I hope you have had a good weekend. I am feeling a bit weary (and very spent up) after a great day out at the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC! I can't wait to have a play with all of my new goodies....
I haven't had much time to create this weekend but thought I would post a few cards that I haven't got round to blogging yet:
I white embossed this lovely tree from Clarity Stamps and added a sentiment from Avery Elle. The background is coloured with distress inks and splattered with water for a more mottled look. I matted it off centre on a black card. I will join this up at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge which is Thinking of You.
Next up I have a second card for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group Challenge which, this week, is embossing:
I used pearlescent embossing paste on my SSS big dots stencil and clear embossed the two mosaic ornaments which had been stamped in Picked Raspberry and HA's Tide Pool. The sentiment is silver embossed from Penny Black. It was hard to get a decent photo of this card without glare from the pearly embossing but I hope you can see it from this angle!
I hope you like them :)
What a great treestamp on your first card! And the second card is super! Love the that you've made it all from scratch! A card that I would love to see in real; think it is a beautiful one! Hugs, GerrinaReplyDelete
2 great cards Sarah, I love the inking on the first one, such a beautiful effect. Love the shimmer on the 2nd one and how you've placed the sequins, perfect. Cathy xReplyDelete
Two gorgeous cards, Sarah! Your tree is so elegant, and I love how you inked the background! I also love the pearlescent embossing paste you chose for your dots and your ornaments are fabulous! Beautiful colors, too!ReplyDelete
I think I will name you the Embossing Princess! The second card is just a stunner, I love the background xReplyDelete
Love both cards! That gorgeous tree on the sponged background makes such a beautiful sympathy card! The second card is so fun with the non traditional colours and the shimmering dots!ReplyDelete
Wonderful cards, Sarah. I love the embossing and inking on the first one, and those pearly dots are fabulous on the other one.ReplyDelete

Such a lovely sponged background on your serene tree scene, Sarah ... and oh my, that pearlescent EP on all those yummy polka dots is fantastic ... the subtle shimmer is a brilliant foil for the wonderfully vibrant ornaments! Anita :)ReplyDelete
Gosh, what can't you do with embossing paste...this looks amazing!!! Love the Xmas card, especially the colours. You could link this to the Virginia's View Challenge where the theme is 'all things metallic' and even the Inkspirational challenge, their theme is 'shine'. And the sympathy card is beautiful, love that stamp and having the small black frame really makes it pop. Gorgeousness!!!ReplyDelete
