Round in Circles

Hello!

I hope that you have been enjoying a sunny Saturday.....although I would quite like it to cool down a bit now :)  I did a bit of afternoon crafting to get away from the heat and played with one of my new stencils - the Geo Spheres stencil has an aperture and 3 matching patterned overlays to create cool card designs.

I simply inked up 3 spheres and cut them out with a circle die before layering them around a larger circular panel with a sentiment from MFT.  I used Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides.

I shall link up at Inkspirational where Nonni is challenging us to use 3 or 5 of something.  I used the 3 spheres and the sentiment has 3 happys!  I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes and at Happy Little Stampers where Anything Goes with Dies.

This is the stencil that I used:

You can buy it in my store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk

Rainbows and Whales

Hello!

I wanted to create a bright and cheerful card and decided to use my cheeky whale stamps :)  Hopefully this card will bring a smile to someone's face when they are feeling under the weather.....

I simply inked a rainbow through my Droplets stencil which was masked off with a circle aperture.  The whale is coloured with pencils.  I added a punny sentiment from the set too.  I shall link up at Time Out where the challenge is to be funny....I do love a good pun!  I shall also link up at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where we are being funny too :)

The stamps and stencil that I used to make this card are available in my online store, www.funkyfossil.co.uk

Bokeh Birthday

Hello!

I am here with a super quick card that I put together with my Bokeh Builder stencil.  I love the bokeh effect on cards and think that it creates a really soft and dreamy look that does not detract from the focal image.  When I saw that the theme for the new challenge over at Less is More is spots AND one layer, I decided that this was the way to go....

I simply inked through the various sized circles in light distress inks and stamped the Altenew birthday sentiment over the top.

I shall also link up at Seize the Birthday for the Anything Goes as my design is too CAS to cover the card :)

This is a very simple stencil but it makes quick bokeh effect designs really easy.  The circles are spread far enough apart that you can ink through without worrying about needing to mask off the other apertures.

It is available to buy at www.funkyfossil.co.uk.

At the Beach

Hello!

Having spent a few days in Spain this week I was obviously inspired to create some beach themed cards and play with my new sea shell stencils!

I simply inked the shells overlapping each other in soft corals and warm yellows and added a bit of blue in the corner as a hint of sea.  The sentiment is from my Beautiful Inside and Out stamp set.  I shall link this up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Travel/Vacation.

On this card I inked up the shell images in a more geometric style and added slightly stronger colours such as Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso to add depth to the shells.

This card is made using my other seashell stencil to create a soft background in corals and yellows behind a circle aperture with a pop of black from the sentiment.

Here are the stencils that I used to make these cards:

CAS Butterfly

Hello!

I am currently enjoying a few days' in Spain to celebrate my eldest surviving his GCSE exams :)  However, I was intrigued by the colour combination over at Less Is More and put together this card using my Butterfly Wishes stamps and a very small collection of promarkers that I have with me.....

I simply stamped the large butterfly in the corner of the card panel, coloured it and added the sentiment.  I matted it on to another piece of white card which I had shaded in one corner with Seedless Preserve Distress Ink.

This is not a colour combo that I would typically think to use together but is one that I will definitely use again!

This is the stamp set that I used:

AAA Birthday

Hello!

I am so excited to be sharing the news that I will be joining the fab DT over at the new challenge, AAA Birthday!  I love making birthday cards (although rarely remember to send them) so am looking forward to the prompts and inspiration that taking part in this monthly challenge will give me.  The new DT members are being announced this week so do check out the fab blogs of my fellow DT :)

The challenge from 3-30 June is to use watercolours so let's jump right in:

I used my In the Flow stencil over a masked off panel on the cardfront with sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts and added the cute narwhal from my Whale of a Time stamp set.  He is watercoloured with distress inks and highlighted with stickles for some extra sparkle!

I shall also link up at Time Out where the theme is Nature.

I hope that you like my first card for AAA Birthday.  There is still plenty of time for you to join in with your own watercoloured creations :)

The products that I used on this card are available in my online shop - www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Stencil Sunday

Hello!

