At the seaside

Hello!

I had a piece of card sitting on my table that I had used to mop up some blue watercolours and decided to use it to make these two sea themed cards.

Obviously I was going to use my surfer stencil on this watery background and I simply inked through it in Stormy Sky distress ink.  I added some pencil shading and white highlights to help the image pop a bit more against the background.  I love the movement that the background creates!  The sentiment is from the Boho Vibes stamp set that is available from Thats Crafty.

I shall link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes and at Time Out where our inspirational quote is:

The life is good and beach vibe were my inspirations.

I used the remainder of the watercolour card with this lighthouse stamp which came free with a magazine.  I simply coloured it with promarkers and cut it out.  The sentiment is from Stamplorations.

I hope you like these cards and the watery effects!

Sea Life

Hello!

As we have been in Spain for the past few weeks I have obviously picked up the sea side vibe and created two underwater inspired cards.  On this first card I have used my sea horse stencil - I love creating scenes inside the apertures.....

Here, I simply inked with Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio distress inks inside the seahorse and then stamped a range of sea life images in versafine.  The stamps come from a free stamp set but I can't remember which magazine produced them....To finish the panel I stamped the same images in distress inks round the edge of the card panel.  I shall link up for a second time at AAA Cards where the theme is to use a stencil to create a CAS design.

On a similar note I inked around my circle aperture stencil before stamping around the edges.  I also added some of my messy dots stencil to create some bubbles.  I coloured the seahorse and starfish in promarkers to add a pop of contrasting colour and added a lovely sentiment from Uniko's most recent release.

I hope you like my two cards from under the sea :)

My Folksy shop will be back open tomorrow so you can check out my stencils there.

Wild and Free

Hello!

I had a piece of card left over from a previous crafty session with the Messy Rainbows stencil background in texture paste.  That was the start of this card:

I used distress inks on the background - Forest Moss, Crushed Olive, Mermaid Lagoon and Stormy Sky.  I then used my Geometric Stag Stencil with the same ink colours and cut him out.  The sentiment is from a gorgeous new set Boho Vibes Set 1 available from That's Crafty.  I shall link up at The Male Room Challenge where the theme is Wild and Free.

While I had my distress inks and the stamp set out, I watercoloured the main dream catcher image:

I shall link up at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge where the optional twist for August is Flowers.

These are the stencils that I used today:

I am back from my holidays at the weekend so my Folksy store will be back open on Sunday, 26 August :)

Cuteness Alert!

Hello!

I hope you have been enjoying your weekend :)  Here in Spain we have had 4 days of rain which has been a good opportunity to keep crafting....you know that you have an addiction when you are secretly quite happy to see a cloudy sky!  I have been playing with a few new to me sets that I bought out before I came on holiday.  They were too cute to leave at home.

First up is this beautiful little unicorn from Clearly Besotted:

I simply inked round one of my circle aperture stencils and inked up the shooting star stencil in a range of distress inks so that the little unicorn looks as if she is running across a starry sky.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted too.  I shall link this up at Seize the Birthday where Anything Goes and at AAA Cards where the theme is to use a stencil.

On a more rustic note, I wanted to share this cute little fox from Mama Makes.  I simply watercoloured and masked him and stamped the free leaf images from the current edition of Creative Stamping magazine behind him.  I added a few additional splatters to enhance the watercolour look and inked around the edge.  I shall link up at Simon Says Monday Challenge where we are using sprinkles and splatters on our cards :)

I hope you like these cute characters!

Uniko Release Day!

Hello!

Happy Sunday morning to you :)  Today you can get your hands on the gorgeous new stamp sets that Uniko are releasing and, as always, we have our DT blog hop to share some more ideas of what you can make with these fab designs.

Here are a few cards that I have made.  I have made all of the cards while on holiday in Spain with minimal supplies.....some mini distress inks, versafine and a handful of old promarkers….so imagine what you can do with them when you have got all of your craft supplies to play with :)

This simple card is made with the beautiful flower set with a bit of simple masking and colouring with markers.  I love the font of that sentiment!

Here is another card using my stencil hexagon aperture and honeycomb stencil with the bold hello set and some of the stamps from the background builder hexagons along with the sweet bees from the last release.  You can never have too many hexagons in your life :)

And finally, another card made using the fab hexagon stamps along with the bee happy set.  I simply lined the hexagons up so that the block of colour created a strip and cut them out so that they could be positioned as a frame on the card.

I hope you like these designs and get your hands on these gorgeous stamps....they are lots of fun!

Check out the rest of the examples from the talented DT and there is a chance to win the release if you hop along with us :)

Uniko Introducing....Big and Bold Hello and

Hello!

Today is the final day of introduction posts before Uniko's August stamp release is available for purchase.  The two sets that we are showcasing today are a further addition to the fab Big and Bold series and a beautiful Framed Floral.

I have a few cards to share with you today:

The large sentiment makes a great focal point and here I have simply paired it with a row of hexagons from yesterday's Background Builders set to make a one layer card.

