Less is More #304

Hello!

I am thankful for another weekend....I am definitely feeling the pace as the weeks fly by :)  Of course, that means that we are also back with our latest challenge at Less is More.  This week we are asking you to use an Emboss Resist Technique on your cards.

I love this technique and decided to make a few festive cards:

First up I white embossed this lovely Christmas sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps and masked a panel that I coloured with a range of distress inks.  The white sentiment pops out against the rich purple shades.  I then stamped 2 ornaments from Clearly Besotted and drew a line back to the sentiment.  A simple one layer card.

Sticking with my collection of Christmas stamps by Waltzingmouse I white embossed the lovely dove of peace image and simply laid some rich blue ink over the top.  I die cut it as a small square panel for the centre of the card as I felt this looked clean and crisp.

These were both very quick and easy makes but I think that the emboss gives them something a bit extra. The rest of the DT have more inspiration to share with you using this technique so do check them out over at Less is More.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by,

Sarah x

  1. Lovely cards Sarah! You have a great eye for clean, balanced layouts and these two beauties prove it. The masked panel on the first card looks fantastic, really setting off the beautiful Christmas sentiment perfectly. The crisp, intense Dove of Peace panel is really stunning, and such an effective contrast to the clean space around it. Love them both! Have a fab weekend x

  2. You really work CAS like magic Sarah, so crisp and clean but ooozing style and elegance. That's a beautiful Christmas sentiment and loving the mixture of purple on that first card. The dove card is totally chic and another bit of stash envy going on here! Have a great weekend x

  3. Crisp, clean and stunning, Sarah. I love that blend on your first card, isn't it just gorgeous when you take the mask away? Love the idea of the baubles hanging from the sentiment too. And the dove in blue and white is just beautiful xx

  9. This technique is so great and you made such awesome cards with it ! The sentiment of your first card is so beautiful and I love how you hanged the ornaments on it ! But emboss resist is nothing without a gorgeous inking over it, as you did ! Thanks for sharing.

  10. Two beauties here Sarah. The second is beautifully clean and crisp, but my heart went to that first one. Such a wonderful way to add bauble images to the card, and it's one layer too - great for saving on postage! Sorry I'm so late visiting this week - it has been mega for me. But promise I'll be back in the morning to comment on your next LIM makes. Xx