I have been playing with my stencils over the past few days in order to join in with a few of my fave challenges.  First up is a summery card for Time Out's new challenge where the theme is Nature:

I used my new Summer Tree stencil on this card - shading with distress oxides.  The sentiment is from My Favourite Things.

My second card is for the CAS Stencil Challenge where we are using perfect pearls with our stencils.  I used my Starburst stencil with versamark and then lightly brushed gold and bronze pearls over it to bring the stars out.  The sentiment is another one from My Favourite Things.  It is ages since I got my Perfect Pearls out for a play so thanks for the inspiration!

I shall also link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are making masculine cards this week.

I hope you like these designs.  These are the stencils that I used:

They are available to purchase now in my store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Masculine and Feminine

Hello!

I am just popping in for a quick visit to share two very different cards today.  First up is a feminine card made using my new Beautiful Inside and Out stamp set which I have stamped and white embossed on kraft.

I coloured the image with polychromos pencils to create a soft look and combined the flowers with a wedding sentiment by Altenew.  I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is Wedding/Anniversary.

On this card, I went for a more masculine feel with my cross hatch stencil used through a circle aperture.  I inked the circle with Old Paper Distress Oxides and layered the patterned stencil over the top with Black Soot.  The sentiment die is from Stamplorations.

I shall link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Masculine.

Here are the items that I used in both designs.  They are available to buy from my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Unicorn Birthday

Hello!

I didn't want to neglect my sweet chubby unicorns after playing with the pugs and whales all week!  I decided to use them to make a card for the birthday challenge over at AAA Cards where they are celebrating 5 years of the challenge - a great milestone :)

I combined the unicorn with a new die collection from Paula Pascual called Bright Rosa which is available to buy at Craft Stash.  The dies are bold and contemporary.....I shall be back for more!

I shall also link up at Seize the Birthday for a third time for anything goes and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge.

I hope you like this bright and simple design.  The Chubby Unicorns are available to buy in my store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk.

A Couple of Challenges

Hello!

I have been using my new stamps this weekend to play along with a few of my favourite challenges.  First up is my card for Time Out where there is a gorgeous photo inspiration.

I have used my Zen Flower Background stencil with some topaz texture paste alongside the large butterfly stamp from Butterfly Wishes.  I have watercoloured it and combined it with a sentiment from Beautiful Inside and Out.  I shall also link up at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

I stamped the lovely blooms from Beautiful Inside and Out in versamark and created a variegated embossed look with Tonic Nuvo and Wow embossing powders.  I shall link up at Less is More where we are featuring embossing on our designs - hopefully the embossed element of the design comes to less than a third of the card!

Here are the items that I used:

They are all available to purchase from www.funkyfossil.co.uk - check out the range of stamps and stencils that I have to offer :)

New Stamps Now Available!

Hello!

I am popping in a bit later than planned to let you know that my new stamps are now available at www.funkyfossil.co.uk :)  There are 4 sets in the release and they range from cute and quirky to elegant and detailed.  I have been lucky enough to work with some fab illustrators - Maggie Molloy and Kimma Parish - in bringing these designs to you in stamp form and I have had so much fun creating with them over the past week or so.

Here are a few more cards that I have made with them in addition to the inspiration that I have been sharing all week.

I love this happy whale!  He is watercoloured here and combined with my Make a Splash stencil.  I shall link this fella up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes!  I shall also link up for a second time at Seize the Birthday Challenge although without the optional twist.

I decided to take a snap of this cute pug and put the polaroid on to cork to create the look of a pinboard.  I shall add this card to Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is to Frame It.

These elegant blooms from Beautiful Inside and Out are very versatile - whether you want to colour them or use them as outline stamps.  I love the mix and match sentiments too!

I paired this beautiful butterfly with my Brick Wall stencil.  It is a gorgeous image to colour :)

Here are the new stamp sets:

Thank you for stopping by and for all of your encouragement and lovely comments this week x
