Stylish

Hello!

I hope that you have been having a good week :)  I am stopping by with a quick post to share a card that I have made with a new stencil which I have called Ava.  I think that Ava is super stylish:

I used a spare piece of card that I had used to mop up distress inks from my craft mat and simply inked through the stencil with Ground Espresso distress ink.  A small sentiment and the card was done!

I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is 'S' - which for me were style and stencil!  I shall also link up at the Anything Goes Challenge at Simon's Wednesday Challenge.

In other news, thank you all for your lovely comments on the 5 new stamp sets that I released last weekend.  It was great to hear which designs most appealed to you!  I am pleased to announce that Sandie from London Days won the giveaway x

See you again soon,

Shine

Hello!

I have another card to share with you using the Abstract Beauty stamp set.  I think that it is so stylish and is really easy to use with its open space and simple lines.  Here I have combined it with a roughly brayered background, my hibiscus stencil, rainbow words, micro dots and bubbles stencils:

I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is 'S' which is for Shine and for Stencil and at Time Out where we are being fashionable!

Here are the products that I used which are available in store at www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Bank Holiday Christmas!

Hello!

It is a very hot bank holiday monday here in the UK so it feels strange to be making christmas cards but I have been playing with the new Folksy Christmas and Fa La La stamp sets which were released on Saturday.  Remember that you have until midnight tonight to purchase anything in store with a 10% discount when using the code FUNKY10 at checkout.  I am also running a giveaway on the blog here so leave a comment before midnight tonight to be in with a chance of winning your fave stamp set!

I had another play at wreath building on the card using elements from both Fa La La and Folksy Christmas to create the inner wreath and white embossing the holly detail from the Merry Christmas sentiment on the outside frame.

Here I paired my Nordic Star stencil with the Noel sentiment from Fa La La - I wanted to show that the sentiment doesn't just have to be stamped as a block if you don't want to.  Simply mask off the lower letters when stamping the first time and then mask off the top letters to get the sentiment to stamp in a line.  Navy and Kraft gives a lovely scandi feel.

The sentiment is the focal point on this card and I stamped it in pink, aqua and mint.  Elements from Folksy Christmas and Fa La La have been stamped in pale grey in the background.

I hope this gives you a feel for how versatile the stamp sets are:

You can check out all 5 sets from the new release in my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk.  Remember to use the code FUNKY10 for a 10% discount!

Hello!

We finally have the 5 new stamp sets available to purchase in my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk AND there is 10% off everything in store this weekend when you use the code FUNKY10 at checkout :)

Here are one or two more cards that I made with images from the new release:

I masked a circle and stamped the trees through the aperture to create a background for these two woodland cuties.  I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is CAS.

Here I simply coloured and stacked the Wild Things on top of each other and combined them with the Banners and Bunting stencil and Random Rectangles stencil.

I stamped a loose wreath around the sentiment from Fa La La.  I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge where anything goes without the optional twist of jingle bells.

Remember that there is also a giveaway running this weekend which you can take part in by commenting on this blogpost and telling me what your favourite set from the release is.  The giveaway closes at midnight on Monday, 26 August.

Abstract Beauty - new stamp set

Hello,

As my final stamp set of the week I have something a bit different for you today in the shape of an A5 stamp set called Abstract Beauty.  I really like the simplicity of these single line illustrations which work perfectly for both graphic, CAS designs and mixed media styles.  Here are a few examples:

Here the image is simply stamped and paired up with a stencilled background along with some stencilled words.

I combined the face with some of the butterflies from the set on a watercolour background for this card and combined it with a sentiment from Beautiful Inside and Out.

I hope that you like these designs!  All 5 of my new stamp sets will be available to purchase from 9am on Saturday, 24 August.

I will be back tomorrow with a review of the week's releases and a giveaway so join me then :)

Fa La La and Folksy Christmas - new stamp sets

Hello!

I am releasing 5 new stamp sets this Saturday, 24 August at 9am (UK time) and am sharing new designs with you every day.  Check out my earlier posts to see Wild Things and Woodland Winter!  Today I am sharing two new sets with you, both featuring the fab designs of Maggie Molloy - I love her quirky and folksy style.  I also wanted some bold Christmas sentiments for my cards and I think that Fa La La delivers that!

Here are some examples:

I teamed up the sentiment with my new Poinsettia stencil.  The sentiment really pops embossed on black card and with a die cut frame from MFT.

This is a simple card where I went for scandi colours of blue and red.  The sentiment is white embossed on to inked cardstock and the snowflakes make a quick background.

I used a wreath builder template to stamp the holly branch from the Merry Christmas sentiment and simply stamped the bold Noel in the centre.  A quick and easy Christmas card to mass produce!  I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is CAS.

Finally, whilst I was in a wreath building mood, I stamped another wreath using elements from the Fa La La set and added in the sweet heart from Folksy Christmas:

These sets are so versatile and work for contemporary, scandi or traditional christmas designs!  I hope you like them:

I have one more stamp set to share with you tomorrow along with a fun giveaway!

