Things have been a bit quiet here on the blog over the past week or so....I have been away for Easter break with the boys to visit their grandparents in Spain. We had a lovely time - it was great to get some fresh air and a break. The weather was quite cool but the boys enjoyed playing football and tennis on the quiet beaches. We usually go in the hot summer months when the resorts are very busy so it was a pleasant change to be able to wander around when it was so much quieter!
Anyways, I have really popped by to share a card that I have made for this week's CASology where the cue card is Sweet. I love a good donut and this prompt had me reaching for my Reverse Confetti stamps and dies:
I glazed my donut with glossy accents and dropped the die cut sprinkles in to the accents. The edges of the donut are inked with a bit of distress ink to give that baked look! I love the punny sentiments with this set....any sentiment with donut in it works for me :) Finally I sprinkled a few of the mini sprinkles around the donut because they are so cute.
I hope you like it :) Normal blog service will be resumed shortly....
Thanks for stopping by,
Sarah x
What a yummy looking just-baked donut, Sarah ... such gorgeous glazing ... and delicious sprinkles! Sounds as though you had a lovely break ... great photo's of your handsome boys! Anita :)

It looks like you just glazed it (do not know if that;s the correct word for putting ice on it) Think it is a beautiful card and a great match with the sentiment! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time with the boys, Sarah. Love the glossy accents and sprinkles on the donut.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Sarah! LOVE this! The gloss and the browned edges give this donut so much dimension! Super sweet!! So glad that you had a great time away and LOVE the pics of the boys! Thrilled you joined us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteLove the shine on the 'frosting! Lovely and CAS - great fresh colours! So glad you joined us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteThis is one serious looking donut and just love that glazed look. For some crazy reason donuts aren't popular in New Zealand. They do finally have Dunkin Donuts in Auckland (which is the top of the North Island) but thats it. I LOVE them and Dave is going to Auckland in June for the weekend. He knows not to have much carry on luggage as he will be bringing back many boxes of donut goodness!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous dimension on your doughnut from those inked edges and I love the shine of the icing! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteI love going to places during their off-seasons - there's a totally different and more relaxed vibe. :)
