Time Out Challenge #17

Hello!

It is time for another fab Time Out Challenge.  You were obviously all as inspired as we were by Heather Telford's card last time and I loved seeing your beautiful designs!  This time we are inspired by words:

Birds of a Feather Flock Together

Lots you can do with this :)

I had to use a new Clarity Stamp that I got a few days ago - love this image:

I coloured the stamp with distress markers and spritzed generously with water.  I think it gives a really dreamy, autumnal look.

While playing with the stamp I also made this:

I inked up the sky in fired brick, spiced marmalade and mustard seed distress inks and stamped the tree on top. I sprayed a bit of Mister Huey's shine to add to the dreamy effect.  The sentiment is from PTI.  I think this one looks a bit more dramatic.  As it is a bit more inky than my usual designs I will link it up with the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge.

Anyway, do go and check out what the fabulous design team have created using this phrase - they are super talented.  And talking of super talented we are joined by the fabulous Jill Vickers from My Life in Paper as Guest Designer for this challenge - I love Jill's work and you can also see her guest designing over at Merry Mondays as well this week!  Do check out her blog for lots more inspiration :)

I hope you have fun with our new challenge and take Time Out to join us!

Thanks for stopping by,

Sarah x

  1. Wow Sarah, I love both of these... But since I can sometimes be somewhat of a drama queen I'll choose the second one as my fave! :) Fab inking and striking colors and I love the black in the card too. Beautiful! xxx

  3. Love the first card; it looks so asif you see the tree and birds on a walk through a dampty and wet world... The second has also great colours and that is a beautiful treestamp! Hugs, Gerrina

  5. It's amazing that the same stamp can be used to create two so different cards! One soft and the other one a bit bolder but still dreamy. Love the shimmer spritz and the saying on the second one! Great stamp and great cards!

  7. What a beautiful stamp and it looks so different for each card, I think thats very clever of you!! I love how the first card almost looks like you painted it, especially the birds and with the hint of blue around the edge it does have a dreamy feel about it. Your second card is equally as gorgeous, it looks amazing in black and your moon is so bright. Genius!!

  11. Wow, Sarah, these are both just beautiful! The silhouettes against the sponged background are so dramatic ... and I'm completely taken with the soft, loose watercolour look of the first ... it's so perfect with the sentiment! Anita :)
