Getting Messy

Hello,

When I get the chance to have a good crafting session, I often like to try out more 'messy' techniques and this weekend I was playing with colour bursts and pixie powders along with my stencils (of course!).

First up I created a soft watercolour background with creative expressions pixie powders as a background for my elegant lady stencil:

Once the background was dry, I used poppy stencils black gloss paste through the stencil and admired the effect!  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I used black glitter card to highlight the edges of the panel.  I shall link this card up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where we are using sparkle and shine.  The pixie powders have shimmery mica in them and the black glitter card adds a bit more subtle sparkle.  I shall also link up at Happy Little Stampers watercolour challenge (without the optional rainbow twist).

I also have another new stencil - Floral Beauty - which I layered over a slightly more vibrant background created using colour bursts and pixie powders.  I simply inked around the edges of the stencil aperture with black soot distress ink.  I then added doodling in black and white pens to help give the flowers definition and finished off with a black glitter butterfly.  I shall link this up at Simon's Monday Challenge where this week's theme is doodling.

I hope you like them :)

As always, you can find them in my Folksy shop!

Thanks for stopping by,

Sarah x
