I hope your week has been going well.....another weekend is just around the corner :) Which means I am nearly out of time to play along with this week's Less is More Challenge. It is a sketch this week which I probably like less than one layer....sketches just don't 'speak' to me!
Anyways, I came up with this design after a few attempts....
Hopefully it is ok to lift the panel and sentiment further up the card and the sketch still comes through! I simply used a Penny Black die cut in black against an inky background and simple sentiment.
I then made a few further cards on a similar theme using PTI stamps (the thank you sentiment is from Altenew). They are very simple one layer cards but I tried to add a bit of interest by applying different coloured inks to the image.
I will link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes for a second time too.
I am hoping to get crafty this weekend so hopefully will be back with more to share soon :)
You say sketches don't "speak" to you and then you show us three beautiful cards! Especially love the first one - so lovely!ReplyDelete
Love the inking on your first one, Sarah! The yellow can not look any more gorgeous! So glad that you join the fun over Simon Says Stamp Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge!ReplyDelete
Beautiful one layer cards Sarah.ReplyDelete
That bird silhouetted against the yellow sky is beautiful, Sarah. Every time I see anyone use that Festive Berries stamp I ask myself "Why haven't you bought that?' I'm adding it to my wish list right now so I don''t forget.ReplyDelete
These are lovely Sarah! I love how you have added multiple colours to those leaves. Subtle, but so effective. Pretty silhouette too.ReplyDelete
I feel the same about sketches, my least favourite of the challenges, but you've done brilliantly here. Your bird on the branch silhouette looks stunning against the sunset yellow, so striking, and the multi-coloured leaves on your second card give a great effect. So glad you crept in before the deadline :)ReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing with us.

Sorry a bit late in the day with my comments on these 'late' entries!!!! Hee Hee! BUT I'm thrilled you entered Sarah and your cards are awesome. Love the bird on the branch and perfect inking. The other 2 work brilliantly too. Have a good week and thanks so much for playing along this week!ReplyDelete
Less is More
Sketches do the same to me Sarah! But it looks like you were the same as me and once you got started it all came together! Your inky branch looks so CAS and effective, I do love those gingko leaves though, really lovely creation.ReplyDelete
Thank you for joining us

Wow, Sarah ... what a trio! The first with the silhouette against the inked sunshine is so striking ... and the Harvest Berries ... beautiful ... I do love that set ... and you've showcased it wonderfully! Hugs, Anita :)ReplyDelete
My trip to Disneyland Paris with my grandchildren last week put me all behind with my commenting, I'm sorry this is so late!ReplyDelete
WOW, three super cards Sarah, quite tricky to choose a favourite!
