Drama and Ombre

Hello!

Are you having a good weekend?  It is horribly cold with snow showers here so I am taking that as a sign that I should stay warm inside :)  Of course, that means I have been playing with stencils!

First up is a one layer card that I have made for the new challenge at Less is More:

I masked a panel on the black card base and dabbed through my triangle grid stencil with gilding glue and then rubbed gilding flakes over the top.  The sentiment is embossed in silver.  I was inspired by this fabulous card by Sharon in creating my design.

On this card I have inked through my Forest Foliage stencil in shades of green to create an ombre effect.  I added one of the beautiful butterflies from Stamplorations to the design along with one of their sentiments.

I shall link this card up at AAA cards where the challenge is to feature ombre and at Simon's Wednesday spring themed challenge.

I hope you like these two designs and the stencils that I used to create them which you can find in my Folksy store.

See you again soon!

Sarah x

  5. Simply stunning cards - I knew you'd come up with something classy and eye-catching with your new stencils for this challenge. Both are brilliant but obviously the first one on the ONE layer is perfect for Less is More. I still can't keep up with your production line of stencils ... more stunners in your shop. Mr G must be very cold with all this snow and being bundled off to the garage!!! LOL. Catch up soon and thanks for playing at LIM x

  8. Yay!!! (Clapping my hand here!) What a totally awesome take on that card I made. I absolutely ADORE what you did Sarah! It's fantastic to see the design on one layer and the gilding flakes is a fab take on the stencil theme. Your second card is beautifully soft and delicate in comparison. Thank you so much for sharing tour card(s) with us at Less is More xx

  11. Super CASE of Sharon’s gorgeous card, Sarah. The triangle grid stencil is so cool and fabulous idea to use gilding flakes to give it some shine. It pops amazingly against the black card base. Glad to see you back joining us at Less is More OLC Stencils. x

  12. The black card is very beautiful. I love the strong, modern design. Could be for a man or a woman. The second card is very bright and cheerful. Makes me think of a tropical evening.
