Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Hello!

Happy International Women's Day to you :)  I am delighted to be a participant and sponsor of this year's Women's Day blog hop which has been organised by an amazing team of talented women.  This is the second year of the hop and it looks set to be a fun and creativity filled event with lots of sponsors and inspiration along the way.

Funky Fossil is one of the sponsors - you can win a £15 voucher to spend in store!

We have so many stamps and stencils that would work for the theme 'Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful' but in the end I decided to use our Abstract Beauty stamp set to make this card:

I simply created a background by blending distress oxides and lightly inking over our Fierce Words stencil.  Stamped the image in black and used our Butterfly Flurry stencil with black paint.  I added some word stickers by Leonie Pujol and a strip of black cardstock at the bottom and the card was done!

I hope that you like it and that you enjoy the hop.  Jane's Doodles is the next stop to visit and if you have got lost or want to start from the beginning, head here for the full list....

Fun with Foil

Hello!

I have recently added some Wow! Bonding Powder and Fab Foil to the shop and it would have been rude not to play with it :)  I am so impressed with the coverage that the foil gave when I inked through the stencil designs, embossed with the bonding powder and put it through a laminator.

I used our Butterfly Heart with blush foil and also foiled the sentiment from MFT.  I shall link up at the CAS Stencil Challenge where the focus is on foiling this month.

Continuing with the butterfly theme, I foiled up our Geometric Butterfly and combined it with our Butterfly Flurry:

I heat embossed the butterfly flurry with Wow Rose Gold embossing powder to complement the foiled butterfly.

Here are the products that I have used on these cards - all available at www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Coral and Blue

Hello!

I am stopping by with a quick post to share a card that I have made for the new challenge over at Less is More which is to make a CAS card using last year's pantone colour of the year (coral) and this year's (blue).  What a great idea!  Here is what I came up with:

I simply inked up a circle in Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide and overlaid our Butterfly Flurry stencil over the top and inked through with Blueprint Sketch and a touch of Chipped Sapphire.  I added a few white highlights with a posca pen and a sentiment from WPlus9.  I thought that rounding the corners would make my one layer card look a bit more special.

I shall also link up this card at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge where the optional twist this month is wings.

This is the stencil that I used on today's card:

Butterfly Flurry

Hello!

I was in the mood to make a clean and simple card yesterday which was quick to do but would add to my stash of birthday cards....am I the only person who never seems to have the 'right' card when I need it?!  I have used my new Butterfly Flurry stencil on this card and love how easy it is to ink up:

I used some washi tape that I got from Hobbycraft with a blue and purple blend and then inked through the stencil in the same colours.  The sentiment is from WPlus9.  Quick and easy :)

I shall link up at Inkspirational where the word prompt is Birthday and at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the theme is animals....hopefully butterflies count!

I hope you like this stencil which is available in my Folksy store:
