Less is More #339

Hello!

How is your summer going?!  Well, I hope.....it seems to be whizzing by quickly.  We are looking forward to a few sunny weeks in Spain before it is back to school and the autumn routine.  However, in the meantime, we have another challenge to keep you entertained at Less is More

Before I get on to my cards, I wanted to let you know that today is my last post as a member of the DT.  I am sad to be stepping down but my work and home commitments are taking up a lot of time at the moment and I haven't been able to do as much crafting as I would like!  LIM is one of my favourite ever challenges and it has been a huge honour to spend the past 18 months on the DT with one of the most talented and lovely teams in blogland :)  Every week their cards are a great inspiration to me and they work so hard behind the scenes too.  I definitely plan to play along whenever I can.....

This week we are asking you to include some form of piercing on your design.....here is what I came up with:

I used a pierced hole border die to create the panel in the card and used some thread to give a stitched effect.  This was popped up over some patterned paper and combined with a die from Papertrey Ink and a stamp from Uniko.  It is very simple but I think it has a clean, masculine look.

My second card is much more feminine and soft with a die cut butterfly from Stamplorations popped over some stencilled foliage.  I pierced some flourishes to give some movement to the design and completed with a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Check out the pierced inspiration from the rest of the DT and remember that our sponsor this month is Happy Little Stampers.

Thank you as always for stopping by - I really appreciate your comments :)

  1. So gutted you're leaving, Sarah :( We'll miss you. I love your cards though - what a great set to go out on! Using a "stitched opening" theme on the first one is genius and looks awesome. And your second card is so pretty with the delicate pierced swirls coming off the butterfly. So gorgeous! Have a lovely weekend and make sure you keep in touch with us all xx

  2. I'm sad to see you go Sarah, it was great being in the same DT with you again! However I understand of course, it's not easy to keep up with crafting (no matter how much one would want!) when there's lots going on in life. I wish you all the best and hope to see you around in bogland and playing along when you find the time! Your projects this week are amazing (as always!): the design in the first card is mind-blowing! I love your use of thread here, very creative and original. Love the pop of red too! The soft feel of your second card is so pretty too -I love the stenciling and all the pierced details. Hugs!

That first design is so clever and perfect for masculine cards. I love the zigzag stitching with the chevron paper, so effective. And your second card is so dreamy. Even before entering the team, I was admiring your creativity and your fabulous CAS design (most of the time in my fav colour too !). And today is another example of your stunning talent with these two cards ! The first one is so creative, it makes me thing to a zip ! Absolutely amazing ! And the second card is so, so beautiful with this delicate lace butterfly and the addition of the pierced details that give mouvement to the card ! 10. Oh Sarah! We will really miss you at LIM because you are such a huge talent. Personally I feel really privileged to have worked along side you for the past 18 months. Don't be a stranger! Join us when you can. And you've certainly gone out on a bang. Wowee! That zip card is sensational! It's bold, bright and so much fun. Then you give us a beautifully soft and elegant butterfly card. They really show off the range of your talent. Take care sweetie and I hope things calm down for you soon. Big hugs xx
