Beautiful Inside and Out

Hello!

Today I can share the final stamp set in my new release which will be available to buy from www.funkyfossil.co.uk from 6pm tomorrow night.  This set is an A5 set featuring elegant blooms and a range of mix and match sentiments.

The circular large stamp measures approx 12cm and makes a great focal point on your card.  I white heat embossed it and blended distress inks over it, creating a lighter centre.  I simply shaded round the image in grey pencil to lift it off the page a bit more.  The sentiment is from the set too.

I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

On this second card I coloured the image with pencils and added a further sentiment.  I shall link up at Addicted to Stamps where the current challenge theme is Flowers.

I hope you like this floral set as much as I do!

If you register as a subscriber to my store newsletter you will receive an exclusive discount on all items in store over the weekend including the new stamps!  I shall be back tomorrow with further ideas created with all 4 of the stamp sets.

Thank you for stopping by,

Butterfly Wishes

Hello!

I am sharing a new stamp set today - Butterfly Wishes which features lovely, delicate illustrations by Maggie Molloy.  The main butterfly image measures approx 9.5cm wide which makes a great focal point on cards and projects.

Here are a few examples:

This vibrant butterfly has been coloured with polychromos pencils.  The sentiment comes with the stamp set.  I will link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where we are using bright colours on our designs.

I watercoloured the second butterfly before die cutting it with an aperture die from Paper Roses.  I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where we are featuring frames.

I white embossed the butterfly before inking with distress inks.  A bit of pencil shading adds definition.

I hope you like this second set.  I will share details of the third set tomorrow.  They will be available to purchase from my store at 6pm on Friday this week.  If you head over and subscribe to the store newsletter, there will be a special offer on my stamps and stencils available to subscribers this weekend.

See you again tomorrow,

New Stamps!

Hello!

I have a couple of posts this week to introduce you to four new stamp sets which I will be releasing for sale on Friday at 6pm (GMT).  There are a mix of styles in this mini release from the super cute illustrations by Kimma from LePetitMarket to gorgeous doodle style designs by Maggie Molloy.  I hope that you will see something for your summer crafting :)

The first set that I want to feature is Whale of a Time.  These fab whales are full of character and fun!

Here are a couple of cards:

I have combined this whale with my In The Flow stencil and, of course, the stamp set had to have a few punny sentiments to make you smile!!  I shall link him up at Seize the Birthday without the topping and also sneak in for a final entry at The Male Room Challenge where anything goes :)  I will also join in for a second time at AAA Birthday Challenge.

This cute fella has been combined with my Messy Rainbows stencil and another punny sentiment.

One for the gents

Hello!

I have been making cards with my new Rat Pack stencil - I so love this simple image!  It is great for making all manner of men's cards from birthday to father's day.  Here are some examples:

I simply inked through the stencil repeatedly in different shades of blue to create this design.  I shall link it up at The Male Room Challenge where anything goes and at Simon's Monday Challenge where the focus is to use stencils.

This card goes for a much more vintage look with the stencil inked over some newspaper style paper.  Some inking and distressing down the sides adds to the look.

I have gone for more of a cartoon style effect here with the halftone stamps and sentiment.

I hope you like this stencil :)

You can find it in my shop - www.funkyfossil.co.uk

Fossil Pattern

Hello!

I have been playing with a fab new stencil to make some quick, one layer cards.  The Fossil Pattern creates bold designs which are particularly effective for cards for men.

I simply masked off a strip and inked up the stencil in shades of distress oxides before stamping the sentiment.  I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where we are using stencils.

I shall link this card up at The Male Room Challenge where Anything Goes (minus the optional twist of origami).

I hope you like these masculine cards.  The stencil is available to buy in my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk

Make a Wish

Hello!

I hope that you have had a great weekend :)  It has been a busy one so I haven't had as much time to craft as I would like but I wanted to play along at Time Out.  The word inspiration - Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground - had me reaching for my Shooting Stars stencil and my Chubby Unicorns stamps.

I inked through the star stencil with distress oxides and coloured the unicorn with pencils.  The sentiment is from WPlus9 and I added one of my MDF stars.

As it is a birthday card, I shall also link up at Seize the Birthday for Anything Goes.

And finally, I would like to link up at AAA Birthdays first challenge where Anything Goes.  I am sure that it is going to be a very popular challenge :)

You can buy the products that I used on my card in my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Adventure

Hello!

I wanted to play along with the current challenge at CAS Stencil Challenge where the technique is to layer our stencils over a coloured background.  This is what I have made:

I masked off a panel on the card front and inked it with Fossilised Amber before placing one of my new stencils - Batik - over the top and inking through it with Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso.  I die cut a giraffe from Sizzix from dark brown card and stamped some safari themed words.

I shall also link up at Inkspirational where the word prompt is Adventure and at Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

The stencil is available to buy in my store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Rainbows and Unicorns

Hello!

I am stopping by with a very quick post to share a sweet card that I made over the weekend with my Chubby Unicorn stamps :)  Hopefully it will bring a smile to your day!

I simply combined him with a lovely MFT rainbow die and sentiment.  A bit of colourful washi tape at the bottom completes the card!

