Honey I Shrunk the Kit #9

Yay!  It is time to share the cards that we have made with the latest Honey I Shrunk the Kit :)

Honey I Shrunk the Kit is a little kit club set up by the sweet Hazel from Hazel's Paper Designs and a few of my lovely bloggie friends - Shona Chambers from Twine Around, Sandie Munro from London Days and Sarah Platt from Sazzle Dazzle Crafts.  This month it was Sarah's turn to put the kit together and she came up with a really fun and playful kit called Monster Madness.

Here is what I made:

I created a 'spacey' sky by covering the card with black soot, smoked hickory, blueprint sketch and chipped sapphire distress inks and splattering with white ink and perfect pearls.  I coloured the fun images from Sarah's kit with promarkers and added one of the fun googly eyes....you can't have a space alien without a googly eye!  I popped this up over a strip of glitter tape and added glitter to the planet.

I went a bit lighter and brighter on this card using some of the lovely patterned paper that was in the kit as well as the bakers twine.  I coloured the cute monsters with pencils.

I love the frame die that Sarah included from Pretty Pink Posh!  To add colour I triple heat embossed the frame with blue embossing powder.  Each of the monsters pop out of the frames and work perfectly with the sentiment and patterned paper from the kit.

These little monsters from Lawn Fawn are just so cute!  I popped them up over a heart aperture which I had filled with a star stencil from Stamplorations.  The punny sentiment makes me smile.

This was such a fun kit to play with - I love the elements that Sarah put together and can't wait to see what my super creative friends have come up with.  Whenever I look at their creations I always wish that I could start again :)

Thank you for this kit, Sarah!

See you again soon,

Sarah x

  3. Super fabulous Sarah and so many extra ideas for next time I dig out the monsters! Your night sky is brilliant and sets the Googley monster off a treat! Great use of the designer paper as a border and balloon then tied down with the twine! Too clever! Just swooning over your colouring and the delightful loved up heart one is just adorable! Thanks for having fun with the kit! X

  4. Sorry my comments are so late, the computer died thankfully after my post went live and now able to catch up with everyone. You did such an amazing job with your kit, love them all. Especially love your space background, its perfect and your stars within the heart die-cut is such a cool idea. It was such a fab kit and so much fun. Off to see what Sandie and Hazel did now. Mwah!

  5. Gosh, these cards are so much fun, Sarah! Your triple-embossed blue frame looks amazing with those cute little monsters popping out! Your spacey sky in the first card was something I tried to achieve on my triple frame card, but couldnt get the colour as perfectly 'spacey' as yours! Your aperture heart one is SO cute, and your ballooned monsters remind me how desperately I need a balloon die! I must be the only card maker out there who hasnt invested in that essential! Enough from me! Superb job, as always! Given another sensational kit, i am a little nervous about how mine's going to turn out...
