Less is More #324

Hello!

Well, spring is in the air and this week our challenge at Less is More is focusing on the theme of a 'spring walk'.  What a lovely subject with lots of potential for pretty creations!

I have a few ideas to share with you celebrating all things springlike.....

I used this lovely image from Mama Elephant and watercoloured over the white embossed lines with distress inks.  The die cut sentiment is Concord and 9th whilst the stamped hello is from Altenew.  I finished with some pale blue splatters to accentuate the watercolour look although they could also represent the inevitable spring showers!

Tulips are one of my favourite flowers so they had to feature in my spring walk.  I coloured this image from Stamplorations with pencils and combined it with a Paper Smooches sentiment.

Two simple cards but I hope they give you the sense of spring.  Do check out the rest of the DT inspiration over at Less is More and visit the lovely Wendy from Pink and Dotty's blog as she is our GD this week.

I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend :)

  1. These are so beautiful, Sarah. The soft watercolouring on the first card is really pretty and you made me smile with the comment about spring showers (especially this weekend where they're out in force!). I love those Concord and 9th sentiments and it works perfectly for your card. The second one is beautifully coloured and really makes me want to experiment more with pencils as a medium. Such gorgeous bright colours <3 Have a lovely weekend! x

  2. Two beautiful cards Sarah. I love the soft water colouring on that pretty flower stamp. It was definitely showering yesterday! Your tulips are a lovely bright contrast and really pop off the card. I've hankered after that stamp for a while!

  5. Stunning Spring blooms Sarah and love how you've coloured both of these. Your loose watercolour effect on the first one works brilliantly with this image and loving the bold pop of sentiments then you are just a master / mistress with those pencils - so many wonderful tones and shades. Happy Easter and hope you're having fun. x

  6. At the risk of overusing the word "lovely", Sarah, both cards are lovely.

  9. How fab! Two unique and equally beautiful looks using those two floral stamps Sarah. The first card is so dreamy with the gorgeous water colouring and the discreet splats of colour. But I must say my favourite is the second card - I love bold colours and those vibrant tulips are just fantastic. Really evocative of a spring walk. (sorry I'm late popping over - been a hectic week this week). xx

  10. Late again, so sorry! I love both of these, your colouring is so pretty on both and the pale blue accents really add a spring feel to them. Tulips are my fave too, just had to include them xx
