colour from your stencil designs.

Here is a card that I made with my Banners and Bunting Stencil:

I simply inked the background in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade distress inks, place the banner stencil over the top and pounced through with a baby wipe to lift some of the colour.  I kept going down the card panel and then layered a couple of inked banners over the top to add depth to this CAS design.  The sentiment is from Uniko.

I hope that you like this design and check out the other inspiration by the fab DT!

AAA Birthday

Hello!

It is time for our 5th challenge at AAA Birthday - can you believe it?!  I am excited about this month's theme as it is to use a stencil on your birthday cards.  As someone who makes and sells stencils that couldn't be a better topic for me :)

I have made a couple of cards:

On this simple card I have inked up my 3D Cubes stencil in Blueprint Sketch and Evergreen Bough and simply added a fab outline sentiment from Uniko.  The effect of the stencil makes this an eye catching card but it is super quick!

Here I simply masked the middle panel of the card and inked up the Random Rectangles stencil in oranges and pinks.  I added some of the Micro Dots to make the design a bit grungier.  I used the same sentiment from Uniko - I love the fact that you can customise your sentiment by colouring in or leaving the words as outlines.

I hope that I have given you a few ideas of ways that you can use stencils to create really effective and quick birthday cards.  The rest of the DT have more great inspiration to share with you over at AAA Birthday.
