Watercolour Hare

Hello!

The theme at Time Out this week is 'Wild' and that reminded me to play with a hare silhouette stencil and mask which I have put in my Folksy shop but not used on a card as yet....

I used the stencil on watercolour card.  First I wetted the card within the silhouette and then added sparkle pens to create a watercolour effect - the colours spread and merged within the image.  Once it was dry, I drew round the hare to give a more definite outline.  I then stamped some Indigoblu silhouette leaves in front of the hare, before masking the hare and stamping further flowers so that they look as if they are behind him.  The sentiment is from Uniko.

I shall link up for a third time at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

I have also used the stencil on a small mixed media canvas:

I drew round the hare image and flipped the stencil so that they were facing each other.  Then I traced round the image with Pebeo Cerne Relief which provides a raised outline.  I used Pebeo's moon, prisme and vitrail paints in the hares which mix and merge to create magic combinations.  Once that was dry I painted the background with acrylic paints creating layers using stencils and grasses using the side of a credit card.

Thank you for stopping by,

Sarah x

  2. Two beautiful interpretations of our challenge, wow! I absolutely love the card you made -it looks with graphic and artsy at the same time! The black outline around the hare really makes it pop and was a wonderful design idea. I think I'll have to have a look in my stencils and see where I could use that too! :) Thanks for the inspiration and thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!
