Hello!

I have been wanting to start a blog to share my stamping and cardmaking efforts for some time and have finally decided to give it a go....fingers crossed :)

Here is the first card that I want to share which I made to play along with this week's Less Is More Challenge to use stencils/masks.

There are so many fantastic stencils about at the moment and I am using them a lot for backgrounds - the recent Stenciled Online Card Class had some great techniques!  The stencil on this card is Honeycomb by Memory Box which I have inked through with Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks.  I have die cut this Memory Box Prim Poppy die approx. 4  times and stuck them together for some dimension.  Coloured with Promarkers and used Glossy Accents to give them a glaze.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts - Good Friends.

Thank you so much for your visit - if you have any tips or hints for a newbie blogger they would be much appreciated!

Bye for now, Sarah x

  2. Good for you...Haven't started to blog yet, but I really want to. Love making cards and spend much of my days blog hopping to see others great talents. My hubby recently past away so I use a lot of my retirement time keeping myself busy on the computer and making cards. Those are great time fillers. Your first post on your page is beautiful. Keep them coming!!!

The background is gorgeous and I love the way you've layered and coloured the pretty flower! I'd love to hear the story behind the "Funky Fossil" name:)

  6. What a pretty card. I love that poppy die, want one myself. I think you have made the hardest move by starting. I found that I stared at the blogger logo for months before I took the plunge and have never regretted it. Happy crafting. I have clicked the follow button. :0)