Woodland Wishes - new stamp set

Hello!

After yesterday's safari theme of the Wild Things set, I have gone much more wintry with the set that I am introducing today.  Woodland Wishes once again features the whimsical illustrations by Le Petit Market but these woodland creatures are wrapped up for winter.....

Here are a few examples:

I stamped and masked the trees from the set along with the bottom of the panel in order to create an inky sky with distress inks. I splattered that with water for a starry effect and lightly coloured the trees in.  The lovely deer is coloured with pencils and cut out.

I have shared this card already and it features the sweet fox in a CAS layout simply coloured with pencils.

Here is the set which will be available to buy from www.funkyfossil.co.uk from Saturday 24 Aug at 9am (UK time).  I hope that you like it!

Stop by tomorrow for the introduction of two new stamp sets!

Wild Things - new stamp set

Hello!

I am going to be sharing some cards with my new stamps every day this week leading up to their release on Saturday, 24 August at 9am (UK time).  There are 5 new sets in this release and I am very excited about them.  I think they cover all styles from cute to folksy to mixed media - because I love them all!

First up are the Wild Things which feature illustrations by Kimma Parish from Le Petit Market.  I love her quirky, doodly style!  This set goes on safari with a lion, elephant and giraffe being the main elements with a mix and match sentiment.

Here is the whole crew.  They are easy to mask as the outlines are relatively simple to cut.  Don't you just love the mane on that lion?!  I shall link this up at The Male Room Challenge where the team is celebrating 6 amazing years AND I am the sponsor :)

Here is the lion again - I have combined him with my new wavy dots stencil in the background.

I hope you like this new A6 stamp set.  I couldn't stop playing with it so have lots more ideas to share with you over the course of the next week!

See you tomorrow with another new stamp set :)

Butterfly in Blue

Hello!

A very quick post from me today featuring one of the beautiful butterflies illustrated by Maggie Molloy and available in my Butterfly Wishes stamp set.  I have simply stamped and coloured the butterfly with pencils and added a sentiment from Clarity Stamp.

Sometimes simple is best!

I shall link up for a second time at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Midsummer Blues and also at Seize the Birthday where the theme is Butterflies.

I have a new release of stamps going live next Saturday so check by tomorrow as I shall have sneak peeks from the new sets all through the course of next week :)

Here is the stamp set that I used today:

Midsummer Blues

Hello!

Blues and greens are my favourite colours so when the Simon Says Challenges asked for cards featuring blue, I got my stencils out straight away :)

Here is a card using my new Mini Cube stencil along with my Micro Dots stencil and some great grungy elements from Studio Light which I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge:

On this card I used my umbrellas stencil and masked off a heart shape for the sentiment.  I shall link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge.

They were both very quick and easy to make.  I love the fact that just inking through a stencil can produce a card front in minutes!

Here are the stencils that I have used today:

We are back from our holidays on Wednesday so will be shipping orders from the end of next week :)

LIM #402

Hello!

We are back with another fortnightly challenge at Less is More!  As the sponsor for August I get to play along as Guest Designer again and it is a challenge right up my street - use a stencil BUT also a one layer card :)

You can use stencils and keep your design CAS.  Here are a few examples:

I inked through my Beauty in Profile stencil in Aged Mahogany, Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar distress oxides and then added touches from my Micro Dots stencil in the same colours to create a layered look.  The sentiment is from my Beautiful Inside and Out stamp set.

On my next card I used my new Leo stencil with Salty Ocean, Crushed Olive and Mustard Seed distress inks.  The sentiment is from my soon to be released Wild Things stamp set.

These were both super simple and quick to make!

I hope you get out your stencils to play along with us.  Check out more inspiration from the amazing DT.

Thanks for stopping by,

CAS Christmas

Hello!

I am sharing another sneak peak with you today of a new stamp set that I will be releasing later this month.  This one features lovely folksy style christmas images from the talented Maggie Molloy.  I fell in love with this angel:

I simply stamped and embossed her in Wow Rose Gold embossing powder.  I also embossed some card stock to make the two strips down the sides of the card and the gorgeous MFT geometric die that I used to frame her.  The smaller die is actually in silver mirri and the sentiment is embossed in silver too but that doesn't come across in the picture!  For a final touch I added some Stickles in crystal to her wings.

I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is to use a die cut and at CAS Christmas Card Challenge where we are using glitter.  I shall also link up at Happy Little Stampers
Christmas Challenge where anything goes without the optional twist of jingle bells.

I hope that you like my metallic angel :)

A CAS Card

Hello,

I just wanted to share a quick CAS card that I have made with my Banners and Bunting stencil.  I keep using this stencil as it is very easy to create simple cards for lots of occasions....

I inked up the banners with distress inks, overlapping them as I went.  The sentiment came free with a magazine.

I shall link up at AAA Cards where we are making quick CAS cards with the optional twist of summer and at Happy Little Stampers August CAS challenge where we are using a third of the card.

Have a great day!
