Less is More #295

Hello!

Our challenge at Less is More this week is asking you to use thread on your design - this should be fun!  I have made two cards to share with you:

First up I have a card made using some a sweet embroidery hoop die from Neat and Tangled which I cut from some wood effect paper and stuck over a circle aperture.  I stamped the hearts and sentiment from Neat and Tangled on some aida and sewed over them before adding a scattering of cross stitches.  I really like the fact that the paper crafted hoop frames some real fabric and sewing.  As this is a type of frame I shall also link up for a second time at CASology where the cue word is Frame.

I also took the opportunity to make a festive card and used silver thread to hang my die cut bauble from Memory Box.  I used silver glitter paper under the bauble and added some die cut pine branches from Memory Box and a silver embossed sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

I hope you like my two ideas for using thread.  There are lots of other ideas that I didn't get around to using so I look forward to seeing what you come up with :)  The DT have also got some great inspiration for you over at Less is More.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh just swooning here Sarah, love that you've got the needle and thread out to sew 'proper' on that first one - so clever! Then your Christmas make is just dazzling. Super CAS and so elegant. Love, love, love it. Have a great week. x

  7. So great to see some needlepoint on your card! That is my favorite... Did you know my parents have had wool and neeldlepoint shops for over 30 years? And such a great way to tackle this challenge! Hugs, Gerrina

  10. Brilliant cards Sarah. This is the first time I've seen an embroidery hoop die, but what a perfect die to use to frame your beautiful stitching. Love that you cut it from wood effect paper. Your Christmas card is pure class and elegance. Love it. (Sorry I'm so late visiting this week - been manic here and I'm only just catching up!)