Here I have cut the sentiment out and adhered it over a background that I have made by using texture paste through my Messy Rainbows stencil and inking it with distress inks.

I have coloured in the Floral Frame with pencils and used a touch of clear sparkle pen over the flowers.  The sentiment is from Block Sentiments and the image is matted over a base which I have stencilled with my Forest Foliage design.

Finally I made an inky design by blending distress inks, splattering with water and stamping the frame over the top.  The Floral frame was then matted on to a card base which had been inked in the same colour.

I hope you like these cards and check out the rest of the inspiration that the DT have for you over at the Uniko blog.  We will be back tomorrow with a release day blog hop so I shall see you then :)

Uniko Introducing....Hexagons and Beautiful

Hello!

Today I am back with a few more cards to showcase the fab new release from Uniko which is due to go live on Sunday :)  There are 5 stamp sets in total and today we are looking at my two absolute favourites from the release.  The Background Builders Hexagons adds to Uniko's brilliant range of geometric designs and I do love playing with shapes and patterns and the Beautiful stamps are simple flowers which are perfect for colouring.

Here is what I have made with them so far:

I inked round the edge of my large hexagon aperture stencil in picked raspberry distress ink and stamped the bold sentiment (coming tomorrow!) along with elements from the background builders set.  The cluster of 3 hexagons is from the recently released Bee Happy set - they mix and match so well.

Here I used the same stencil for my aperture and stamped the hexagon border inside it to create a background before adding further hexagonal elements in black ink and a sentiment from Uniko's block sentiments.

Here I have inked through my heart aperture stencil in peacock feathers before stamping and masking the pretty blooms and adding a sentiment.  A very simple one layer design.

Here I just went mad masking and layering up the floral images and watercolouring them with my distress inks.  I really like this summery look and will link up at Happy Little Stampers August Watercolour Challenge where the theme is flowers.

I hope you like these designs with Uniko's latest release :)

I will be back tomorrow with some more pre-release goodies.  Meanwhile check out what the rest of the DT have been up to over at the Uniko blog :)

Uniko Introducing....So Much

Hello!

Uniko have a fab mini August release which is available for purchase from Sunday, 19 August.  There are 4 must have stamp sets in the release and I have had a lot of fun playing with them.  I am in Spain this month so only have limited crafting supplies with me but these stamps are super versatile so that has not been a problem :)

I just have the one card to share with you today to introduce the sweet mini set - So Much.  It is a great showcase of Uniko's CAS and contemporary style.

I simply inked a piece of cardstock with distress inks in picked raspberry, abandoned coral, spiced marmalade and fossilised amber before stamping the floral image in each corner.  I removed some of the colour with a waterbrush to highlight the images and stamped the sentiment in the centre.  Super simple but I do like it :)

This set is perfect for quick thank you notes as all of the work is done for you.

Check out the rest of the fab ideas that the DT have come up with for this set on the Uniko blog. I shall certainly be using it lots more.

Thanks for stopping by.  We have more designs to share with you between now and Sunday so be sure to pop back again tomorrow!

Happy Birthday

Hello!

I am enjoying the sunshine in Spain at the moment but have bought my stencils and inks out with me so that I don't get crafting withdrawal symptoms....and sometimes that sunshine is just too hot :)

I decided to use my retro squares stencil to make a card for The Male Room Challenge where they are celebrating 5 years!  Many congratulations and I hope there are lots more birthdays to come....

I simply inked through the stencil in shades of Blueprint Sketch, Lucky Clover and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides.  I love the 3D effect that this stencil gives!  The sentiment is from MFT.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Distress It.

You will be able to get this stencil in my Folksy store when it reopens on 25 August.

Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge

Hello!

Can you believe that we are in August already?!  It is time for another challenge at Craft Stamper - Anything Goes as long as your project features stamping.

I wanted to take the opportunity to use one of the gorgeous stamps that I have just received from the talented Lesia Zgharda stamps.  I love the delicate detail of the designs....I would like to buy up the whole store!

I stamped the lovely focal image in dark navy ink and then inked through my Forest Foliage stencil in black ink on dark blue card.  I clear embossed the image and die cut a circle from the centre.  The sentiment is from My Favourite Things.

I hope you like this card and join us for the August challenge at Craft Stamper :)

Courage

Hello!

I hope you have been having a great week :)  When I saw that the theme for this week's Simon Says Monday Challenge was Wild Things, I wanted to use one of my geometric animal stencils and ended up going with the fab elephant:

I used black soot distress oxide to ink through the stencil on to pale grey card and cut the elephant out.  I then took a piece of kraft card and randomly stamped parts of a text stamp over it and inked around the edges.  I then die cut a Tim Holtz mixed media number die along the edge and backed it with a mid grey card.  The sentiment is from Lesia Zgharda stamps.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we need to make our own backgrounds.

I hope you like this card!