I shall link up at Time Out's current challenge as I think that this little unicorn has a playful twinkle in his eye :)

Sparkly Stencils

Hello!

I have had lots of time in my craft room this weekend so have had the chance to play with some of the new stencils that I have been adding to the store.  I just love the versatility of stencils for backgrounds, focal points, and using with a whole range of media :)

Here is a card that I made with the new geometric circles stencil:

I masked off a panel on a piece of white cardstock and went over the stencil with Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium in Lapis Blue.  I shall link up at The Male Room Challenge where we are adding numbers to our cards and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Birthdays.

I went for an even more dramatic look on this card by stencilling through my Bold Damask stencil with Nuvo gold texture paste on black card.  The sentiment is gold embossed on vellum and is by MFT :)

I have a 3 for 2 offer in store at the moment which is due to end at midnight tonight, GMT.  Just quote the code HAPPY at checkout.

Uniko Release Day Blog Hop!

Hello,

At last the day has arrived when Uniko is releasing its most recent collection of stamps, dies and stencils.  It is a great release....I love the mid century modern vibe that Bev has used :)

Here is a range of samples that I made with the wonderful products from the range:

I inked a soft bokeh background with my bokeh builder stencil before stamping the fabulous Mid Century Modern Florals in black.  I combined with a Uniko birthday sentiment from a previous release.

I love this Background block - it is so retro and cool!  I simply masked a panel on the card front and stamped the background repeatedly (it is easy to join up) and then coloured in.  Again another Uniko sentiment completes the design.  I shall link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are celebrating birthdays.

Finally I stamped the other background repeatedly on a card panel before die cutting the large wish sentiment repeatedly and stacking it up over the top of a circle.

I hope that you have enjoyed all of the introducing posts this week and are looking forward to getting your hands on these wonderful products!  They are available to buy from Uniko at 9pm GMT today.  The rest of the DT are hopping along to celebrate the release today so there is a lot more to see :)

Uniko Introducing Big and Bold Wish Designer Dies

Hello!

It is the final day of our showcase of products from the new Uniko release which is due to go live tomorrow, Sunday 5 May!  Bev bought out the Big and Bold Happy die recently and has followed up with Wish for this release.  It is a great size and adds real impact to your design.  Of course, it matches the size of the stamp set perfectly :)

I made a very simple card featuring the sentiment and Uniko's Confetti Stencil:

Quick and easy but the large sentiment gives the card a strong focal point.

The rest of the DT have brilliant ideas for using this new die and we will all be back tomorrow with the release day blog hop.

See you then!

Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2019

Hello!

The time for the fabulous Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has arrived!

I am delighted to be taking part again as a sponsor and there are loads of amazing companies and cardmakers taking part as always.  I will be giving away a £15 voucher to my store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk - to one person who leaves a comment on this blog post who will be picked at random once the hop closes on 10 May :)

Unfortunately I have been ill all week and didn't get the chance to make some of the cards that I had planned for the hop so I am recycling a few of my previous makes.  Hopefully I will get the chance to play catch up over the weekend!

These cards were made using my coffee bean and tea cup stencils.....

ETA: I got a little chance after work today to use my new coffee cup silhouette stencil.  It is super simple but provides a great aperture for coffee themed cards.  Here is what I made:

The sentiment dies on both cards are from the fab Stamplorations :)

I won't detain you any longer as you have some serious hopping to do!  I hope that you have fun :)

Thanks for stopping by - remember to leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning £15 credit to my store!

Uniko Introducing.....stencil

Hello!

We are back with another introducing post in the lead up to the fab new Uniko release on Sunday, 5 May.  Today we are looking at the stencil which is coming out....it fits perfectly with the mid-century modern theme that Bev has developed for this release and is a larger version of one of the background blocks.

I think that the stencil and stamp work perfectly together.

I went over the stencil with gold embossing paste before sprinkling embossing powders over it.  I heated them to create a distressed, raised effect.  I combined the stencil with the background stamp and with the Big and Bold designer die that we will be looking at tomorrow.

On this second card, I stamped the background block several times before going over the top with the stencil and black glitter paste.  I thought that this classic Uniko sentiment worked well with the graphic look.

I hope that you will enjoy the inspiration that the DT have put together for you.  We are back tomorrow for the last introducing post before release day!

Thanks for stopping by,

Uniko Introducing Sketched Foliage and English Country Garden Designer Dies

Hello!

This is our second day of introducing products in the fab new release from Uniko which will be available to buy from this Sunday, 5 May!  It is a genuinely amazing release....there are so many new favourites in there!

Today I have two cards to share which showcase the fab sketched foliage which is a large background stamp and the dies that Bev is bringing out to go with the beautiful butterflies from the English Country Garden set:

I effectively stamped the foliage in Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide on a mop up watercolour background.  I stamped out the butterfly and used the new die to cut it out and finished with a Uniko sentiment.

I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge which is all about birthdays and at Seize the Birthday - anything goes.

The sketch style of the foliage makes it really forgiving and something that you can layer up or stamp repeatedly to create an even larger background.

On this second card I heat embossed the foliage as a resist for a blended distress ink background:

The rest of the fab DT have more inspiration to share with you over at the Uniko blog.  We will be back tomorrow with more elements of the release to share....I hope to see you then!
