Easter Stamp Sale!!

Hello!

I hope that you have a restful and healthy easter weekend planned....it seems to have crept up on me amidst all of the other events taking place in the world.  However, now that we are here, I wanted to celebrate with an easter weekend sale.  There is 20% off all of the stamps in store when you use the code STAMP20 at checkout before midnight on Monday, 13 April.  This applies to all of our stamps including the recent release and the sets featured on our Hochanda show last weekend :)

Here is a card that I have made with our Butterfly Wishes set.  I watercoloured it with Zig Watercolour markers and attached it to a card panel which has our new Butterfly Background stencil heat embossed on it.  We are donating £2 to the Alzheimers Society for each Butterfly Background sold during April.

I shall link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we have a spring moodboard to inspire us and at Inkspirational where spring is also the theme.

Here are the products that I have used on this card:

Finally, I can't go without announcing the winner of our latest stamp release....apologies for the delay!  The winner is Denise Bryant.  Congratulations, Denise :)  I shall get in touch to arrange to get your prize to you!

Thank you for stopping by,

Sarah x

Scribble Roses

Hello!

Just popping by with a few cards made using our new Scribble Rose stencil.  It is a really fun and easy stencil to use.

First up I used it with glitter paste on a watercoloured background as a base for the large butterfly from our Butterfly Wishes stamp set which I had coloured with polychromos:

I shall link this card up at Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme this week is stencil fun.

I also wanted to make a more CAS card and masked off a strip which I inked lightly with Tumbled Glass.  I inked the roses in light blue before moving the stencil and using embossing ink through it and heat embossing with a pink/red colour.  Obviously make sure that the distress ink has dried before doing this so that the embossing powder doesn't stick where it is not supposed to!

I shall link this card up at the current challenge over at CAS Stencils where the theme this month is heat embossing.

I hope you like this new stencil!

Thanks for stopping by,

Butterfly in Blue

Hello!

A very quick post from me today featuring one of the beautiful butterflies illustrated by Maggie Molloy and available in my Butterfly Wishes stamp set.  I have simply stamped and coloured the butterfly with pencils and added a sentiment from Clarity Stamp.

Sometimes simple is best!

I shall link up for a second time at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Midsummer Blues and also at Seize the Birthday where the theme is Butterflies.

I have a new release of stamps going live next Saturday so check by tomorrow as I shall have sneak peeks from the new sets all through the course of next week :)

Here is the stamp set that I used today:

CAS Butterfly

Hello!

I am currently enjoying a few days' in Spain to celebrate my eldest surviving his GCSE exams :)  However, I was intrigued by the colour combination over at Less Is More and put together this card using my Butterfly Wishes stamps and a very small collection of promarkers that I have with me.....

I simply stamped the large butterfly in the corner of the card panel, coloured it and added the sentiment.  I matted it on to another piece of white card which I had shaded in one corner with Seedless Preserve Distress Ink.

This is not a colour combo that I would typically think to use together but is one that I will definitely use again!

This is the stamp set that I used:

You can buy it in my online shop - www.funkyfossil.co.uk

A Couple of Challenges

Hello!

I have been using my new stamps this weekend to play along with a few of my favourite challenges.  First up is my card for Time Out where there is a gorgeous photo inspiration.

I have used my Zen Flower Background stencil with some topaz texture paste alongside the large butterfly stamp from Butterfly Wishes.  I have watercoloured it and combined it with a sentiment from Beautiful Inside and Out.  I shall also link up at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge and at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

I stamped the lovely blooms from Beautiful Inside and Out in versamark and created a variegated embossed look with Tonic Nuvo and Wow embossing powders.  I shall link up at Less is More where we are featuring embossing on our designs - hopefully the embossed element of the design comes to less than a third of the card!

Here are the items that I used:

They are all available to purchase from www.funkyfossil.co.uk - check out the range of stamps and stencils that I have to offer :)

New Stamps Now Available!

Hello!

I am popping in a bit later than planned to let you know that my new stamps are now available at www.funkyfossil.co.uk :)  There are 4 sets in the release and they range from cute and quirky to elegant and detailed.  I have been lucky enough to work with some fab illustrators - Maggie Molloy and Kimma Parish - in bringing these designs to you in stamp form and I have had so much fun creating with them over the past week or so.

Here are a few more cards that I have made with them in addition to the inspiration that I have been sharing all week.

I love this happy whale!  He is watercoloured here and combined with my Make a Splash stencil.  I shall link this fella up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes!  I shall also link up for a second time at Seize the Birthday Challenge although without the optional twist.

I decided to take a snap of this cute pug and put the polaroid on to cork to create the look of a pinboard.  I shall add this card to Simon's Monday Challenge where the theme is to Frame It.

These elegant blooms from Beautiful Inside and Out are very versatile - whether you want to colour them or use them as outline stamps.  I love the mix and match sentiments too!

I paired this beautiful butterfly with my Brick Wall stencil.  It is a gorgeous image to colour :)

Here are the new stamp sets:

Thank you for stopping by and for all of your encouragement and lovely comments this week x

Butterfly Wishes

Hello!

I am sharing a new stamp set today - Butterfly Wishes which features lovely, delicate illustrations by Maggie Molloy.  The main butterfly image measures approx 9.5cm wide which makes a great focal point on cards and projects.

Here are a few examples:

This vibrant butterfly has been coloured with polychromos pencils.  The sentiment comes with the stamp set.  I will link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where we are using bright colours on our designs.

I watercoloured the second butterfly before die cutting it with an aperture die from Paper Roses.  I shall link up at Simon's Monday Challenge where we are featuring frames.

I white embossed the butterfly before inking with distress inks.  A bit of pencil shading adds definition.

I hope you like this second set.  I will share details of the third set tomorrow.  They will be available to purchase from my store at 6pm on Friday this week.  If you head over and subscribe to the store newsletter, there will be a special offer on my stamps and stencils available to subscribers this weekend.

See you again tomorrow,

Sarah x
