2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Hello and Welcome!

It is time for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and Funky Fossil is delighted to be one of the sponsors again :)

We have a £20 credit to the store on offer AND to celebrate this fab hop there is 15% off everything in store this week, until 29 May, when you use the code FOSSIL15 at checkout :)

I have made a couple of  coffee cards using our stencils and stamps to share with you:

Here I have used our coffee cup aperture stencil and inked up the new Boho Background stencil to create a wrap.  I masked the cup and added leaves from our In the Tropics stencil too.  A bit of pencil shading adds definition :)

For my second card I have used our new Caffeine Buzz stencil with our Splatters stencil.  A bit of texture from corrugated card and a sentiment from In the Meadow.

I hope you like my cards and enjoy hopping along with us!

Funky Fossil May Release - Bee Geometric

Hello!

I am back for the final day of our previews for the five new stamp sets that will be available to buy tomorrow :)  Today's set is called Bee Geometric and is just so cool!  I love bees and the geometric elements in this set give them a modern edge.

Here are a few examples:

I simply stamped the bee over a watercoloured panel and used the hexagon stamp in the background.  Simple but effective!

I stamped the two bees out repeatedly and watercoloured them to create the background and added a sentiment from the set.

I created the background with some watercolouring and our honeycomb stencil before stamping some of the geometric elements and the large bee.

I hope you like this stamp set!

Sam, Jane and Natalie have also been creating with this stamp set so check out their makes too!  Tomorrow is release day....I am so excited.  I hope that you will stop by again :)

Funky Fossil May Release - In the Meadow

Hello!

We are back for our fourth day of introducing the five new stamp sets that will be available to purchase from Sunday.  We have a fabulous A5 meadow flowers set for you today - I love these silhouette images - they are great for using with lots of techniques from CAS to inky :)

Here are a few designs that I have put together:

An inky background combined with the meadow flowers stamps and Birds in Flight stencil.

Silhouettes don't have to be black!  I stamped the flowers in bright colours around the card.

Here I used the Meadow Flowers with our new In the Clouds stencil and Birds in Flight.

Here is the full set:

Check out what Natalie, Jane and Sam have been making with this set and come back tomorrow when we reveal the final set in the new release :)

Funky Fossil May Release - Furry Friends

Hello!

I hope that your week is going well :)  We are back for a third day of introducing the five new stamp sets which will be released on Sunday, 10 May in store and on Hochanda.  Today it is the turn of Furry Friends which is another stamp set featuring adorable designs by the talented Donna Gray.  These cute canines are packed full of character!

Here are a few cards that I have put together:

A sweet and simple card featuring this fab pup with one of the punny sentiments from the set.

This sausage dog is just so fun!  I stamped him out repeatedly on the card base and added a coloured one as the focal point.

Here is another of the characters from the set.  I think that she looks fur-bulous :)  I created a stencilled background using the Grid and In the Clouds stencils and pawprints on the cardbase.

These dogs have so many possibilities and will make really distinctive and quirky designs!  Check out what Jane, Sam and Natalie have made with them :)

We will be back tomorrow with set number four!

Funky Fossil May Release - Scandi Garden

Hello!

We are back for the second day of introductions to the five new stamp sets that we will be releasing on Sunday, 10 May both in store and on our two Hochanda shows :)  Today we are introducing Scandi Garden which is a partner set to our Scandi Home set.  The stamps mix and match perfectly together and feature really distinctive artwork.

Here are a few examples:

I simply blended some distress oxide on the card panel and added some subtle stencil detail with the Dotty Circle Background before stamping and clear embossing the image and sentiment.  I love the stylised flowers sprouting out of the watering can!.  I simply added the grid stencil at the bottom of the card.

The set also includes stamps which are perfect for pattern building.  I have used them below to create a tiled effect.

This set has so much potential....I am looking forward to making a lot more cards with it!  Here it is:

Check out the wonderful designs that Jane, Natalie and Sam have made with it too.  I hope to see you back here tomorrow when we will have the third set to share and it is another one featuring designs by Donna Gray :)

Funky Fossil May Release - Bees Knees

Hello!

We have an exciting week ahead as we share new stamp sets which will be released on Sunday, 10 May in our store and on Hochanda during our two shows :)  Even more exciting is that two of the stamp sets that are included in this release have been designed by the super talented Donna Gray using images from her hand carved stamps.

Today we are showcasing Bees Knees which is an A5 stamp set featuring lots of fun images of bees, toadstools and flowers.  It is packed full of quirky character!

I have simply stamped and masked a number of the toadstools on to kraft card, coloured them in white and then shaded with polychromos pencils.  The sentiment is from another stamp set coming out in this release.

On my next card I have used just the smallest toadstool from the set along with one of the punny sentiments.  I couldn't resist putting it in with the set :)  It is framed with the Dotty Circle Frame stencil.

Finally I wanted to highlight the cool bees that come in the set.  As soon as I saw this bee I knew the card that I had to make with him!

I combined this smiley bee with our Happy Words stamp set and new Honeycomb Stitches stencil.  I shall link this card up at Time Out as the colour combo works well with the patterns in the inspiration photo.

I hope these cards have made you smile!  Check out the wonderful inspiration from Jane, Sam and Natalie.  They have been having fun with the set too :)

Here is the full set:

The stamps will be in store on Sunday and we will be back tomorrow with another new set.  See you then!

AAA Birthday Challenge #13

Hello!

We're back with a new challenge for the month of May and it is one that you are sure to have stash to play along with - we want you to make birthday cards which feature Things with Wings :)

I decided to use our new Dragonfly Duo stencil for this card:

I used metallic paints through the stencil on to acetate and cut it out and also heat embossed the dragonfly in gold on to dark blue card.  I adhered the acetate dragonfly on to the embossed one so that it was slightly offset so that the gold shows through.  I used versamark ink through our Indian Mandala stencil on to a square panel of white cardstock and brushed mica powder over it to give a subtle background shimmer.

Which things with wings will you use on your design?

I hope you like my card and get the opportunity to play along with us this month.   The talented DT have lots more inspiration to share with you at AAA Birthday.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes this week.

Thanks for stopping by,
